Quote:Howdy Folks,
We are currently doing some maintenance to some of our databases on the Training Room. Unfortunately this means that Characters copied or created previously are now temporarily unavailable. If youd like access to a character on the Training Room server, please copy or create a new version.
Thank you for your patience, -
I have a heroine who got her powers by taking a highly illegal Superidine derivative that reliably gives powers, the one time in ten it doesn't kill you. Was she wrong? Yes; she was stupid to take such a near-suicidal risk. But she desperately wanted to be a heroine and got very lucky.

I do like the idea of the upgrades being changed to something like Repel, and using endurance according to how many targets they upgrade. Given that it would also have to check the target to see if it is upgraded or not instead of just hitting everything in range like a normal power might make it hard to implement though.
That said, I prefer the present setup. One thing it lets me do that I couldn't with the old; when something wipes out most or all my pets at once, as long as the summoning powers are recharged I can resummon and upgrade in moments. That's important if it's something like Positron, or if I'm in the middle of a ship raid and just got rezzed. -

Quote:Last I heard, they gave a definite no comment. This is not a new suggestion, heck, this is brought up at least 30 times in a 30 day span. The Devs have said no, and probably will keep saying no.
They did say that it would require different tech than normal Power Customization.
Maybe they will, maybe they won't. They know we want it, and MMs going blueside increases they chance that they'll try due to more players using MMs. They've never said that it's just plain impossible as far as I know, so I see no reason to assume that it'll never happen. -
Wow, Incinerate at 41? I took it at level 2. It's much more important than squeezing in Ring of Fire that early; immobilizes on Doms are something you take late if at all. You certainly shouldn't be taking both immobilizes, especially that early, and especially not using up so many slots on them. Remember; Doms are not Controllers, they don't get Containment damage. Taking one or both out also lets you squeeze in Hasten, which Doms really benefit from.
And Dom melee attacks do more damage as well; another reason to take Incinerate. -

Dark Servant wouldn't make a good primary pet; it would stack way too much with a Dark Servant from a Dark secondary on one hand (which is where Dark Servant belongs), and not contribute to damage on the other. You want something focused more on damage than debuffs; I'd have a power that summons some new pet(s) with a name like "Darkspawn". Heavy negative energy damage but much lower in debuffs than Dark servant.
So a high level Dark/Dark controller in my scheme would for pets have a Dark Servant and one or more Darkspawn. -
I want a Lovecraftian Booster, assuming that the Mutant Booster doesn't fit the bill. Some ideas:
Face tentacles.
A tentacle tail, with eyes and mouths.
Rularuu-like animated eyes for a chest piece, or possibly elsewhere.
A large preferably animated mouth for chest or face (I mean, the whole face being a mouth).
A bunch of tentacle or insectile arms for the back, with eyes and mouths; like the Crab Spiders but more organic.
Lovecraftian Wings; I'm picturing wings with eyes or mouths at the joints.
The Booster Power would be some sort of long recharge Fear aura, with as weird and creepy a visual effect as possible. -
If you are new, an important thing you know is Bodyguard. When a pet is near you and in Defensive/Follow, this is Bodyguard mode; any damage you take is divided between you and it. That makes you much harder to kill, especially with multiple pets.
You can edit your pet control buttons by right clicking on them; also, if you give your pets commands you can drag those commands from the pet window to your power tray. One of the first thing I do on a new MM is change the basic pet commands to Defensive instead of Passive and Aggressive. There are also some quite complicated binds you can use, but I'm not an expert in that.
You can use inspirations on your pets by dragging the inspiration to the pet's name in the pet window, or dropping it directly on the pet. -
Storm is also good for soloing. I find it better than /Rad, actually. You can keep enemies away from melee easier, and it doesn't matter if they run/get knocked out of most of your debuffs.
Dark as said is the best soloist though. -
Here's a thread about it.

It seems to me that the problem of merits concentrating recipes at 50 could be solved with a new crafting function that lets you "rework" the recipe level down to either your present level, or the lowest possible level for the IO.
-
Same here. As someone with a lot of alts, I just haven't accumulated many merits on any one character. I've really reached the point where I don't think about them.

Quote:Notably, she was fighting alongside the newly introduced Thugs Mastermind henchmen. Sounds like yet another woman falling for the bad boys. And it was even caught on film in an OFFICIAL trailer!

Yep, as early as 2006, our intrepid leader is clearly visible in Grandville (starting at 0:59), fighting alongside villains (and she OBVIOUSLY isn't on the Statesman Task Force - so much for that excuse). -
Quote:Hey, all they need to do is offer to weld something cool onto him. And pretend to be scared when he shouts "FEAR ME!"/bug Black Scorpion is not following lore. He does not like working with the likes of Castle and Synapse.
boom
Scorpion's a guy with simple tastes. -
Quote:First, you either brush up against them or pin them in corners. One of my favorites is to stay at the edge of Freezing Rain so enemies that walk out get knocked back in and debuffed. Another is dropping Freezing Rain on the back of a crowd, and running into the front edge of the crowd, knocking them back into the Rain and debuffing them. Which is fun, weakens them, useful against groups spread out too far for Rain, and draws aggro to me instead of my pets.Running in scatters enemies, and they get pushed outside of the range of hurricane or something happens because they don't stay constantly debuffed. Hurricane sadly isn't some magic device for damage mitigation. It works well when you have ranged pets though, to draw enemies to the hurricane. Trying to chase them with it is stupid.
And keep in mind that the debuff from Hurricane take a bit to go away. -
Quote:Then you should have followed them in; smacked the enemy with Hurricane. My Necro/Storm is quite effective. In my opinion, with MMs & Def/Corrs, Storm is best played up close, with hurricane debuffing the enemy.I would like to roll a demon/storm, but the thought of demons running into melee completely negates the benefit of hurricane generally, and to a lesser extent freezing rain. Keeping range is also a form of damage mitigation, and ... ugh.
I tried a zombie storm, and the stupid buggers would just run up to things and die before I could heal them, it was a disaster. -
Way back last April, when Issue 14 came out.
Quote:Pet attack powers (the powers that the pets themselves use, not the summon powers) are no longer affected by recharge changes of any kind in order to fix AI power cycling issues. This means that enhancements, buffs such as Speed Boost, or slows will no longer affect pet attack powers. -

Fake Nemesises don't use fire, but they do have nasty AoE staff attacks. And Warhulks explode.
And in that Herocon demo, we saw Praetorian Clockwork use what looked like an AoE fire attack. -
-
Except for Howling Twilight, I never take rezes. There's always something better available. And I seldom team, so unless they add the ability to rez pets it's of little use anyway.

It's been mentioned that Vigilantes and Rogues won't earn Prestige. If they stay with that model, that's a strong reason not to stay grey; in fact, doing so would likely get you kicked out of many SGs.
