Quote:That seems to be a problem better solved by Castle buffing or changing AVs, instead of some global change to powers that'll have dozens or hundreds of other game effects he'll need to chase down and rebalance. And we already know that Castle rather dislikes the fact that players have the ability to floor the stats of AVs that were specifically designed to be challenging, so we can assume that some form of debuffing DR will crop up at some point as new content is released.

You can also copy and paste in game using Control+C to copy, and Control+V to paste. Useful in places where the scrolling up option doesn't work; I use it fairly often when mailing items between characters so I don't need to retype my global name a dozen times.

I think all this talk about adding DR to PvE is mostly just deliberate rumormongering by disgruntled PvPers demonstrating yet again why they are not a popular group; not something to be taken as a serious possibility.
As for wild baseless speculations, I'll toss off a few:
*New character skeletons with more attachment points for costume parts. Like backpacks, for example.
*Asymmetrical costumes.
*The "vanishing contact" technology being expanded to the larger environment, so if a mission ends with the building supposedly being destroyed, you actually see it as being in ruins or on fire but no one else does.
*Personal bases, aka "apartments".
*Offline SG invites, so I don't have to get strangers to help me invite my alts to my one person SGs (please!). -

Quote:*rationalizes furiously*Any guns, rifles or just advanced weaponary. somehow lvling up makes the bullets hurt more.
When your Threat/Security level goes up, you are authorized to use more powerful bullets which are immediately sent to you via the micro-teleporter built into your gun. Something you obviously have or you'd run out of ammo, right? -
They could just hand out both a freespec and a regular respec to everyone, since regular respecs do stack.

It's always been my understanding they are essentially the same, yes.

Another vote for the Wedding Pack. I use those costume parts all the time. And as said, it's cool to throw rosepetals at Singularity. The lacy stuff is nice, and Excess Plus works well on "strong" themed characters, especially when colored black.

Well, there's the argument that if the ghost can turn solid enough to hurt you, you can hurt it back. I recall an amusing scene where the two main characters in the fantasy novel Beyond the Blue Moon used that principle to beat up a ghost.

Hah; I have a Rad/Rad corruptor whose description says that she carefully doesn't mention to her "allies" that her radiation based buffs & heals cause cancer and impotence.
-
It's my understanding that it has been partially fixed. Pets still won't go on it as long as it lasts, but they don't panic and run away, and they don't care about it once it expires.

I'd say it depends rather like Ice Control on how much you solo, and to a degree how many veteran attacks you have. It's a low damage, good control set; if you solo a lot Doms are going to be generally better since their secondary supplies plenty of damage. And if you have multiple veteran attacks, on a Controller you can take a defense debuffing secondary and supplement your damage with them while solo.
But if you team all the time the low damage doesn't matter, and the Controller will have the edge thanks to being better able to help the team with buffs and debuffs. -
The sound effect for the Radiation Snipe Proton Volley sounds exactly like the green disintegration blasts the Martians use in the classic version of War of the Worlds. Looks a lot like them too, so I doubt it's a coincidence.

I've heard people complain recently that ranged pets like Mercs are presently bugged and tend to run into melee even if they have no melee attacks.

Quote:Let's see, off the top of my head there are the CoT ghosts, Tsoo Ancestral Spirits, BP zombies, invasion zombies, Shivans* , the Lich in Darrin Wade's arc, Croatoan ghosts, Ghost Ship ghosts, and Spectral Pirates. That's a fair amount of undead. Are there really enough ghosts in the game that this Ax really pays off or it is just a non-choice and sands is always better unless you want an Ax for concept reasons?
As for me, I take it on characters that use negative energy attacks since the undead resist those so much.
* Yes, it does work on Shivans, the reference in their description to "ectoplasm" is apparently not a mistaken term. -
-
Yes, they will be slottable just as always. No mention has been made of changing their strength, so there's no reason to assume any change in how strong they are.
-
Also, slot at least one -tohit SO in that power when you can; Fearsome Stare's degradation of the enemy's accuracy helps a lot.

Quote:The worst from that series would have to be the powers of the Burning Woman. Who burned, and burned, and burned without dying, until someone mercy killed her.Wild Cards!! (For those of you who don't know, George R. R. Martin has edited a long running series of books (with various authors) about an alien virus that gave people super powers. 90% of the people who get the virus die -- called drawing the Black Queen. Of the remaining 10%, 9% become disfigured -- they are called Jokers. The last 1% get super powers -- they are Aces unless the power is minor. Then they are called Deuces.)
I don't know . . . the one I would least want to be is Snotman, or maybe Bloat.
Of powers that don't harm you directly, one bad one would be the power of a character from Spider Robinson Callahan's Place story Fivesight; "just a little bit better than foresight." He can see future disasters coming, but can't do anything to stop them. He basically has two choices; do nothing and feel horribly guilty, or show up with what he needs to help with the aftermath, in which case people start suspecting that he's somehow arranging all those accidents to look heroic. -
What I want the most:
Dominators: Illusion, some kind of Dark Assault
Controllers: Traps, Pain Domination
Stalkers: Axe (and the Assassin's Strike must be named "Executioner's Axe!")
Brutes: Either Sword set and Ice Armor
Scrappers: Ninjutsu
Masterminds: Radiation Emission
Corruptors: Psi Blast
Blasters: Dark Blast/Martial Arts or Superstrength -
Ten Thousand Fists In The Air by Disturbed works for both Brutes and Masterminds, I find.
