    Prayers Needed!

Sorry to hear about your loss. My wife lost a good friend in a car accident many years ago, but still keeps her in her thoughts. What's important is that you're there to support your friend through this trying time. I offer you and him my sincere condolences.
  2. I was going to save this until tomorrow, but as I’ll be taking the day off for my birthday, I’m not going to be around a computer much tomorrow.

I’ve decided that, after a long hiatus with a brief pick-up to play a Praetorian, that I am retiring, indeterminably.

Although the majority of my time during the last six-and-a-half years here has been a blast, my recent malaise has made me realize that I’m becoming one of “those players” who’s becoming more cynical than constructive out of a lack of interest in the game. That’s not to say that CoH is boring - after all, CoH was the best MMO I’ve ever played. However, I’ve been playing it for a very long time, and I’ve decided that between other RL and gaming interests, and most of my SG being inactive, I’m going to find some restful perch on a high building and sip on my favorite beverage.

To preempt the usual question: no, you can’t have my stuff. I reserve the right to come out of retirement at any indeterminate future date, so I might need my crap for later.

    Special recognition:

    To the OP:

Welcome to "Me 2 Years Ago."
  5. Yes, it will be under "Personal Items." You can place it temporarily, and once placed, move it around using the standard "Edit Base" interface.
  6. They all looks like works of art; I imagine the judging wasn't easy. Congrats to everyone

We're already getting Boosters which offer costumes you CANNOT get without buying the Booster. Wouldn't Boosters that come with an in-game way to earn the bulk of their content be considered an improvement by the opponents of microtransactions? I would think so, but I honestly don't know.
I know that's the way it is in other games. Invest time, or invest money. Personally, I find this solution equitable. And either way, an MMO is making money through longer sub times or through micro-trans. But as S_S pointed out, double-dipping the player base is too tempting for a publisher.

Personally, I'd play longer and more often if it meant I could get those costume bits without having to shill out $10 for every booster. But that's just how I roll. Others could certainly have the option to bypass and just pay for the items. Heck, if they made a booster for all the Vanguard and Roman stuff, I'd be fine with that, because you can either earn it in-game or pay extra for it.

Wait, you mean I'm not actually supposed to play thorough content on an MMO?

Seriously, the ITF is probably something most high-level characters are going to do once anyhow. Same with Rikti ship raids (maybe 2 or 3 passes to get enpugh Merits for all the costume bits?). You make it sound as if we're working in a salt mine

OTOH, see my next post below.

It seems the only thing that it does have is that you'd expect/hope it not be answered :P. (Also, it's "on the HEELS" ) (EDIT: just friendly ribbing, there Obsidious, no offense intended.)
No offense taken... it was a baited question, admittedly.
  10. A base-off. Judged base showcase. 3 prizes to be awarded to the presenters or architects of the winning bases.

Now you're just being picky I'd be playing the game anyhow, meaning earning pieces would be part of what I'm doing anyhow. Now I have to play the game and pay extra for pieces.

In the past, certain costume pieces were special because one earned them. They were an achievement, like badges. Now? Well, any schlep with $10 can just toss it at the NCStore. An achievement, for sure

Here's my rhetorical question: Two booster packs on the heals of a paid expansion?

Right. As such, you don't get ANY of NR's benefits while using SS, or vice versa. It's entirely one or the other.
  13. The Roman outfits with the Cimerora issue.

    Jackets (in general)

    Robes (in general)

All the spiffy costume options that came with the Day Jobs issue.

Hey! I just remembered... Vanguard outfits. Free with the RWZ issue and earnable Merits.

And all the Vanguard weapons that were added with Power Customization.

You're right... this is extremely cool, and still infinitely better than One More Day.

Nope, but I can't be bothered to care or recollect one way or another at this point.

I remember when we got stuff like the Jester and Enforcer sets for free >.>

    ... just sayin'
  18. I lot of people forget that Disney owns ABC. If Disney gives ABC enough leeway to show half the stuff that passes for "television" over there, I doubt they'll muck around with Marvel very much.

That being said, it's natural for the owners of Marvel to put Marvel Studios under their umbrella. And as I've mentioned, I don't think it will affect the artistic quality of Marvel Studios' work one bit.
  19. And I can haz 200M?

    Sweet!

    I am @Obsidius BTW

Technically yes, but Citadel had to be rebuilt after the Rikti War, but he's still called Citadel.
  21. One thing I've noticed is how the RWZ is becoming less of a "War Zone" and more of a "generic co-op zone", simply because it's the only co-op zone in the game besides Cimerora and Pocket D. Heck, there's an Architect Entertainment there (not to beet a dead horse, just sayin').

IMPO devs, it's time to create a new co-op zone or re-purpose another existing zone into a co-op zone.

There's a lot of specualtion this is Tin Mage, referenced in the Omega Team time capsule and in the I19 page.
  23. Koschej didn't get to say goodbye. Although it could be argued that he wasn't the same caliber of installation as BAB.
