I recall a Youtube clip someone made in Open Beta, where the screen was filled with ash from the ember demon and the sound was hideous - it sounded like a buzzsaw made of jackhammers and was loud enough to drown out everything else.

Another possibility would be Vanguard. A varied group with a foot in both the hero and villain worlds. The backstory could be that Vanguard has decided to train up new members by assigning them to work as heroes or to try and climb to the Social-Darwinist top of the heap in the Rogue Isles. The theory being hey, look at the powerful people those paths already produce. As you advance in levels more Vanguard storylines open up; you discover Rikti infiltrators, assassinate Praetorians who aren't playing nice in their new world, that sort of thing.
4. I'd say that Batman is all over the map actually.

You also rescue "The Justifier", a Devoured hero. "You will be remade within the Hamidon as I was!"
6. Between "XP smoothing" and Patrol XP, I don't really have much interest in Double XP anymore. I actually find myself turning off XP a fair amount to avoid outleveling things.

There's a severe exploit active right now I'm told (again).
7. I also have multiple travel powers on several characters. I often take Superspeed for a non-slowing stealth pool power - it really only counts effectively as one extra power choice since I almost always take Hasten anyway. Flight + Superspeed lets my characters stealth though most missions when I feel like doing so. Flying with Superspeed on does look fairly cool I think, better than it does for running actually. And on long flat areas I can move much faster than Fly, and then just zip over obstacles as they come.
8. IIRC there was an early War Machine enemy called Cold Warrior who absorbed kinetic energy and turned it into blasts.

Since heat is the random motion of particles, it makes sense that absorbing kinetic energy would cause cold. I have an Ice/Kin Corr named The Angel of Winter with that as an explanation for why she has that combination of abilities.
9. Drat. I pretty much expected it, but drat all the same.
10. The idea as I understand it is that if you could use such buffs on yourself they'd be too powerful. Self buffs like Accelerated Metabolism or Unyielding tend to be either weaker or come with a crash, compared to buffs on others like ally Force Field bubbles.

I agree. They suddenly imposed tighter and rather silly rules about what can be said on the forums, and suddenly the devs aren't talking nearly as much. And fired one of the devs (BaB) who talked the most. Someone higher up is getting control-freaky.

Not practical I think, since the Kheldian bug is related to inherent Stamina. I doubt the system is set up to exclude just 2 arbitrary ATs from the change. And delaying inherent Stamina...would not be popular.
12. Thugs/Poison is the best /Poison combo in my opinion, since you can put Noxious Gas on the Bruiser (it's stronger on third tier pets). And you have the Bruiser to take alphas for you, useful when you have a single target heal. If you have Going Rogue Demons/Poison might be good.

Bots/TA and Thugs/TA are the best /TA combos IMO.
13. Not everyone powerlevels to 50. If I only slotted level 50 IOs, then I'd have exactly two characters with IOs. Personally, I slot IOs at 32 (because that's when level 35 IOs become usable).

So far, I've only seen one Praetor and the Provost who I like and only one Resistance leader (well, two if you count GW's Praetorian alt), and frankly, since I am 2 levels from completing 1-20 of being a Loyalist and 6 from completing the same as a Resistance, I still am intent on finding out about a few iconic people I haven't seen yet. Fact remains that seeing the gold star and thinking villain is absurdly naieve, just as seeing the three blue chevrons and thinking hero is likewise profoundly ignorant. The good guys are the Wardens and Responsibility Loyalists, while the bad guys are the Power Loyalists and Crusaders.
You are responding to a thread from 2009, before anyone knew that there were such things as "Crusaders", "Wardens", etc.
15. Of the energy Corruptors I've tried, the Energy/Storm combination seemed to work the best, with Energy/Traps the runner up.
16. I've never used merits either. I play an awful lot of alts which means I don't have much on any one character. I also almost never do TFs. And I don't want to use random rolls because odds are it'll just be garbage. I don't think I've actually even looked at how many merits i have on any of my characters for months.

As for Inf, I have one character with over 100 million, and that's only because of two lucky drops. For most of my characters a million or two is about it. I certainly don't have a "billion inf build" on any of my characters; I wouldn't have that much if I combined everything I have on one character.
17. Personally, I'd regard a server list merge as a chance to fill up two servers worth of free slots (since French and German might as well be Martian to me). I'd love it.

Certainly. Server culture matters. If I could assign free slots to other servers instead of just moving characters out of them I'd have no one at all on Freedom for example. And some people find RPers really irritating and would therefore prefer to avoid Virtue. I'm not into RP, but at least the RPers tend to be a lot more literate than Freedom.
18. Whirling Hands is generally considered the worst power in /Energy last I heard. In Mind/, Total Domination is often skipped; some people like, some people hate Telekinesis.

Make a point of picking up Mass Hypnosis; for a Mind/EN soloist like yourself that is extremely effective. Sleep a group, then smack them down one by one.

Also grab Mesmerize; it will sleep a Boss in one shot.
19. No, it'll be Rock. The one power that can defeat the invading Scissors People.

I seem to recall it being mentioned in another thread that the bug is that Lingering Rad won't apply the speed debuff unless the target is hit with a second speed debuff. Rain of Fire has such a runspeed debuff, so when you apply both RoF and LR the LR debuff starts working.
22. Poison Pill's old numbers are still accurate as far as I know:

Even the mightiest foe will stop dead in their tracks, and left helpless as he empties the contents of his stomach.

Level: 38
Range: 30
End: 22.75
Duration: 45 Seconds
Recharge: 300 seconds

This is it, this is why you take thugs and poison. Noxious Gas works when applied to a pet and creates a 30' gaseous cloud around the pet. It only lasts 45 seconds so the pet needs to be up close and personal with the target and stay there to get the biggest affect. Since the bruiser works best when he's in the middle of the action it creates the best synergy of the two powers. It may take a level or two to really get the hang of it down to maximize the effectiveness so give it a chance. Now let's look at the numbers to see why NG is such a big deal:

-10% ToHit to Target for 20 seconds

-20% Smashing Enhancement to Target for 20 seconds
-20% Lethal Enhancement to Target for 20 seconds
-20% Fire Enhancement to Target for 20 seconds
-20% Cold Enhancement to Target for 20 seconds
-20% Energy Enhancement to Target for 20 seconds
-20% negative_Energy Enhancement to Target for 20 seconds
-20% Toxic Enhancement to Target for 20 seconds
-20% Psionic Enhancement to Target for 20 seconds

-20% Defense to Target for 20 seconds

-30% Resistance(Smashing) to Target for 20 seconds
-30% Resistance(Lethal) to Target for 20 seconds
-30% Resistance(Fire) to Target for 20 seconds
-30% Resistance(Cold) to Target for 20 seconds
-30% Resistance(Energy) to Target for 20 seconds
-30% Resistance(negative_Energy) to Target for 20 seconds
-30% Resistance(Toxic) to Target for 20 seconds
-30% Resistance(Psionic) to Target for 20 seconds

Effect 1000 Held to Target for 4 seconds (0% chance) [Non-resistible]

As you can see NG debuffs across the board and it stacks with Envenom and Weaken. Go look again I'll wait. Now note there is a multiplier depending which tier pet you apply Noxious Gas. The numbers above are based on a tier 2 which has 1.00 multiplier. The tier 1 pets have a 0.75 multiplier. Your tier three bruiser has a 1.25 multiplier. Further reinforcing that Noxious Gas and the bruiser have the best synergy. Using the bruiser your debuffs are 12.5%, 25% & 37.5%.

I look at it this way. Plant is so strong it doesn't even take its aoe sleep which is identical to mass hypnosis including not doing any damage, except for the mob notify (which is really only an issue on the LRSF).
Plant also has an AoE spamming pet that will wake up anything you sleep; Mind doesn't.

Seeker Drones by themselves should guarantee that much, outside of AoE happy mobs. Drop the Drones into the spawn and send in the Ninjas as the enemy wastes their alpha attack. Seeker Drones are great for increasing survivability.
