IIRC, the lack of proliferation was one of those things imposed by Statesman like the lack of real numbers, that vanished when he did.

The "Dominator play-experience goal" is "fun"; I and many others would enjoy playing an Illusion Dominator. That's a good enough reason to port the set.

NPC:Stranded Woman: Got another sucker for you, daddy

And then two Bone Daddies popped out of the door behind her and attacked me, I've also seen Tsoo trying to "purse Snatch" from old men carrying big green bags named 'relic Hunters" and I don't think I've seen that before

Is this stuff new, or am I just unobservant?
That was added when War Witch revamped the Hollows a few Issues ago; she put some fun stuff in. Someone I know mentioned Tsoo rappeling out of trees (like the Mastermind Spec Ops summons) and attacking her.

Here's a thought; CoH 2 could be CoH but set 10, twenty years in its future. CoH is full of plotlines that they can't really advance very easily without basically uprooting and rewriting half the game. CoH 2 could have, say, the Rikti at peace with humanity, some new threat taking their place as the Big "Alien" Threat, perhaps with the Rikti allied against them. Arachnos could be broken up into outright warring factions under each Patron, or new patrons (Why are all those Arachnos buildings chrome colored and not black? Why, that's the Silver Mantis faction!) They could keep all the lore, but would have the room to build on it or change things drastically.
  8. I think that in many cases, the answer is "they haven't gotten around to it yet". The fact that powersets weren't "proliferated" from the start is a legacy of past policies that changed (which is why there's been proliferation at all).

Cold Domination I think hasn't been proliferated to Masterminds yet because it has enough thematic/power similarities to Storm that many MMs might have felt cheated. Thermal is much more distinctive.

Actually, the general consensus that it isn't very good might have something to do with it.

If it were really that bad, then brutes wouldn't get dark armor and stone melee either. As long as you can take an alpha on the way in and at least a few other shots during the fight, you aren't in *that* bad of shape for fury.
Also, the new difficulty settings can mitigate that problem; if there aren't enough enemies attacking, just bump up the difficulty. And removing endurance cost from Brawl also helps maintain Fury; just spam that.

And of course, Fury isn't a consideration for scrappers, and they don't get Ice either.
  9. People have been complaining about this since I 17 Closed Beta. I assume it was backburnered in favor of worse problems but yes, we need readable fonts on the things.

For me that would be Vernon von Grun and Television. Vernon is hysterical, and Television is demented.

I like it, it adds atmosphere. They are the only set where I've been startled to turn a corner and run into them.

I actually ran into a Demon summoning MM named Cowapocalypse, described as the Herald of Mooageddon. Black and white with horns of course.

About the only thing against it is that none of it's effects stack with Chemical or Cryo bullets.
Incorrect. You have -damage from Twilight Grasp and Darkest Night to stack with Chemical, and the slow from Tar Patch to stack with Cryo.

Except for my mostly-solo /Storm Corruptors, for whom it would be useless.
  17. These are my two demon summoners:

I did make a point of not making either one black and red, in fact.

I doubt that; its not like there was a shortage of DS teams on Test, the devs already know what they are like. This is just what happens when you have whole teams of masterminds.
  18. I discovered that Global Chat is down only on some servers (Guardian being one) and up on other servers (Triumph and Virtue being up for me). My e-mail and the e-mailed items were apparently nonexistent on Guardian, but I managed to grab my "lost" items on Triumph, and mailed some influence successfully from Virtue to Triumph.

Really? I agree with Muon_Neutrino. I have two or three /TA controllers, and find Ice Arrow very useful to deal with bosses; it makes Hold stacking much faster and easier. As well as making it easier to Hold two enemies, helping with control-light primaries (low level Gravity, say), and makes a nice backup when your primary hold misses.

And anyone who has done what I have done knows what mission THAT MISSION is.
Ah, I recall that. I also recall discovering that almost none of the buildings in CoV would let you do that, and being frustrated at the inability to get atop them without a travel power. That was the Issue just before Mayhems and the jet pack came in.
  21. I don't really have a main as such; just a lot of alts. My two 50 are Mutant and Technology and don't qualify. My highest Magic character is The Darkness That Burns, a bodiless creature of malice and hunger who probably wouldn't join, and if it did so would only do so for the opportunity to attack from behind at the worst, most destructive moment. Not that it'd be invited; I see the interview going something like this:

    Hero 1:
"Well, what can you contribute to our cause?"

Darkness: "Pain. Suffering. Make you all burn, drown the ashes in darkness."

Hero 1: "Ummm. You DO understand the concept of 'team', right?"

Darkness: "Te'Am? Ice demon. His suffering was delicious."

As for one who would join; I think this thread deserves a link. "If one of my heroes was on Omega team..."; a bunch of letters as if written for the recently opened time capsule. Mine was from my DB/Fire brute Burning Blood, who would have gone as he explains:

    Quote:
Written on what has been identified as Behemoth hide, penned in human blood:

Greetings, whomever reads this. I am one of the few of those called villains who has chosen to aid the one called 'Hero 1'. As for why I do so; to understand that you must understand me.

I have long forgotten my true name. Ages ago I was executed for terrible crimes, my soul plunging to the netherworld. But I was not like my fellow damned souls; something, my nature or the blessing of some dark god allowed me to draw strength from that unholy place. I waxed powerful, broke my bonds and went forth into that terrible place of terrible beings, to show them I was more terrible still. I went back and forth across the burning lands, committing crimes and atrocities even more hideous than those I died for. Demons, the damned, all suffered when I came upon them and none could stop me.

Finally in the end my presence was more than even they could tolerate, and the masters of that realm banished me back to this mortal world. Less powerful for I am far from the realm from which I draw power, but still forever wreathed in the hellfire I have earned and with a world of victims before me. And so while some would call my state damnation, I call it paradise; what is the pain of hellfire compared to sating my dreams of blood? And here too in this strange modern world I have committed atrocities, and none have stopped me for long. Again and again the heroes have struck me down, but I am already dead and the lands of the dead reject me.

And then the Rikti came. I fought them along with all the others; blood is blood, whether that of mankind or its enemies. They suffered and died as my victims always do. But I saw how strong they were, and so when the call went out from Hero 1 for volunteers I came.

Are you expecting some tale of how the courage of humanity inspired me and at last I wanted redemption? No. I have chosen to follow Hero 1 because I expect humanity to lose. Even if this plan succeeds, it will be only a matter of time before they gain access to Earth again. And there are too many other dangers...if the Rikti are not the executioners of humanity, something else will be. And then I would be left alone, wandering the dead Earth eternally burning with no sweet blood to bask in. But the Rikti...the Rikti are strong. The Rikti will live, where humanity will not. So, I will go with Hero 1, and I will kill Rikti alongside the others. And then the Rikti will cut us all down.

I will slaughter them as I have slaughtered so many, and they will strike me down as a thousand others have before, and I will rise again as I always have. They will strike me down thinking they have won, not realizing until too late that they have merely inflicted me upon their world instead of yours. I will walk across their lands as I have yours, torturing and murdering, glorying in their blood. And when Earth dies, I will still be there, still killing. I will write the histories of Earth into the flesh of the Rikti, so it shall not be forgotten.

Farewell, and may all your dreams be bloody ones.

    Burning Blood.
  22. I wish we could, then I'd actually take rez powers besides Howling Twilight.
  23. Be careful, there appears to be an intermittent bug where the game eats what you mail. Possibly connected to global chat going down. Global chat is down (on Guardian and Infinity at least), and all my mail vanished including two Winter's Gift Slow Resist IOs.
