That would be nice too; but in a choice between blades and pistols, I'd go for pistols.

Also, that sounds like it would be somewhat the opposite in terms of style; a mostly melee set with a few ranged attacks, instead of a mostly ranged set with a few melee attacks.

(This post may be in jest)
All joking aside, not only are there melee attacks in all Dominator Assault sets, but Dominators have a higher damage modifier for melee attacks. And someone dual wielding pistols should probably qualify as violating some Evil Overlord rule anyway.
  4. It seems to me that it wouldn't take much to adapt the set into a Dominator Assault secondary; and I like giving as many ATs as possible access to a powerset. And it would give Dominators a not-superpowers looking assault set. Now if only there was a "Gadget Control" set to go with it...

    A quick and dirty example:

    1: Pistols

2: Pistol Whip; a melee attack; you smack the target with one pistol, then shoot them as they fly away with the other. Smash/Lethal/Knockback.

    3: Dual Wield

    4: Empty Clips

    5: Swap Ammo

    6: Bullet Rain

7: Point Blank Fire; a heavy melee attack; similar animation to Executioner’s Shot but melee ranged with multiple shots.

    8: Executioner’s Shot

    9: Piercing Rounds

I would assume the removal of Suppressive Fire and Hail of Bullets. I doubt the Devs would want to give the attack secondary a control power; and Dominators don't get Nova type powers. And that allows the addition of a pair of melee attacks.

I'm thinking a tail tentacle with eyes and mouths. Something very Rularuu/Lovercraftian. Possibly with sound effects resembling Carrion Creepers.

Even better if it comes with matching back tentacles, like a squirmy Crab Spider.
  7. I like the ( wild ) speculation someone mentioned in another thread; that the "Dark Mirror" enemy will be the Blood of the Black Stream in game at last. Black/Oil=Dark, shapechanging = Mirror.

A bird head would be good too. Making it mesh properly with the shoulders ( with the feathers ) might be hard though.

Unless everyone on the team gets duplicated. That could be brutal; the more well balanced the team, the more dangerous the enemy would be.

FACT the upgrade has the same goodies that a booster pack has, costumes, emotes and a power:

    • Alpha and Omega themed auras
    • Alpha and Omega themed costumed sets
    • Four stance emotes
    • The Shadowy Presence invisibility power

FACT the price difference between the Going Rogue expansion and the complete collection is $10, the same price a booster pack is.

FACT the only content difference between the Going Rogue expansion and the "Complete Collection" is that the complete collection has 1 month of free play, CoH as well as Going Rogue expansion installation files and the already mentioned goodies.

OPINION: the Complete Collection extra goodies (which is available as a $10 upgrade) is basically our next booster pack quota for the time being.
Except all that is way off in July, in a paid expansion. While coming up soon, we have a new free Issue with animated tails. The perfect time to release some for-pay Mutant costume parts, I'd say. They'll get more sales when it isn't competing with GR.

My guess is, we'll see the GR pre-order, then in a while ( along with, or soon after Issue 17 ) the Mutant Pack, then after quite some time the GR "Complete Collection".

  13. As far as Illusion for Dominators goes; the same arguments were made for how Earth/ wouldn't work for Dominators because so many of its powers aren't affected by Domination; it works fine. I think that Illusion will work fine, and it has one great tool for Doms: a means of keeping EBs with the Purple Triangles of Death from pounding you to jelly. Phantom Army means that you aren't stuck essentially without a primary fighting mezz resistant enemies.

The "One cape rule" is "no more than one cape or capelike costume part per character"; more capes per character significantly adds to lag. Fortunately that doesn't apply to these tails.

Or more tails. Yes; not only does it make sense, but the upcoming Mutant Pack might well have costume parts that need this update to work in the first place.

New EATs at 50 are unlikely; they've said in the past that making the Kheldians/Soldiers unlock at 50 was a bad idea. I'd expect some other method; unlocking a hypothetical Vanguard or Rikti AT by beating the LGTF, say.

    Necro Angst

26 is when I normally find Necro getting good. My standard tactic on most is to send in the Lich to take the alpha; send in the Grave Knights to melee range behind him, and leave the Zombies on Defensive/Follow most of the time.

I don't know if it's a good idea to leave out your best ranged attack ( subdue ), and both your non-psi damage attacks. Personally, I skipped Mental Blast to fit in Levitate; less damage, but more control ( and smashing damage to deal with all those robots ).

Depends on who he's planning to blow up. Especially in a game where everyone on both sides gets sent to the hospital and restored, anyway.

Make me wonder why the authorities bother with heroes for hostage situations. "What? The Council has taken some City Councilmen hostage, and you want to call in some heroes? Don't waste their time; we'll just nerve gas the building and sort out the villains from the hostages at the hospital."

A good Mastermind always plans ahead, but a great one knows when to make a strategic sacrifice. You have equipped all your henchmen with explosives. When the time is right, select a henchman and set off the Detonator. Undead and Robots are easily rigged and will blow up instantly, devastating nearby enemies. Ninjas, Soldiers and other free thinking henchmen will try to place the explosive on the ground and get away. But you know... the fuse is short.

Reeeaaaally hard to make that a heroic power.
Thug: "Uh, boss. Won't this, you know, blow me up?!"

Heroic Mastermind: "Don't worry! You've been wired into the hospital teleport network. Even if things go wrong, you'll be fine. As long as the emergency TP receiving team doesn't lose any of the parts like last time, the idiots."

Thug: "What was that last part again?"

Heroic Mastermind: "Um, nothing! Just wishing you good luck!"
