Personally, I've never bought a recipe for that much; I don't even have that much on more than one or two characters. If something costs more than five million or so, I simply treat it as not existing when planning my build. Or put out a low bid and hope to get lucky.

It works at any level, as long as you still have access to the power it is slotted in. I've used it in the Ouros into that sends you back to level 1.

Thunder Clap on defs and corrs ( and masterminds and controllers, for that matter ) isn't a knockback power at all; it's a minion level stun with no kb. It isn't the same thing as Lightning Clap from Electric Melee/Manipulation or Hand Clap from Super Strength, which are the knockback & stun powers you are thinking of.

DP is a weapon set; one of the limitations of the system is that they can allow for the customization of weapons or powers, not both. So, the price to pay for being able to have several types of pistols is that they all shoot the same stuff.
  3. I'm considering /Storm and/or /Thermal. With /Traps I already have a concept for a heroic Demon MM.

I've heard it called "Willpower and Shields Syndrome" on the forum; there was a lot of talk about how weak they were when they came out, too.
  5. 3 recharges in the power are enough to get out a pair of Acid Mortars, even without buffs like Hasten

However, I teamed with a Sonic Defender just yesterday who did a nice job of using Sonic Cage to take out tough bosses while the rest of us clobbered the rest of the foes. When the cage finally ran out, we were able to gank the boss. I think that is the first effective use of an Intangibility power I have seen -- but we were all on voice chat so he could tell us when he was using it. Plus, it had this easy-to-see blue cage, so it was easy to tell when the foe was impossible to hit.
I use Detention Field from /FF when solo on my Bots/Traps and find it useful. First, because obviously no one else is there to be confused and complain; and second, because it's useful to be able to take a single nasty enemy out of the fight long enough to deal with his friends. Much better than an AoE version like Black Hole in my opinion.

Not as bad as it used to be, they made the animated interruptible partway through. I'd rate it as better than Flurry, but it's still no Air Superiority.

I've heard that a few Masterminds us it for teleport ambushes. I've never personally seen it used though.

Ok, here's how it works. There is Super Speed, there are Stealth IOs, and then there are "Stealth Powers", like Stealth, Steamy Mist and so on. Of these three categories, you can stack any with one of the others for full invisibility; a Stealth IO with a "Stealth Power"; Superspeed with a "Stealth Power"; a Stealth IO with Superspeed. You can't stack two of the same kind of stealth ability, but since stealth IOs are uniques and there's only one type of Superspeed, that only matters with "Stealth Powers".

I've taken Stealth with Superspeed on one of my characters, for full invisibility and a place to put a Karma -kb IO. The Stealth power slows down Superspeed somewhat, but that actually makes it easier to use indoors I find.

I disagree. First, because stealth IOs are fairly expensive. And second, because you can fit defense IOs in it. And really; it does what it is supposed to do just fine. Turn on Stealth, and you are stealthy; turn on World of Confusion and...what? You have a cool aura?

As for Dimension Shift, I'll add its clone, Black Hole.

    Dual Pistols ?s

I've heard people who tried it say they liked it, and that the redraw isn't as bad as you would think.

Considering that no one not in closed beta has actually seen the things, how can you claim that?

  12. BaB commented on that quite a while ago, and said they'd look more distinctive than the concept art makes them look. Less fleshy, for one thing.
  13. I have some:

Sky Serpent the Thugs/Storm; a Tsoo Sorcerer expelled by the Tsoo and targeted for assassination for accessing lore he wasn't authorized to study. He's still a gangster at heart, so he has collected a force of more normal criminals to work for him.

Special Effectz the Illusion/Sonic; Freakshow. Why does he fight for the heroes? Freakshow don't NEED reasons! Violence is violence! And the heroes have cool stuff he can weld to himself.

Soundz the ( now deleted ) Sonic/Sonic Defender; Freakshow. He's so high on Excelsior that he doesn't know he's fighting for the heroes. He thinks he's kidnapping the people he rescues, that he's fighting Longbow when he beats up Arachnos and so on.

Earthshard the Earth/Psi; a Devoured human subjected to an experimental process to cure her. It rendered her mostly human and severed her connection to the Hamidon, but she has few memories of her time either as a human or a Devoured.

Killshock the Elec/Ninjutsu; renegade Crey employee who stole the experimental assassin powersuit he was in charge of building.

Night Revenant the Dark/Dark Brute; the product of a short lived collaboration between some Skulls and the Circle of Thorns. They wanted an undead Bone Daddy, and got a walking corpse inhabited by an inhuman dark entity that killed them all.

Hell's Betrayer the Thugs/Dark; a former Hellion who ate and killed ( in that order ) thirteen of his Blood Brothers with an iron dagger tempered in the blood of a madman, in return for dark powers.
  14. The top of the head of Galaxy Girl's statue; the badge would be Galactic Hero(ine).

I can't actually recall the exact location for this; someone might have an old screenshot. In Atlas near the City Hall as I recall. Someone copped an attitude at BaB in game one time, BaB enabled PvP mode and smacked him down. The badge commemorating this, of course, would be Brawled. The description text would be "On this spot, Back Alley Brawler taught a newbie a lesson."
  15. Actually, if you actually look in the Dev and Community Digests, you can see that they've been posting in several of the forums, not just this one. And right now, I expect several of them are posting in the Issue 17 Closed Beta forums.

Were you actually using them? Had a lot of self-proclaimed healers stand around like morons or plink away with their attacks while team mates are dropping all over the place.
I never got the chance to use them; as soon as I reached the zone they were in, the leader saw I was a /Dark and kicked me.

EDIT: And as it happens, I never called myself a "healer", nor did he say he wanted a "healer" ( but if he did, a /Dark should certainly qualify as one ). He sent a tell asking me to join, and never said a thing about "healers" until I finally reached the zone the team was in and he kicked me.

  20. Energy also makes a good primary for a ranged blaster in my experience. While not as damaging as Fire/, all that knockback makes it more likely that the enemy will stay at range.

Yes, you can see two of them at the Going Rogue website on the concept art page.

I have one of those; a black and grey wearing, "Renegade Hat" topped zombie gunslinger. Except that he's an outlaw that got plugged back in the 1800s, not one of the cowboys who did the plugging.

If you look at the pics, they seem to have some sort of "power gloves", and this really cool gridlike energy field that envelopes various parts of their body. Looks like Emperor Cole has a higher super science budget for his police than Primal Earth does.

I think it's safe to say that the red guy and purple girl have player-available costume parts. But the PPD and resistance = no guarantee and you people better not start hoping for it. You'll end up disappointed.

So yes, I expect that some of what the PC style characters have is new.
