Quote:This reminds me of a bug I experienced using Mission Teleport in Mercy. In one of the warehouse missions, I'd end up appearing in between the normal wall as seen from outside, and an inner building wall. I could run back and forth but not get out; fortunately the mission door was clickable. As you can see, there is a big chunk of fully-rendered wall INSIDE that building, and it's not even visible from the outside! The computer is rendering two separate faces of two different geometries, and we only see one of them! I can only assume that the entire building is a bunch of textured cubes clipping into one another. It even has doors!!!

Freedom seems to have the highest population of people who are idiots/irritating/stupid; I suspect much of that is because it has the highest population, period, since I've run into decent enough Freedomites. Virtue of course has plenty of RPers; whether that's "bad" or not is a matter of taste. Virtue also seems more prone to problems with global chat channels, for some reason.

Quote:Well, except for his badge mission where the niece of the Vendetti ( Verandi are the Family guys, not the contact ) traitor ends up getting the short end of the stick ( scroll down to the debriefing ).Then take Verandi as contact. Yes he wants revenge and bad things will happen to those he wants revenge on. But those people are council.

Mmm, I don't know. Sonata has you kidnap a woman to be his sex toy, and Maros has you help arrange the devastation of a city in "Steal the devices from Longbow" just to manipulate Doctor Theron.

Quote:That doesn't make it not griefing; it just means that the PvP point is griefing. A situation designed to attract and favor griefers doesn't make it not griefing.Attacking the enemy in a PvP zone with the express purpose of preventing them from acheiving a PvE goal in that zone is not griefing. It's kind of the point.
Quote:Asking them to stop is a valid action; but they can refuse and that is also valid. It would be NICE of them to stop, but (sadly) the main reason those PvE goals are there is so that you will enter a PvP zone and get attacked (and hopefully discover a new world of exciting fun in the process).
Quote:Well, there is reason. Yes, you are there. Yes, it's a PVP zone. They also get rep, and a chance at an IO drop (as well as inf/prestige, or possible salvage and insps.)
Why do you stop and kill random mobs on the streets of Paragon? They're an enemy, you're rewarded for defeating them. Why should you (an enemy to that stalker) be any different in a PVP zone? You were a target of opportunity with an attached reward. -
Quote:Wrong. It can also be the desire to win. Not against the character, but against the PvPer. The PvPer wants to fight? Deny him the fight and you win.People run in PVP because they are afraid. No other explanation makes any sense at all.
Quote:And in Recluse's Victory, when hunting Heroes, we had a lone fire Blaster show up, bomb the group while they were fighting the turrets, and run. This would cause some of us to faceplant. We repeatedly informed the heretofore-called "griefer" that we weren't there to fight Players, we were there for the Hero-Class NPC badges. His response: "I don't care." -

Quote:Oh, it gets a LOT stronger down the road. You are pre-SO, have only two weak bots, and don't even have Freezing Rain yet. And Bots is always slow at low levels. The Protectors are OK healers as well as adding defense; especially when you have both.Rolled a bots/storm. Not enjoying it one bit yet, but I'm only level 8. I'm annoyed I can't heal myself outside popping green pills, and O2 boost leaves a LOT to be desired when healing my bots. In fact, I hate not having an AoE heal since my bots like to stand next to me most of the time. I really hope the prot bot is a descent healer, or I don't see this toon keeping my attention much longer.

Quote:Ah, the old "both sides are just as bad" line. That's a standard defense ( and not just for PvP ) but I see no reason to believe it. The majority of people I hear admit to being PvPers act that way; the majority of PvErs don't. Not just in the few times I go into the zones, but on my global channels too. Not all - you for example are one of the few I haven't ended up /gignoring in game - but most.I'm tired of the PVEer mindset. All they do is steal kills, fill broadcast with lines that look like a five year old who just learned their first four-letter words, can't team, can't spell, and make life unpleasant. They have no idea how to play their characters most times, and were probably just PLed.
Does that sound ridiculous to you? Sure it does.
Does that describe a loudmouthed minority of the playerbase? Sure.
Should I paint the whole of the community with that brush? Of course not.
So you'll understand if I ask you not to do the same with the PVP community. Yes, there are some loudmouthed, bad mannered folks out there - but with *my* experience - which from your own description is probably much wider when it comes to both the zones and community - it is, indeed, a minority. -
Quote:It's also a damage buff. And yes, MMs do often find endurance boosts useful.2) AM would be a terrible MM buff. Most MMs don't need recharge, or the extra recovery, which leaves... running speed?
Which with Bodyguard and debuffed enemies isn't that bad a thing.
It's a wide area hold in a set that doesn't normally get one, and can be stacked with a Patron hold. And with the Lich's & Ghost's hold with Necro. -

Well, yes. Both because that's where non-PvPers encounter PvPers, and because the zones are logically where all the more jerkish PvPers will hang out. You can't harass a non-PvPer in the arena, or gang up on people who have non-PvP characters, or do most of the other things that the jerk faction likes. You can't even act too much like a jerk to other PvPers without them just deciding to not use the arena with you. The mechanics of a PvP zone are much more jerk-friendly.
-
No, it's PvE content put into a PvP zone in an attempt to more-or-less coerce people into PvP. Yet another reason why I don't like PvP in this game.
-
I find a self heal useful on my Fire/Storm, personally. Then again, I may be fighting bigger groups; I note the OP skipped Fire Breath, which I'd never do.
-
-
Not all jerks are PvPers, but as far as I can tell, most PvPers are jerks. Most of the people who admit to being PvPers in game end up on my /gignore list pretty soon because they are just that unpleasant and insulting.

PvPers, in my experience have been obnoxious in and out of PvP zones; if they can't gang up 8-to-1 against a lowbie in a zone, they'll do things like hang out at a market rocking their aura specifically to annoy people ( and say so! ) and broadcasting insults against PvErs. Or try other forms of griefing. I don't WANT to play with them or against them. The only reason I go into a zone is to get the PvE content that was put there in order to attempt to crowbar us into PvPing.

Hmmm; I just tried Walk on Unseelie Sprite, my minimum-height fairy-themed female Dominator. It looks kind of odd on her since small characters move faster to make up for their small size.

Quote:Or the zombies could be volunteers. People who wanted to be heroes; or bodies donated like real world people do for science or organ donations. Or she could actually work for them, if they are sentient undead.Being able to control the dead doesn't make a person inherently evil. Think "Deadly Girl" from a movie called The Specials. Even though she summons demons, she's a superhero.
Also if you wanted to tweak an RP spin to raising zombies from the dead. Lets say a Gypsy Witch w/ a bag of enchanted bones. These bones are the bones of her ancestors and are enchanted to summon her family to help her fight evil. -
Quote:I haven't tried it in combat, but last time I used Walk on a mastermind the pet commands still worked in Walk mode. The pets certainly don't vanish in Walk. They do move kind of funny; THEY don't have Walk, so they tend to stop-and-sprint after you, kind of jerkily.I use it whenever... but I have a question: has anyone tried it with a mastermind? Someone I know suggested it around the time walk came out, don't know if they tried it. The idea is this: call all your henchmen, send them to attack the target, and walk up to the battle, all nonchalant and badass looking. Does this work, or are your pets dismissed for some reason?

I've used it on a few occasions ( especially with female characters naturally), most often after having made a new costume. Besides its sexiness on the ladies, it is slow enough that you can pan around the character looking at how it looks in motion and not worry about running into a wall. I've also used it a few times when I wanted to get in just the right spot for something.
