Quote:Nope. Not even remotely the same. What about Fortunata Psi Tornado? Is it the same as the storm tornado (except needing accuracy)?
I've never used the power, since I dislike the KB effect.
Psionic Tornado is just a target AoE attack which has a chance to knockup.
Tornado is a pet summon that left unchecked will wreak untold havoc and chaos upon the field. -
Quote:It's not about putting Bonfire back into the powers graveyard.I find it ironic that most people on the troller forum would have putting bonfire in the 'mostly' skippable column some month ago if asked. Now a proc comes along, which is causing people to stick it back in their build... and some wish to return it back to graveyard of skipped powers.
And by the way, you could have the same discussion about tornado. Lets see, auto-hit, good damage, rarely used till the kb proc came out.
It's about Bonfire+proc basically outperforming entire other control sets on its own.
One power plus one proc = permanent AoE total lockdown. That's absolutely broken. -
Quote:Again, you're saying that because Bonfire+Proc don't break iTrials that everything is fine, without regard to the fact that incarnate trials are in and of themselves outliers in general game performance, and still only a small portion of the overall game.Off the top of my head, Greater Devoured and Seers (which hover and don't get affected, it seems). Both of which whooped my butt several times on a recent UG. Heck UG has packs of mobs that are *just* Greater Devoureds.
Again, hyperbole aside, in my experience running itrials this isn't really making that much of a difference on my fire/rad. In part because of all the immobs being thrown around (people keep AOE-immobing groups, which nullifies BF). In part because of the mobs that resist it.
Gee OK maybe it is helping ppl level up on blasters or whatever but I'm not seeing that.
As someone who leveled an electric/ controller through Praetoria, I can assure you that non-incarnate Seers are just as vulnerable to Knock* effects as rank and file Hellions. -
Quote:Soo.... this isn't ridiculously overpowered, because it doesn't work in situations where no other control powers work?Meh, so put a target cap if you are that concerned.
I have this on my 50 incarnate Fire/Rad troller and seriously in my play it has not really made a big difference. Even on the escapee phase of the BAF -- you still get the Lts running right through it. And on trials like BAF or SLAM, ok maybe it helps you a little avoid the alpha from a group around crates or whatever, but with all the immobs being thrown around, the flopping stops almost immediately. And it does basically nothing to the AVs that didn't happen before.
I seriously have not seen it be game breaking in any way for me. My Fire/Rad doesn't feel significantly overpowered on trials vs. 3 weeks ago -- even on frakking Mag farms. *shrug* -
Quote:This sums up my position pretty well.I don't think having an obviously-heat-based power like Steam Spray deal the obviously-heat-based damage type is a situation that actually needs to be corrected, certainly not by changing every fire power in existence.
I mean, I don't really care one way or the other, but Developer time could definitely be better spent on something other than tracking down a bajillion bits of random code and changing four letters (f-i-r-e) into four different letters (h-e-a-t) for what amounts to not a damned bit of difference. -
Quote:While Singularity does use Repel (the power), none of the powers in the entire game with Repel or Repulsion in their names actually are repel (the effect) they are all knockback.*It has to be a power with damage. It would be nice if wormhole could indeed take it and stop throwing stuff everywhere. And, singularity uses repel for his aura, not knockback
.
Thus the proc would work in Singularity... and since it doesn't appear that Singularity's Repel has the self -End penalty when it knocks a target, it wouldn't absolutely murder his blue bar, like such a proc would do to a player if it could be slotted into Kinetics' Repel.**
*Repel: Knockback
Repulsion Bomb: Knockdown
Sonic Repulsion: Knockback
Repulse (before it got changed to Disrupt): Knockback
Repulsing Torrent: Knockback
** Though thinking about it, I'm not sure whether the proc actually would have any affect on Singularity's Repel at all, given how slotted enhancements work with pet powers. Yes you can slot it into Singularity, but since Repel deals no damage I don't think it matters. -
I've got to agree that this proc in Bonfire has created an obvious outlier in performance which needs to be addressed.

Quote:Also, corsages as a chest detail:... Can I have my 'Flower In Hair' Head Detail?
Maybe some flower bracelets? Armlets? Choker? Belt? Anklets?
My inner tree-hugger demands it! The current "Plant" options scream "RRRAGH MUTANT!" more than "Nature loving~!"
... Also I like flowers. And am jealous of that ugly Plant hairstyle that has a flower >_>!
This could totally be a costume pack!
Head Detail 1: Flower Accessory
Head Detail 2: Flower Choker
Shoulder Detail 1: Flower Armlets
Hand Detail 1: Flower Bracelets
Waist Detail 1: Flower Belt
Feet Detail 1: Flower Anklets
Robe/Jacket/Shirt Detail 1: Flora Top
Skirt Detail 1: Flora Skirt
Weapon Detail 1: Rose Rapiers, because classy.
And since I'm sure some people would prefer more thorny-barbed accessories, so that could be an alternative!
... Sue me I'm silly and like flowers.
And boutonnieres for us menfolk:

Quote:Electric Assault used to be good, before the devs practically gutted it in their misguided attempt to make Energy Assault king of single target assault sets.I'm not going to go into huge detail about this, but if Electric Blast is awful then that means Electricity Assault is too. It misses out on a number of things that are standard to Assault sets, such as a Utility/Survivability power (e.g. Drain Psyche, Chilling Embrace, etc), a PBAoE (e.g. Engulfing Darkness, Tremor, etc), and a Tier 3 blast (e.g. Blaze, Power Burst, etc). The lack of these things hurts the set quite considerably.
Really Electric has barely any more AoE damage than Energy, and now has terrible single target damage to go along with it.
The only plus to Electric Assault is that come issue 24's sniper changes, every once in awhile they can use Build Up and hit insta-Zapp. -
We know that they recently added the tech to allow a power to do something different depending on what it's targeting, and the tech for a power to be able to be used on multiple different types of target: Defeated Foe/Conscious Foe (Darkness Affinity's Soul Absorption) and Defeated Ally/Conscious Ally (Nature Affinity's Rebirth) so maybe they could make Soul Extraction function both ways.
If it's targeting a defeated pet, it behaves the same as it currently does. If it's targeting a living pet, it summons the spirit then blows up the targeted pet.
The net result is the same, lose one pet, gain another, but this would allow the MM greater control over WHEN they can activate the power.
Quote:I could also see it being more like the Warshade Dark Extraction power which targets a defeated foe, rather than your own defeated pet.You know, really, every other MM set that has some sort of 'extra pet' (Gang War, Hell on Earth) allow those extra pets to be summoned without needing to kill one of your existing pets to do so. It always struck me as a bit odd that Necromancy had to use this mechanic once those other extra pet sets were out and didn't require anything similar. Instead, I think Soul Extraction should work without needing to target a dead pet.
Obviously, some tweaks would need to be done to the power, since I believe the pet it summons still has three different forms based on the pet on which it is used. And, thematically, it may make sense to require a corpse be targeted in order to use the power, but it seems like it shouldn't require the corpse of one of your own pets.
Just my 2 inf. -
Quote:I believe that the way it works is that there are four temples (North, South, East, West) two for Men (North, South) two for Women (East, West) and that they follow a fairly migratory path from one to the other.I use Air Nomad because Aang used Air Nomad, but the term never made much sense to me. They all live in giant (immobile) monestaries. How nomadic would we really describe them?
When and where they meet up to make baby airbenders I have no idea. -
Quote:On the male model at least, the blade most often extends from your middle/ring fingers, through the flat of your fist (Ouch!).Now if I'm seeing this right, the extending widow blade actually comes from under than with the rest of the claws.
Does this mean Widows are supposed to be like Assassins and are using the poisoned hidden blade?
Honestly, I don't think they would need to change it at all. The extendable blade is there for probably less than a second, it's not exactly a big flashy effect.
None of the claw customization options cover the flat of your fist (they all attach to the top of your hand), so it's unlikely that the extended blade would clip with them.
I don't think that simply using the exact same animations with the other claw options would really be that big of a deal. -
Quote:Oh I agree, Gravity still needs improvements. Particularly since the last batch of updates really just made Gravity better at the niche it already filled (single target damage) without really doing that much to improve it's overall control. (Dimension Shift is never going to be a go to control power, and the massive KB in Wormhole still sucks.)grav is still somewhat of a mess
ahwell. it works, and im using to for ST damage and the tp, not exactly for the control so...
I just doubt we're going to see any more any time soon. -
Quote:I might suggest pretty much anything from Two Steps From Hell.I love hearing what people listen to when playing these arcs. There are a lot of pieces of music I listen to when actually making the maps and missions for arcs to get myself in the right mindset.
While setting up the scene in Cimerora, I was listening to Chrono Cross: Orphanage of Flame
For the scene in Dream Doctor's mission when you first confront Mot, I was listening to Lord of the Rings: The End of All Things while making the cutscene and mission.
While working on the final mission in Dark Astoria, I was listening to several pieces to get into a epic mood. A few were:
Lord of the Rings: Final Battle (Theater Production)
Bayonetta: The Greatest Jubilee
Lastly, when writing Aaron Walker's scene in Dark Watcher's arc, I was listening to LOST: Looking Glass Half Full (Contains spoilers to LOST - Warning!)
My personal favorites at the moment being Exodus, Archangel, Nemesis, United We Stand, Divided We Fall and Nero. (Admittedly Nero may not exactly be epic combat music.)
The piece from them people are most likely to recognize is Freedom Fighters. -
Quote:The fact that GD negates knock is exactly WHY it was used as the trigger. Impact is basically just an apology for making your primary hold negate your soft control powers.I recently made a grav troller, and the impact mechanic on lift is somewhat lackluster, propel is alright, but lift could use more.
What i would've LOVED to see done with lift is a splash AOE when i meets the impact requirment. 10 ft radius and could effect 16 foes, with equal KU and much reduced damage.
In my mind, propel shouldve been the "Impact" Damage dealer, considered what its used for, and lift shouldve been the control counterpart, not the other way around.
Its a dream...
EDIT: And why was GD picked as the trigger?! i mean for cryin out loud it negates KB/KU/KD! WAI!
erm... end rant
"Here, have some extra damage to make up for that."
Impact actually has a larger benefit on Lift that Propel, also. Both powers trigger the same 0.3scale Impact damage, but Lift animates and recharges faster, so sees a higher increase in overall damage output.
Honestly I do agree that Lift would have made more sense as the AoE soft control than Propel does, but 1) The devs weren't going to give Grav an AoE control(even a limited one) at level 1 and 2) They wanted to add it to Propel to make it "worth taking" particularly on Dominators, who have better attacks in most of their secondaries anyhow. -
/signed a thousand times
If I could actually use different claws, I might actually bother playing as a Nightwidow once in awhile. -
Quote:You, me, and thousands upon thousands of others.Nooo! My nerdiness will be stripped away! I must resign before it's to late. lol
MtG...god I sure did waste a lot of money on the game : /.
Hell I've never even been able to play the last deck I made, cause the only people I really played with aren't exactly on speaking terms with one another anymore. -
Quote:I'd say it's too late for that... the damage has been done... <see SSA1>I wouldn't want to see any of them redeemed. Instead of having Anti Matter become important, or Dominatrix, why not invest that effort into Positron or Miss Liberty and keep our Primal Heroes relevant and show them as competent?

Honestly, I can't see how anyone familiar with the internet, and geek culture in particular, could have not seen the absolute excrement storm such a comment about her would invariably create.

Haha, nice.
The Medic one is freakin hilarious though.
