  1. Who said I was any better? Except perhaps in the critical thinking, grammar, and proper English departments, but that's just my opinion.

It's really not a popularity contest, I've just been reading his posts for years, that's all. Also, just my opinion.
  2. Thanks for bringing this to my attention, I totally plan to participate in this contest

oh and while your at it...i see yet another patch for the hami badge that i told you was broke and was told it wasnt.....you owe me an apology.next time believe the players when they tell you the stuff it borked!
I understand. It's quite simple: Moving from one accounting system to another has led to people getting points before their time in September. But no one threw a hissy fit over that and threatened to quit.

Then, in order to catch up, some people will get their October points two weeks late until their billing cycle can synch. At which point, this became the worst thing in the world to ever happen... EVER!!!!!!1!!!!

Oh, I understand exactly what's going down.
I can see Severe's college education is finally paying off in posts that completely make sense and non-nonsensical rants.*

    Oh wait...

    * Forgive my double negative, it's a freshman mistake.
  5. I would never use SJ as an attack set. It makes a fine travel power though

And I am still waiting on delivery. While waiting I cannot access the benefits of paying that money. However, if I had not paid them that money and had held on to it until now, I could enjoy the benefits of paying that money at the moment AND over the next several months. Instead I will spend the next several months waiting for the rest of what I purchased months ago to arrive. Thus when the point do finally arrive over the next several months I will acquire less playtime with the items I purchase.

Oh wait, you're actually serious. I'm sorry for you.
  7. A reason to exist? Like using the Presence Pool Fears with any other set besides Street Justice?

Even if you personally think the pool underperforms, let's not remove options.

Let's compare CoX to another product: a car. I have to pay the loan (or heavens forbid, I'm leasing the sodding thing). And yet I still have to pay a subscription for satellite radio and satnav updates, I still have to pay for spare tires and oil changes, belts, and gasoline. AND I have to pay for insurance. Why aren't all of these things included in the initial price? In comparison, why do I have to pay for premium account access but not get extras like Street Justice powers? It's like buying tires for my crappy car, it's so unfair.

Let's compare CoX to another product: a toaster. I can make toast. I can even toast bagels and waffles. But it can't warm up my pancakes. Holy [pancakes], this is a serious design flaw. Instead, I have to buy a micrwave or an electric skillet. There again, COX was missing the Mastermind primaries when it was released, and I had to buy City of Villains to add it to the game. Why was I forced to buy something that should have been included with the game in the first place?

Let's compare CoX to another product: a banana. Both are tasty. Hmm... not much to run with there.

I could go on making ridiculous analogies...

I think good customer service would be to tell the customers about the problem and offer an intermediate solution (there may be a week or two of delay getting your points each month until the DB catches up to the rewarding mechanism).

    That's definitely what we need.

<Somebody whispers into my ear at this point>

Oh, it's already been done? Cool. The mission is complete. Let's go eat sushi or something.

I'm fine with things if I get my points a week late or a week early. Same with tokens. I'm not fine if I don't get my points/tokens for a given month at all, or if I get none for two months then suddenly get three months worth all at once.
That's also my understanding, which is why I think this duplicate thread is much ado about nothing.
  11. Another week? Call the FBI!

Edit: not sure why this couldn't be posted in the original thread created by Zwill that is referenced in this thread...
  12. Sudden news. Although the public has known about his battles with cancer, I'm still shocked. Never liked the Apple brand, but Jobs helped push the tech boundary to new limits. RIP sir.

  14. I'd just create a crap FB account if I didn't already have an actual account, just to get to promotion. The only real piece of info you need to make a FB account (AFAIR) is an actual email address. Everything else could be fictitious.

Either way, it would be worth time (jumping through some hoops on a 3rd party site) or money (PM Points).

In this case, I think Standard Code Rant is applicable. Do the devs have the ability to code so that players can only reply to previous tells, without giving access to the /tell feature wholesale? Who's to say.
  17. I know Doppelganger tech typically only clones based off of your first costume slot. If they use this tech for Decoys as it is now, decoys may NOT look like you in your current outfit.

Sure you don't mean VIP and Premium account? An account that has spent nothing on the game is Free, and should not be able to use email at all. Most accounts created before I21 launched were converted to Premium accounts, not Free.
  19. Remember - in order to properly apply them to your game account, you'll have to be logged off (ie: not logged into CoH while you're trying to apply the code)! My friend ran into this issue last night.

And with things like proliferation and the roll-in of CoV to the rest of the game, these sets were effectively free (after all, even if I didn't buy anything, my Controller didn't need to pay extra to get Thermal Radiation in the first round of proliferation).

I'll be buying Street Justice anyway, because I have the points set aside for it, but people might not complain as much if things were more reasonably priced.
I can't blame them on charging 800 pts for it. I paid that much for a costume slot before the price was adjusted down. I guess they figure that if people will buy it at 800 pts (which they are), they can make some extra coin off of it, and then drop the price after a few weeks or whatever.

IMPO, it's a better business model than a box set, as they have more direct control over the price in regards to initial price and discounting it whenever they want. People will pay a premium price to have it right out of the door, and others will wait until the price drops and pick it up later. Some players will pay the gouge to have the new shiny NAO.

If you want to blame anybody for the price at launch, look no further than your fellow players who facilitate this strategy

Edit: will I personally be picking this up? Not yet, I don't have a concept for it. But I'd probably pay 800 pts for Titan Weapons, devs, hint hint

I remember when I had for a crapload of whole new power sets. It was called City of Villains.

So how is this a crappy business model? Pay $50 for an entire expansion or a few bucks just for a power set.
