  1. Worked out very well for my wife and I on our accounts. Thanks NCSoft
  2. And all that developer time revamping low-level content gets bypassed by new players going through repetitive radio missions.

I also agree with this proposal. Detectives can pop up on the Content Finder and be seen on maps; no need for the map waypoint to get hijacked the minute a new player enters Kings Row (or any other zone with a detective for that matter).

I'd agree IF it accurately reported costume pieces I purchased before Issue 21, which it doesn't. For example, I already own several of the former Booster packs; however, most (if not all) of the costume options in those Booster Packs are still purchasable by me. Furthermore, several of the emotes I've purchased with Booster Packs show up as Purchasable on the Market. With no refunds on purchases, the burden falls on me to ensure I don't re-purchase an items due to the Market's extremely poor tracking of items I already own.

Obviously, I could make purchases via the Tailor interface, but it's more difficult for me to determine all of the costume items included in a bundle, for example, as opposed to ordering everything piecemeal (much more expensive). That being said, pictures of costume items (individually and per bundle) could also go a long way towards clearing up any confusion.
  4. Back on topic:

Some edge cases aside, I am fine with the proposed changes. AS for the edge cases, not sure what the proper solution would be, but the streamlining solution is the best proposal for the majority of cases, IMPO.

Defiant has a great enviroment for serious gamers and trying to force us to spread out to the American servers would be a big detriment to us. The server had also had a lot more players lately and with the big knowledge base among the veteran defiants I saw only good things ahead. Amongst other things the defiant server handled the invasion event much more handedly than than the freedom server. I honestly dont really see much joy in leaving defiant behind. So far this is just rumours off course but I seen a certain.. bias towards the American servers and especially the freedom server, so I would not be suprised if you suddenly decided to downgrade the Euro servers. Hopefully you will fix this problem soon.

Wow, sounds like some major PIGG corruption. Looks like I'll be elsewhere until this gets resolved.

I don't post on the forums to please you!
  11. The first thing you should do is ensure your graphics driver is up to date. What graphics chip does your laptop have? If you can't get the driver directly from nVidia or ATI's web site, check your laptop manufacturer's web site.

If the board supports tilting (which it does, as far as I've seen in videos and online), then yes. It should be able to climb perpendicular to the ground. But not upside down or anything > 90 degrees.

You're confusing "Fly" (something the engine can do) with "Climbing a Vertical Surface by Running Up It" (something the engine wasn't designed to do).

Indeed, ala Fly, Issue 0. Really not a new concept, just now with a Rocket Board attached to one's feet.

Concurred. I think I'll keep this thread handy to help me in the future to determine those who are calm and collected and those who need to soak their heads for a bit.

I was never a fan of the Marketing Dept, but for once I think they got something right. So they took some creative license - BFD. At least it wasn't a CG trailer that shows nothing from the game (even if some of what was shown is for dramatic effect only).

    Welcome

  18. Here are some of my observations:

Since day 1, I've felt CoH takes the "comic" route of portraying many women at first glance. That's to say that the default pose, the proportions, everything about female characters leans heavily towards the overly feminine sex symbol comic women.

Although I can't fault CoH for taking this route, it really leaves little to the player as far as playing outside of that space. That's to say that, no matter what, there are arbitrary confines of what costume options are allowed between Male / Female / Huge models; when your character runs, she'll always run with the butt wiggle; when she walks, she always looks like she's walking down a fashion runway; and although the costume sliders can accentuate your characters breasts and buttocks, there's no option to make her look lean and muscular, like Jillian Michaels for example. Females in CoH are typically about low-cut shirts and skirts, high-heal shoes, and all of those other tropes of comic book ladies, IMPO. At least that's what most of the costume packs imply (Witch female costume options, Barbarian female costume options, etc.).

So yes Sam, I think I'm there with you in your observations. The problem is that, with a comic book genre game, females are shoe-horned into the same role they have in comic books, which is to say strong but extremely sexy. Sure, there are more conservative options, but IMPO, far fewer than the super sexy options like Witch Boots and Hearts Plus patterns.

    Enter Game Sound

Consider me one of those that got tired of the "enter game sound" after having listened to it for several years. IMPO, it didn't age well.

OTOH, I'm glad it's preserved for posterity for its fans
    • Remove the "bandwidth hog" info terminals. If they're not going to be used in the Rogue Isles or Praetoria because of bandwidth issues, just remove them altogether.
    • Replace terminals with city buses that actually stop at bus stops (even if the buses are decorative like any car in the game).
  21. Congrats Cats Don't have too much fun staying in the hospital for a few days, getting far less sleep at nights, etc., etc.

But seriously, congratulations on the new addition to your family If we don't see you online much, you have a great excuse.

Oh, "Pay to Win". No thanks. Any developer in his or her right mind would never do this.
