Along with [Divine Core Oscillation] and [Paradox Core Eternity]. All three listed here.

Oranbega maps on my Bots/Storm are quite fun, all these nasty CoT trying to force their way though a tight tunnel filled with knockback-laden lightning and Tornadoes and Hurricane...

    Merc/Traps?

Well, don't take the pistols then, they aren't worth it anyway.

    Merc/Traps?

Thugs/Traps is great. High damage, the Enforcer's Defense aura stacks with Force Field Generator, and I've never noticed a major problem with knockback. Especially since they fiddled with the Bruiser a while back.

Using Group Fly is more likely to get you kicked than the knockback, thanks to the large -accuracy debuff it hits your teammates (and bots) with.

Ha, yes. I like my level 41 Bots/Storm villain so much I went and rolled a Praetorian Bots/Storm in order to have a second one heroside.

    Any bright ideas?
Thug control! You snap your fingers and guys run in from off screen and put your target in an armlock!

More seriously, I once casually threw together an "Arrow Control" powerset to go with Trick Arrow:

    Quote:
Archery Control, as a counterpart for Trick Arrow. Something like this (the first two pretty much have to be copies of TA powers):

1: Entangling Arrow: Single target immobilize.

2: Freeze Arrow: Single target hold.

3: Net Arrow: AoE net style immobilize.

4: Incendiary Arrow: Causes moderate fire damage with DoT on target, and can spread to nearby targets. A chain effect, like Chain Induction. Useful for lighting Oil Slick too.

5: Barbed Arrow: This painful and difficult to remove arrow disables the target for some time. Single target slow/damage & accuracy debuff power, minor DoT damage.

6: Stun Arrow: AoE stun, the bread-and-butter AoE control power.

    7: Cryogenic Arrow: AoE Hold.

8: Arrow Storm: By unleashing a massive flurry of arrows you drive your enemies into a panicked attempt to escape the onslaught. A Rain of Arrows style targeted AoE that does minor damage but causes Fear.

9: Summon Disciples: Your martial prowess has attracted fellow devotees of the ancient forms of combat whom you can summon to aid you in battle. You summon three human NPC pets, which are randomly either archers or swordfighters.
You could also vary the control mechanisms, use some throwing-object animations and call it Ninjutsu Control.

    Merc/Traps?

Well, it works pretty good in PvE (or did, the present AI issues screw up ranged henchmen). It's no Bots/Traps, but Mercs are only weak by MM standards.

I never PvP, so I can't answer that.
  8. Well, I don't know what's causing the loading problems for you today but the forum seems to be loading just fine for me. But I do agree that in general the new forums haven't worked all that well.
  9. Earth/Fire (or Earth/ anything, really) also has the advantage that with all the -def in Earth/ you can skimp a bit on slotting for accuracy, which is nice at the lower levels because Doms are really slot hungry then.

More like 40-50 I think? At any rate it gives a countdown so you shouldn't be blindsided.
  11. If anything it's better, you no longer need to suffer 38 levels of awful damage.

And technically speaking it wasn't a nerf, it was a fix; the power was badly bugged. Castle knew it for a long time too, but the rest of the set was so bad off that properly balancing PS by itself would have crippled it completely. So he let it slide until he had the time to properly rebalance the whole powerset.
  12. No; I missed it. Anyone take screen shots? I'm not likely to have any more new 50s for quite some time.
  13. Items and inf can now be e-mailed, just use your @globalname.

Heroes and villains can now trade. Markets are merged.

The last few enemies/glowies will now show up on the map (usually). Useful with kill-alls and such.

You can now have more active missions.

Conserve Power in Electric Armor is now Energize, is acts as a regeneration boost now.

Temperature Control in Fire armor now grants slow resistance.

Vigilance was buffed, if you like Defenders. It now increases damage on small teams/solo.

Did you get the Martial Arts Superbooster, aka the Natural Pack? Ninja Run alone is worth the price, and I like the costumes too.

Probably a placeholder. I recall before the Halloween Event was first implemented teleporting to Nerva from my SG, and running into a male scientist calling himself "Granny Beldam".

I doubt it, due to it lacking tools to keep your pets alive /kinetics would have been a marginally playable set for Masterminds even before the Great Recharge Nerf. I wouldn't both making one unless the Mastermind version of /kin was seriously changed and buffed for them. /Kin is hard to port because it is too weak for an MM, not too strong.

Randomly activating various attacks with some delay is better than only using Head Splitter and nothing else.
AI issues were at most a side issue; Castle admitted at the time the change was to stop things like Lightning Storm and Fire Imps from overperforming.

Demons being implemented has been blamed for whatever AI changes causes pets of every type to now run into melee, even those without melee attacks like Phantasm.

And I just fought her on my level 40 Bots/Storm. She really doesn't like /Storm; she immediately started running this time as well.

Endurance recovery, you'll want that. Probably not slows; you'll be putting everything at the slow cap without trying. Maybe some defense, to stack with the -accuracy effect of Hurricane. Possibly a stealth IO to stack with Steamy Mist. Either a Karma or Steadfast to protect from knockback; either can fit in Steamy. You'll want -accuracy and end reduction in Hurricane, resist and endurance reduction in Steamy Mist.

  19. Both combos are good. Energy does have solo synergy; you can Sleep entire spawns easily early on with Mass Hypnosis, and kill them one by one.

On the other hand...yes, Drain Psyche IS that good.
  20. Level 37 SS/WP Brute: Beat her with most of a tray of Inspirations.

Level 50 Ill/Rad Controller: Crushed her like a bug, repeatedly.

Level 50 Bots/Traps Mastermind: Squashed her without losing a pet.

Level 35 Fortunata in a team against the AV version: Beat her repeatedly, some deaths on the team do to crashing defense/resistances. Her defense regularly crashed to a few percent even with Mind Link.

  23. I fought him on my Bots/Traps, he was noticeably harder. And the bugged pet AI didn't help since whenever he fell into the lava my bots tended to jump in after him and fry.
  24. I fought her on my level 37 SS/WP brute; I won, but used most of a tray of Inspirations in the process.

I fought her on my level 50 Ill/Rad and ate her alive. As said, she's weak at ranged, and she doesn't like -regen at all. I also managed to successfully Hold her off and on.

I fought the AV version of her on a team with my Fortunata. We won repeatedly, but those nasty -def debuffs caused a few deaths. My Fortunata's Mindlinked defense values would crash to a few percent on a regular basis.

I've tried twice solo on my heroic Fortunata, once in Steel and once in Founder's; was sent to Atlas both times.
