Oh, its been pointed out repeatedly. I also recall very similar posts complaining that Earth/ would be weak on dominators because it uses so many pseudo-pets that aren't affected by Domination. Didn't turn out that way...

Ha, what is already there is good enough that I didn't notice the lack of proliferation until this thread pointed it out.
And as has often been pointed out, you are wrong. -

It was said a while back (in one of those Q&A sessions I think) that they intended to give players access to a bunch of presently NPC-only costume pieces. He may be working on making them fit player character models.

Given how weird time travel can be, maybe Praetorian Nemesis DID start Ouro there, then some time traveller intervened to ensure that a certain Praetorian-Prussian toymaker never became Nemesis, and Praetorian Ouros only existed from then on as some sort of stable time loop with no apparent origin. It would fit the name "Ouroboros"...

Quote:I don't know, but it looks like the mysterious Letter Writer may not have been bluffing about the underlined:And seeing Ouroboros that way... Does that mean that Tyrant/Emperor Cole is the herald of the Coming Storm?
Quote:While time traveling into the past, you visit a 5th Column base and in a crate you find a hand written letter addressed to you...
Hello, Character. Please forgive the impersonal form of communication. I do not yet trust you for an in-person meeting; this was the only way that I could be sure you would still receive this message. Time travel does unpredictable things to electronics, magic and bionetics; otherwise, I would have chosen a more contemporary method. Obviously, we both know that you have begun time traveling. This may be new to you, but for me and mine it is well documented.
Ouroboros has made its presence known to your city, likely espousing some rhetoric regarding a 'rapture' or an 'apocalypse' or some other vague, well-crafted phrase from Mender Silos. I am writing to tell you not to trust him or his Menders. They claim to 'fix' the time stream to avoid a cataclysmic event in the future, but do not believe them. You may not believe me yet, that is fine, prudent in fact, but let me ask you this: if there is truly an event of this nature on the horizon, why did they not take you there? Are you not one of the chosen keepers of the secret? Have you stopped to ask what secret they are really guarding?
I warn you: do not openly question Ouroboros. That would be foolish. I simply ask that you search for more of my letters and seek me in the pillar. When the time is right, I will make myself known. You will either be at my side, tearing down the enclave or you will be buried under its ruins as it falls into the sea. The choice is yours. -
I'm glad for the new animations; now I won't have to come up with an explanation for why his power armor lets a fire blast user breath fire.
Quote:The new Tips ARE new content.Beyond that, I'm really happy to hear about new Tip missions, and sort of hope they get expanded in terms of scope as well (for example, being able to do "Rogue" tips in Paragon would be kinda nice). The new animations sound like they might be interesting as well.
I'm a touch disappointed all the new content is in the form of Task Forces, though, but I'm willing to cope, I suppose (so long as they're better than Barracuda, at least!). -
Kind of the opposite actually. I try to ensure that each server has a varied mix of character types. If a new character is similar in powersets or appearance or backstory to an older one, I generally make it on another server.

Yes, the "Nice day, isn't it" bug. Some NPCs who are supposed to reply with varied comments when clicked these days only say that. It's been like that for quite a while.

They do that now. Before trees and their strong roots there weren't any plants that could break up rock to form much of what we'd call soil in the first place. Trees create soil. Even today, a key part of transforming rocky ground into soil is when the trees start growing there and breaking up the rocks.

For one I like, I'll reprint my post from this old thread about "If one of my heroes was on Omega team..." It's a letter written as if my DB/Fire brute Burning Blood was one of the supers (some were villains, not heroes) on Omega team who went to the Rikti homeworld and left behind a letter in that time capsule. It contains his origin story, so:
Quote:Written on what has been identified as Behemoth hide, penned in human blood:
Greetings, whomever reads this. I am one of the few of those called villains who has chosen to aid the one called 'Hero 1'. As for why I do so; to understand that you must understand me.
I have long forgotten my true name. Ages ago I was executed for terrible crimes, my soul plunging to the netherworld. But I was not like my fellow damned souls; something, my nature or the blessing of some dark god allowed me to draw strength from that unholy place. I waxed powerful, broke my bonds and went forth into that terrible place of terrible beings, to show them I was more terrible still. I went back and forth across the burning lands, committing crimes and atrocities even more hideous than those I died for. Demons, the damned, all suffered when I came upon them and none could stop me.
Finally in the end my presence was more than even they could tolerate, and the masters of that realm banished me back to this mortal world. Less powerful for I am far from the realm from which I draw power, but still forever wreathed in the hellfire I have earned and with a world of victims before me. And so while some would call my state damnation, I call it paradise; what is the pain of hellfire compared to sating my dreams of blood? And here too in this strange modern world I have committed atrocities, and none have stopped me for long. Again and again the heroes have struck me down, but I am already dead and the lands of the dead reject me.
And then the Rikti came. I fought them along with all the others; blood is blood, whether that of mankind or its enemies. They suffered and died as my victims always do. But I saw how strong they were, and so when the call went out from Hero 1 for volunteers I came.
Are you expecting some tale of how the courage of humanity inspired me and at last I wanted redemption? No. I have chosen to follow Hero 1 because I expect humanity to lose. Even if this plan succeeds, it will be only a matter of time before they gain access to Earth again. And there are too many other dangers...if the Rikti are not the executioners of humanity, something else will be. And then I would be left alone, wandering the dead Earth eternally burning with no sweet blood to bask in. But the Rikti...the Rikti are strong. The Rikti will live, where humanity will not. So, I will go with Hero 1, and I will kill Rikti alongside the others. And then the Rikti will cut us all down.
I will slaughter them as I have slaughtered so many, and they will strike me down as a thousand others have before, and I will rise again as I always have. They will strike me down thinking they have won, not realizing until too late that they have merely inflicted me upon their world instead of yours. I will walk across their lands as I have yours, torturing and murdering, glorying in their blood. And when Earth dies, I will still be there, still killing. I will write the histories of Earth into the flesh of the Rikti, so it shall not be forgotten.
Farewell, and may all your dreams be bloody ones.

If you are looking for examples of non-human life destroying the environment, just consider the appearance of green plants. They poisoned the environment with highly toxic and corrosive oxygen, destroying everything that failed to adapt to it or hide from it. Unless we get to the point where we render the atmosphere and hydrosphere fatal to all present life, we won't equal that.
Trees also devastated the planet; they poisoned the oceans by breaking up rock with their roots and causing a massive flow of dissolved minerals into the ocean. -
And it's hardcore mode only; die once and you have to roll a new alt.

More the rar slash slash slash type. We already have Duals Blades and now Claws brutes and they work fine thematically, edged weapons or not.
As an aside, I strongly suspect that the minor redside character Bloody Vicious is a reference to him. -
They've been trying to fix it for years, which is why it's better than it used to be. It's not that they don't care or don't know, it's that it's apparently a really hard bug to fix.

I've no problem thinking of Katana as brutish, personally. When I think of a Katana brute, I think of Vicious from Cowboy Bebop. Even his name sounds brutish!

Axe is all knockdown, Mace has knockdown and disorients. Smashing damage is also less resisted. Those are pluses for Mace.

Right after Shields came out I recall coming across a Shield/Ice tank named Captain Canada; made me laugh.
-
I do so on occasion. Recently I made Winds of War, a Mercenary/Storm mastermind because I thought of the name. I also made Steelstorm my DB/Regen and Mother of Machines my Bots/FF because of the name.

Some female player really needs to answer "Estrogen".

My brother gave it to me as a Christmas gift. I tried it out and here I am, years later. It helped that I've always been a superhero fan.
