Quote:Um, no. If people are avoiding Defenders due to their low damage, nerfing Controllers would just drive people away from Controllers, and not towards Defenders. Unless you think everyone but Defenders should be nerfed, to coerce people into playing them. After all these pages and pages, it's pretty obvious though. There is no such buff.
Defender damage is low. Controllers do as much or more damage, have similar buff/debuff capability, and bring controls to the team as well. Buff defenders to be on par with controllers, and you make blasters obsolete. The only viable solution, as much as people don't want to hear it, is to nerf controllers.
I play Corruptors; I play Controllers; I play Masterminds, all ATs with buff/debuff secondaries. I DON'T play Defenders; they just do too little damage to be any fun. The problem is the weakness of Defenders, and nerfing other ATs will just make them worse; it won't make Defenders better. -
One way to make knockback team friendly I find is is to keep an eye on any squishy types, A scrapper won't like it if you knock his target away; but a Defender or Controller generally won't mind if you knock away the unmezzed Boss that's aggroed on him.

What, and risk having one of the originals walk in on your Lady Gray/Levantera/Borea harem fantasy program? I think not!

If you take an Immob at all, the AoE one Fire Cages would be better. I typically don't take them on Doms, and tend to leave them until late in the build if I do get them; unlike a Controller Doms don't get Containment so Immobilizing enemies is of limited use.

Quote:Not really; those Vanguard soldiers need the AE holodeck to . . . relax. If you know what I mean. Also, if co-op AE is now allowed at level 1, could you please consider moving the AE building from the RWZ to pocket D? It makes way more sense to have an entertainment facility in an entertainment area rather than in a zone where full scale battles are raging.

Carrion Creepers now work properly with enhancements ( before, it turns out most did nothing at all ). The damage boost component was removed from Domination and made part of the Archetype's base damage, and all the attack sets heavily tweaked. You'll do more damage than you used to, but you'll also use more endurance; if you didn't have Stamina before you'll probably want it now.

Quote:Yup, I already knew that; which is one reason why I like the idea of taking it to the next level.Internally, the different servers are called Shards (Open up yout Global Friends and expand the information to see what server you're on... It's right there) This does already give some in-game explanation for in-character talk of happenings on other servers. The servers are each different parallel realities that are VERY close together, as opposed to the Warrior Earth Shard or the Shadow Shard...

Well, "hatred" is too strong a term in my case; "irritation" is more like it. As to why I find it irritating; first, "twitter" and "tweets" are terms that I find way too cutesy. And second, people seem to mostly fill it with boring spam. Even compared to what often gets posted on blogs.

As far as going serverless, I'd go for a more quasi-serverless system before that. Keeps the servers either as physical entities, or as virtual servers on a single machine if they go that way. Allow transfer between servers to be as easy as stepping though a portal ( the in game explanation being the different servers are alternate worlds ), which would append the words "of servername" to your character as long as you are there. So instead of having to change names you'd be "Doomslash of Virtue" while on Guardian, say. This would hopefully preserve the respective server cultures, while at the same time allowing the advantages of going serverless. Plus, they could then allow the servers to diverge in classic alternate universe style; add changes to some and not others, have events running at different times on different servers and so on.

Eh, I find it kind of amusing. At 42+ months, I've been told the game was "dying" since I joined.

It might have something to do with them being given the necessary people, but "getting off their bums" implies that their reason for not doing this before was laziness and not manpower and I see no reason to think that. They've said consistently that the problem was a lack of resources; they get more resources and we get customization. Seems pretty straightfoward.

The "charge up" stance for the Valkyrie pack Mission Teleport, Pocket D Teleport and Teleport-to-base powers isn't working correctly. Instead the character takes up the stance, then starts to ease out of it, then starts to get into it, then starts to ease out of it again and so on in a rather spastic looking cycle until the power finishes charging and fires.

My three favorites :
Ill/Rad : Very powerful jack of all trades; someone soloed Lusca with one.
Ill/Storm : Master of chaos control. Spectactular and powerful. Freezing Rain helps Phantom Army hit hard, Tornado juggles anything without -KB, and eats anything that has it.
Ill/TA : Trick Arrow adds controls, and the debuffs make Phantom Army hit harder. Fry enemies with Oil Slick Arrow when Phantom army isn't ready; choose Tech or Magic origin to light it. -
Here's some of mine :
Lady Skinless ( DM/Regen scrapper ) : Clarissa Saunders was an ordinary lab assistant, until some thugs sent in search of exotic technology threw her into a vat of mutagenic corrosives. Her skin and face were burned away, but she survived when the mutagen granted her regeneration capabilities. Unfortunately, she can only heal to the point where she gained her powers - which means her own power keeps her from growing new skin, or having some grafted on. The doctors implanted artifical eyes and a artificial voice, but could do nothing else for her. In constant agony, more than half insane from her pain and disfigurement, she set out to find revenge, aided by her new ability to draw upon negative energy as a weapon.
Pale Revenant ( Sonic/Dark Corr ) : This spirit is believed to be the ghost of a murdered woman, whose rage and strength of will allowed her to transcend death itself. She avenged herself upon her killers, her screams of rage and anguish tearing at their flesh and crushing their bones, even as the dark energies of the netherworld drained their strength. Unfortunately, as Ghost Widow often points out, the dead cannot change. Her last thoughts were of rage and hate and suffering; now, those are her only thoughts. She is bound to this world by her rage, and she takes out that rage on all the world.
Winterqueen ( Ice/Storm Corr ) : This foolish young woman, like other fools before her has sold her soul for power; in her case, to a demoness of ice. And as such people usually discover, the price was enough to make the prize worthless. Cold in flesh and soulless in spirit, she finds pleasure only in cold things; malice, cruelty, power; and even then, her pleasure is cool and fleeting, needing ever more extremes for her to feel anything at all. Good food, good drink, love and sex and other warm pleasures are denied her; she can indulge, but she feels nothing. As time goes by, she has sunk further and further into decadance, seeking some debauchery that can make her feel again - not realizing that not only is her quest useless, but every sin she commits seals the bargain she made with evil ever more firmly . . .
Dark Mechanix ( Bots/Dark MM ) : Dark Mechanix once, long ago, in a far off dimension was a hero of a nonhuman race. He and others fought relentlessly against a dark force that threatened to consume their world, but in the end were overwhelmed and consumed by the Darkness. He was one of the unfortunates who lived. His flesh was carved away and replaced with cold machinery, leaving only a few remnants; the flesh left to him feeling nothing but cold and pain. His brain was coldly, agonizingly cut and warped into total submission to the Darkness, with just enough of the old him left to know what had happened to him, and suffer. His soul was infused with a fragment of the Darkness itself, so that he would be dominated by it forever. Now, he has been sent to Earth, a drone who commands drones of his own. His purpose, to weaken and divide Earth, in preparation for it's own consumption. To that end, he intends to encourage and aid Arachnos in it's quest for power; the more fighting, the easier to digest Earth will become.
Blade of Woe ( BS/Fire scrapper ) : The latest wielder - and victim - of the Blade of Woe, an ancient accursed blade. The Blade was forged millennia ago, and infused with a mighty demon. Wielding the Blade allows the user to draw upon the demon's infernal powers, such as ageless life and shielding himself with hellfire, but at a price. Once drawn, the demon within grasps hold of the wielder's soul, and will not relinquish it's grip until the wielder dies or allow the wielder to give up the Blade. Worse, the demon never ceases in it's attempt to corrupt and dominate the wielder, and when - not if - it succeeds in doing so the wielder's soul is drawn into the Blade and consumed by the demon. If it ever manages to consume 666 souls, it will be strong enough to break the Blade and escape into the mortal world. All of it's previous wielders have either died violently or been corrupted.
The present wielder of the Blade found it by the side of the drained corpse of the 665th previous corrupted wielder . . . -
Let's see.
For some time I didn't realize you could turn off the apply-colors-to-all-parts function in the costume creator and was stuck with rather monochromatic heroes.
I once tried to helpfully use Recall Friend to bring someone to where the rest of us were waiting before the Boss; I neglected to tell him and he was teleported while running and promptly ran into the Boss and got faceplanted.
I was very nervous about using the tailor the first time, because I wasn't quite sure that doing so wouldn't cost real money.
My first controller was Earth/Storm, and I heavily slotted Gale for damage. Look at all those numbers! Small numbers . . . -
Quote:It would be in the Pets Healing Received channel I think.Impeded Swiftness: Chance for Smashing Damage, slotted in Snow Storm...but can't say that i've ever seen it do anything.
I'd stick it in the Soldiers or Spec Ops; they spam their cone attacks more than you can spam Freezing Rain. -
None of the people who know the answers can tell you, because they are in closed beta.

I've heard that can be done but never tried it.

Well, they didn't have the ability until recently; not with sacrificing everything else for it. Look at weapon customization; someone came up with a method of customizing weapons that didn't take the same kind of manpower and they promptly gave it to us.

Quote:It's broken at the moment; GoliathBirdEater set up a temporary version that has links to the Dev's posting lists. Not as good as the normal version but useful.1) Can someone toss me a link to the dev tracker if there is one on the new forums? I didn't see it anywhere. Seems like a good thing to put at the top of the page...
