Or just mail what you need to/from the character in question.
  2. Personally, I like Bullet Rain better of the two. It seems to hit harder, and it does have a longer range. If you are choosing between the two, that would be my pick.
  3. Well, personally I went with Snow Storm to bring fliers down into reach of Animate Stone, and because they can't run out of it; I figured Freezing Rain would make up for the lesser -def. It works fine, but I can see it going either way.

As for Thunder Clap, I took it and like it.

I doubt they'd go to Open Beta on a Friday. They prefer earlier in the week for that sort of thing.
  5. That live-or die option seems aimed at heroic sidekicks, not villainous ones; heroes don't put people in deathtraps. I think that for villainous Sidekicks, when captured by the heroes the Die option should activate a clip of your Villain boss declaring "Your usefulness to me has ended!", tapping his arm like a Robotics Mastermind, and you explode into giblets. They can even reuse Doctor Creed's Anti-Infected Serum animation for it!

Oh, yes. I recall people asking for months when Visual Sounds were going to come out.

    Test Servers

Did it say the version is wrong? One Test server appears to be running a different version of the game than the other.

Well, that just means that you assume that it isn't a normal whip, or the user isn't a normal person. Make someone like Blacklash/Whiplash from Marvel comic (and Iron Man 2 of course) who used a powered whip that rips though steel and so forth. Or make someone who hits hard enough with his own strength to do that. Or it's a steel cable or impervium chain instead of a normal whip. And when you get right down to it, we already have Martial Arts, and bare hands are hardly realistic weapons to use on robots and walking boulders.

    It's comicbookland! Embrace the unrealism!

Edit: Actually, the sad part about those two names is that they suggest there are actually toons named Controller and Dominator.
That reminds me of a character I came across during a Rikti invasion once; a female mind controller named Mind Control Womin.
  9. Probably Dark, if for no other reason than it's so good and works with anything. "When in doubt, go for Dark Miasma" might as well be a motto for power choices.

Both are good. Fire/Storm matures sooner for solo work; Freezing Rain at 16, instead of Sleet at 35 being a prime reason.

Freakshow don't even need to clank together bottles with their fingers. They've got hammers and blades to bang together instead!

What's your favorite blaster or corruptor powerset combos?
My Ice/MM is nice. /MM adds some AoE to mostly single target Ice, and Drain Psyche + a hold means she's always topped up.

Fire/Dark is a classic, and very strong. Fire/Storm is also fun; more dramatic and if anything more destructive, if somewhat less survivable.

Ice/Storm is a thematic and powerful combo as well.
  15. "Rouge Lowbow". Longbow being such an obscure faction that it's easy to spell the name wrong...

    Welcome back!

If you haven't heard, Doms got rebalanced fairly recently; mainly, the damage boost was removed from Domination and the basic damage of the AT boosted to make up for it. So, no more alternating between doing good damage and killing things by inches. /Psi was seriously gone over; Psychic Shockwave is quite a bit weaker now, while the rest of the set is stronger. TK Thrust is a strong attack now. Energy also did well in the rebalancing, and Power Push is also a strong attack now.

I enjoy the control aspect of a dom a lot however I want my secondary to be synergistic and do a lot of damage. As of now this character is mostly going to be a solo toon, for PVE. So the question is secondaries. I am open to any suggestions for secondaries that would meld with Plant or Mind as a primary and do a lot of damage right now the builds I'm thinking about are: Plant/Thorn, Plant/Fiery, Plant/Psi OR Mind/Fire, Mind/Psi, Mind/Thorn.
All of those are good choices. Mind/Energy is another good one for solo work; you can sleep whole groups with Mass Hypnosis and beat them down one at a time without waking the others. Or Mind/Elec for a nice 'Sith Lord' feel.

I understand that with Seeds, you're not going to need to do tons of damage, but you will need to do some, and there ain't much here. Killing that last guy is going to take a LONG time if you're simply hitting unenhanced strangler over and over again. You've got Roots and Strangler, with no damage slots and nothing else to do harm with. In a solo Plant/Storm I think Roots is a serious damage power - it's a fast recharging AoE that makes it's own containment. You'll want to spam it for damage, so some damage slotting is important, at least eventually. You could also take entangle and respec out of it, or slot a bit for damage in Strangler - it all depends on your play style.
I note that he registered 2005; he may have 2-3 veteran attacks, which helps a lot with low level damage on single targets; especially once you get Freezing Rain. You are right about Roots though. Another advantage of Roots is its -kb effect, something slotting it for immob won't effect. You want to spam it, for damage and -kb, not immob. I'd slot it for damage and endurance reduction.
  18. 20 is a bit low; I'd have made it 30 or so. That said, I don't feel any particular anger over people having an easier time getting them than I did; after all, I've had access to them for a lot longer. I'm reminded of the people who get worked over CoV being bundled into CoH, "they can play it for free when I had to pay extra for it!" Yeah; years later.

It's my understanding that if you use procs in Freezing Rain, you should slot some accuracy into Rain because the proc will use the chance to hit and activate that Rain has before it applies the defense debuff.

Personally I'm rather hoping that endurance drain is NOT much of a feature of the set, since in practical terms for most builds that amounts to a low damage set with no useful secondary effect to make up for it.
  21. What with the announcement of Electric Control and trying to think of a thematic combo for it, this popped into my head: how about a shiny metallic theme for Earth/Stone type powers? For one, it would make a good stand-in for "Metal Control"; and thematically, metal-looking versions of earth would go well with say Earth/Elec or Elec/Earth. Perhaps with "rough metal" and "polished metal" variants.

  23. Neat. The moving tails look nice; hopefully the new animated player tails will too. And apparently they did go ahead and use the whip in the henchman enhancement animations - note the scene where she wraps her whip around a demon. So, we won't have to take a personal attack to see the whip.

Well; if she is going to be striking though the air with intangible force, how about Wind Talon or Storm Talon? That would fit both with the nature of her powers and with your other character. Or Far Talon, like the Far Fire bosses.
