Define "a lot." Because "a lot" of people pre-purchased Going Rogue and, technically, already own it. A lot of people would, therefore, be very happy if it launched today, rather than tomorrow. And why would anyone be unhappy, really? Because other people got to try the game first when they bought first? Are we back to happiness being drawn from other people NOT having stuff?
When I preordered City of Villains, I got a three-day head start. For the entire game, I might add. I fail to see why those who pre-purchased can't get a head start today. Not to mention the fact that they could simply list Going Rogue on the PlayNC store as they said they would either way.
At the end of the day, I'd rather have it all done today, than having to sit on my hands all day tomorrow, too. I'm off work, people!
Meanwhile, those in the camp the pre-ordered from retail are entitled to free RL and in-game items in addition to the GR Items Pack, to the lament of those that pre-ordered the game.
So which camp is right? Which party has more entitlement to than the other? Who's the better fan? What metric shall we use?
The truth is: a per-order is a pre-order. Neither party is more entitled than the other, regardless of the justification. I'd agree with your premise if there was a pre-order launch in retail like there was for CoV... but there wasn't. -
Anyone who thinks GR will launch early, given that people using the market aren't expecting it to go live until tomorrow, given that retailers won't be selling boxes until tomorrow, etc., is probably a tad delusional. You'd piss a lot of people off.

Does NOT necessarily mean that GR will be activating today, only that they're taking care of the groundwork. -
Gotta blame GR on my part. Also the reason I've been offline; been waiting for new story content. Now I can play catch up with some of the newer TFs too (Posi pts. 1 & 2, Khan, Barracuda, etc.)

A better question would be: For which powers do you want Alternate animations?

That being said:
- Travel powers would be key. Alternate animations for Hover (walking in air, yoga position), Fly (disc fly, ice fly, fire fly, flying in an upright position), Super Speed (skates, rocket skis), Teleport (Ninjitsu hand gesture, snapping fingers), and alternate FX for Hasten.
- Whirling Axe. I remember a bug when Whirling Axe would play the Whirlwind animation. I thought that was actually kind of cool
- Old West / gunslinger animations for Dual Pistols (to agree with other posters)
- Aid Other. Would be nice to have alternative to the "tricorder." Perhaps have alternatives for Natural (infusing chi) and Magic (casting a spell) origins.
Will annotate others I can think of them. -
I'm also back after a long hiatus. Those of you keeping tabs know that I've been wandering around The Final Frontier, chasing bogies 'round the Antares Maelstrom during my "vacation."
I plan to start playing more frequently (and of course creating a new character with the release of GR), but it also depends on my workload this semester, which starts next Monday. Fortunately, it's the first semester in a while where I don't have any weekend classes, which will be a boon for both playing and RL socializing.

Point of note: to NCSoft, a name is just a name. If there are ever any issues in the future regarding the status of an in-game character, it can easily be corrected with a $10 rename token (or during a free server transfer period, if you know how to work a rename out of it), and perhaps a change of costume.

I remember when the game was so new we didn't have "Back in the Day" threads.
Fire Tanks were still overpowered and pulling dozens of mobs in Perez Park (sometimes into dumpsters to maximize their PBAoEs), and Dr. Vahzilok was a major threat because he didn't scale down to an EB.
We had teams to take out Praetorians because here was no Flashbacks system, and if you missed the first arc, you might be out of luck unless you found a kind soul to let you tag along (and no Exemping existed either). Especially since badges weren't retroactive when introduced. "How am I supposed to get the Infected badge?" You didn't that's how! (Of course, Posi threw a bone with Recluse's Victory, and then a major boon with Ouroboros, but those were years off).

Plus I got a free copy of Just Cause 2 and a trial to Starcraft 2 withh it

Thanks for the verification. Heat and power draw are two concerns of mine, but obviously stability is a big factor. I think I'll go with the cooler, less-consuming alternative that has almost all the same performance.
