But really, that's the most important way. The reasons that they have opposed raising the level cap have been technical ones, like purples being rendered obsolete and so on. Creating some sort of "parallel levels" gets around that.

Quote:Yes, or gods could be rolled up in there. Perhaps you are an Incarnate of some god or mythical being ( what god would Stheno be an Incarnate of? Medusa's not a god, and she's supposed to be her sister anyway ), not necessarily Greek; or that of something more abstract. Make it vague like "Science Origin", so you can make up a broader range of backstories.i dont think they would do it that way. far more likely(and less likely to tread on religious ad irreligious feelings) to make them incarnates of some broad sphere of primal power, like fire or energy or even an abstraction like the war or love. just would seem to be less likely to go too heavily against the grains for players.

Quote:How about that as one power? You would use a Lightning Rod-like animation to appear among the enemy, which would do stun and knockdown but low or no damage. That would be the level 12 usually-up control power.- Lightning Clap (AoE knockback + stun) - hope this or something like it is in there to make this set work with Storm's Thunderclap (plus a Controller with AoE -immob can stop the annoying knockback)
- Some version of Lightning Rod that does status effects instead of heavy damage (not really expecting it, but would love it) -
"More free slots" are mentioned as part of GR, actually.

They finally fixed the chat channel custom colors so they stick.
E mail can now be turned off or set to friends/SG only; and soon, you'll be able to mail inf and items.
As far as power changes go:
Dominators got rebalanced. Domination no longer boosts damage, the extra damage was added to the basic AT modifier instead. Dominator powers in general got rebalanced; especially Psi Assault. Psionic Shockwave was "nerfed" - technically, it used to be bugged to be much better than it should, but the devs let the bug lie because just fixing that would have crippled the set. These days, it's just a good power, while the rest of the set got buffed to compensate; TK Thrust especially was changed from a minor damage kb power to a strong single target attack.
Dark Melee got buffed; Siphon Life is now a heavy attack, and Soul Drain and Midnight Grasp were "front loaded"; most of SD boost comes froin the first target it hits, and most of MG's comes up front and not in the DoT.
Invunlerability also got buffed; Invincibility was front loaded, the -def removed from Unyielding some other tweaks.
Energy Aura got a weak heal.
Electric Armor had Conserve Energy switched for Energize, which adds +regen.
There was another round of Power Proliferation, a few new powersets.
The Walk inherent power was added.
The purchasable Martial Arts pack added Ninja Run, which you'll see all over. -
Well, isn't that what Defenders really need when it comes to soloing? They have OK control, and gobs of buffs/debuff; it's trying to actually kill things solo that makes it frustrating.

Kinetic/SR/Mu, the new faux-Sith build?

Googling, I see references to an "Ewok Love Festival", involving a winged Ewok with a heart on his chest and rear. Here's one link. My, those Ewoks are ugly.

Quote:EvilVillain: "And at last my superweapon is complete, and not even you can stop me, Noblehero! With the press of a single button, I shall kill every paparazzi on Earth! MWAHAHAHAHAhahahaha...ha? Why...why are you just standing there?"Every powered being or spandex wearer would have to deal with Paparazzi; the villains would not be able to kill enough to get the others to back off.
NobleHero: "Well, c'mon, press the damned button already!" -
As said, some people just like to complain. I also understand that it isn't all that rare for game companies to pay people to talk in other games or on their forums about how awful the game is, and how great the other one is.

Yes, they mesh pretty well.
Another possibility might be /Storm; I haven't tried it but they seem like they would mesh well. Freezing Rain would benefit the AoEs of Rad/, and you should be able to stack Cosmic Burst and Thunder Clap to stun even bosses. -

I saw a leak happen right after closed beta started, in a thread that got disappeared. So, even if they had a friends and family phase it evidently doesn't stop leaks.

Quote:Earth is quite a bit better at control than Ice, in my opinion. Is there any significant difference in crowd control between ice and earth? Would Arctic Air or Volcanic Gasses be more useful?
As for those two powers, I'm not even sure how to compare them; they really aren't very similar. Volcanic Gases is a powerful AoE hold on a fairly long recharge; AA is an aura slow/confuse/fear that you can run as long as you have the endurance to do so. Both are very good powers. -
Having just done a mission against high level Family on my level 39 Bots/Storm, I have to say Singularities are just nasty. Everything else, including the Nemesis ambushes that also attacked was just bot-fodder; the first group with a Consigliere I ran into was tougher than everything else combined. His Singy kept throwing around my bots like toys, and stacking holds on everything.

I believe the idea is to provide enough room at the top for just about anyone, while providing improvement for anyone with a fairly good but not necessarily top of the line machine. I do wonder about diminishing returns though; after a while that last little bit of extra rendering of shadows and reflections isn't likely to be all that noticeable.

Well, it says I qualify for Ultra mode! NVIDIA GeForce GTS 240 here; I don't know where that ranks in the video card hierarchy however. New computer though, which should help.
-
I've done that one once, and actually pulled it off despite having no idea it was coming. Mostly due to being on my Ill/Rad, who could stealth easily, and alternate Phantom Army and Spectral Terror to distract or fear any spawns around the glowies.

I really don't buy the idea that the government would vivisect superheroes any more than it vivisects, say, geniuses. Not all governments are Nazi Germany. Try to control or coerce yes; if nothing else, maintaining order is their job. But the drag-you-away-to-the-lab scenario is unlikely.
There's also the practical problem that if they started doing that, the news would get out and you'd probably have a superhuman insurrection. Heroes and villains alike would rally against the government out of self preservation. You aren't likely to have any allies among the super community if you have the habit of dissecting them. -
Oh, no, focusing on KK is the right thing to do. Beat him, and Singy vanishes; Singy on the other hand is seriously tough, and you'd still have to beat KK even if you beat Singy.

Never run out? So; paparazzi farming for villains?
-
Quote:Also, the paparazzi wouldn't harass the villains. To quote Astro City from memory, "You print anything about me again, and I'll burn you so bad that they bury what's left of you in a dixie cup."Granted, an aspect of the question people are forgetting in the above responses is that yes, while the paparazzi would be irritating against the superheroes, there is the other assumed condition that there are super villains in the world as well. Anything cynical you would assume about our world's habits would have to be accompanied by "How would the habits differ when unrestrained, they might lead to New York being blown up, repeatedly?"
