I know I'm late to the party, but are all 98 sketches already taken? I'd love to finally have an image of Oathbound that looks how I picture him, instead of how the game displays him. -

Okay, Ltn_Frost, I have two questions here.
First off, how the heck did you do the 'pillows' on that bed. I've pretty much figured out how you did the rest - although I'm still scratching my head over the footrail posts.
Second, you have a 'handle' on the shower door. I've seen that on a few refridgirators. How the heck do you get that in there. I've searched through everything, and have yet to come across anything remotely like that that I feel I could use.
[/ QUOTE ]
The foot rail posts are two bookshelf ends turned so that the shelves are in the middle. -
I'd like all the plants in the base editor to be broken apart.
Divide them into 2 segments, Plant, and Pot. This way those of us who are trying to make outdoor areas don't have to find ways to disguise the pots (or bury them in the ground), and those who want potted plants can just overlay/stack one on the other. -

The water effect is made with the Slow Field defensive item. I recommend using the Arcane version, since the item itself is smaller and less noticeable than the Tech version. -

Oath...
WOW.
How long did it take you to set that thing up?
[/ QUOTE ]
Not so long as one might think. Not that it was a snap or anything, but by using floor safes and floor tiles it's easy to set up the 1foot levels that you need to stack the rubble. worked on it over 3 days total for a few hours a day.
[ QUOTE ]
Incredible job. I shudder to think what that many items might do to peoples' frame rates in the game, but VERY nice regardless
[/ QUOTE ]
It's actually not a problem outside of the editor... course IN the editor it's a bad idea to even look in the general direction of that room..... -
[ QUOTE ]
Where do you get the statue from? I have a really good idea that that would be perfect for.
Thanks so much.
[/ QUOTE ]
The statue is the Mystic Adviser Control Aux item. You craft it on one of the Forges. (I want to say the 2nd one.)
*****
Not sure if this would count as an "item" or not... but here's a mountain I build out of rubble and various random arcane junk: (note that since the base is an undersea lab, the room is normally very dark blue, but I had to turn the lights up so you could see any kind of detail in the screenies)
Starting at the bottom.
The base of the mountain, and the Tunnel that goes through it.
The Tunnel Entrance. I'm goin in, around the bend, I can see the light, at the end of the tunnel, and emerge into some sunken ruins.
Here's the View of the lab from the Mountain Top, and a view of the mountain through the Conference Room Windows. -

I GOTTA know how you make the tree!! That is coolin!
[/ QUOTE ]
It looks like a couple of trees stacked (overlapping) on top of one another and sunken with their trunks below (the raised) floor level.
The Ornaments are small groups of bottles. -
Oooooo... I love the Adam Withers piece.
They all look great, but that's my favorite. -
woops... posted on teh wrong thread.... suppose that's what i get for having multiple threads open in multiple tabs... -
Steamboy pops into my head at this point.... and i see a massive floating clockwork tower... -
Depending on when the tour is, I may or may not be finished with my base.
It's been in the works for about 2 months (minus 1month of account inactivity)... and I'm having difficulty making magic desks on live currently.
IF I can manage to finish it before this happens:
Group name: The Adjudicators
Server: Guardian
Side: Blue
Size/Cost: 8X12 / 3.5-4.5million Prestige
Other Info: Extensive use of magic desks and stacking. Two person Super Group.
Once a date is settled upon I'll let you know if I'll be ready in time.
Erm, oh yeah... I'm also the designer of a small Villain side base for a friend of mine...
Group Name: MOST WANTED
Server: Guardian
Side: Red
Size/Cost: 8x8 / maybe 2million
Other Info: Another small group. Maybe 4 or 5 active members (accounts).
This one has been finished for a long time so It'll definitely be available for touring.
(I keep editing the post to add other info I think of after i think I'm finished) -
Base Repricing
1) How will the repricing of bases affect you personally?
Upon redesign of my base I'll get to greatly expand it.
2) Will you dismantle your base to gain the additional prestige from the repricing?
Eventually yes, I'll repurchase the plot for an immediate refund of prestige, and then when I redo my base again (which happens every few months anyhow) I'll get the rest back.
3) How long would this process take you if you were to engage in this practice?
Depends on the complexity of my new base design. Could take a substantial amount of manhours.
4) What are the positive and negative concerns regarding repricing?
Pluses, Bigger bases with more stuff. Negatives? Can't see any... I suppose huge SGs who already had all the fancy toys may feel robbed now that everyone gets them all anyhow.
5) How will this feature affect you long term and short term?
I see many more hours spent in the base editor, because I'll have more base to edit.
Base Salvage Exchange to Invention Salvage
1) What is the negative effect on your base for this feature implementation?
Very likely there will be a HUGE increase in the cost of crafted base items. I already can't stand having to spend the salvage/prestige/influence to switch crafted base items from Arcane to Tech when I feel like switching the base style.
2) What is the positive effect on your base for this feature implementation?
Don't see any.
3) How long will it take you to adjust to learning this new system?
It's frankly not a change that will require me to make an adjustment.
4) What side effects to this system do you currently see from transitioning the old to new system?
Using Invention salvage for bases increases the number of sources requiring said materials, without increasing the amount of the salvage on the market, as such, Prices for IO enhancements and salvage will go up.
5) What security concerns do you have regarding this change?
None.
Additional Notes:
Nothing particular to add. -
I think there was a copy/paste error, because looking at it, it seems as though your 4.1 Current Build, is the same as the 4.2 max Recharge build.
Nice guide though. -

That said, if you think for one second that any MMO with a subscription fee is any different, you are sadly mistaken. Sadly. Here's a sad face for you.

This made me lol.
(Do mods count as rednames? His name IS red.... if so, First! teehee my first time.) -
It's a rather complex concept, and is going to turn out to be a HORRIBLY long post, but...
My only 50 hero, Oathbound, is actually an Illusion made by an as yet unnamed/unmade Illusion/Emp controller, he just isn't aware of it. (I'll probably never make the controller, since I don't care for Empathy, and I already have a high level Illusionist.) (We'll call him Bob since I don't have a name for him.)
While normally Illusions aren't sentient, Oathbound possesses the consciousness (or partial consciousness at least) of a young man who "Bob" accidentally killed when his powers first manifest themselves.
"Bob" was so guilt ridden and ashamed of what he had caused that as the young man lay dying he absorbed a part of him (the young man) and crafted a new "body" in which the man could live out his life. (This essentially traps Oathbound in the illusion of his own existence.)
Given that Oathbound is a sort of creation of "Bob's" they have to stay within relatively close proximity to each other. Over time they became inseparable (as Friends, partners in crime (fighting) etc. as opposed to just geographical distance), and while it was originally supposed to be a temporary situation, it got to the point where "Bob" could not bring himself to let Oathbound die (as he would have had he still been living a normal life).
So they've been, more or less, always together for the last oh.... 1500years.
*There's more to it, Including a lot of twists and turns, Including "Bob's" eventual death, Oathbound's survival beyond Bob's death, and his decent into insanity/conversion to a Mind/Psi Dominator, then his eventual redemption as the Peacebringer, Hadi. (Which come to find out was his name when he was alive, Bob never knew his name, so could never grant his illusion knowledge of it.)
The story also crosses paths with a Broadword/WP scrapper I haven't made yet (or WP/BS tanker if they ever get it) who is Oath's "Daughter" (she's actually his many many many times great granddaughter); and my Night Widow who is sent to investigate, as evil Oathbound is siphoning off the psychic powers of others (including some of the Fortunatas) to sustain himself(Yay Drain Psyche!) ... Long and far more complicated than it ever needed to be. -
Just finished the new Library for The Adjudicators SG base.
I tried as much as I could to make it feel like a separate building, instead of just another room in the SG base.

Now that I've finally learned how to do magic desks, and have gotten into a SG situation where I can actually take advantage of the Base Editor.... Here's the "Sexy Small Base" for The Adjudicators on Guardian server.
Overview
Basic 8x8 free space.
Entrance Room
Entrance Portal
Entrance Library 1
Entrance Library 2
Entrance Library 3
This was my first project after learning how to make Magic Desks... not entirely happy with it, so I'll probably redo it next time I get bored.
Teleport Room 1
Standard Porter room... nothin special to see here.
Teleport Room 2
Teleport Room 2 - Offices
Teleport Room 2 - Office Waiting Area
Teleport Room 2 - Office Cubicals
This used to be a Lounge (it still is in the Overview image) but was always intended to be switched for a porter room, once I collected up all the beacons I needed. Now it houses the Brickstown and Peregrine porters, and some pretty standard office space.
Infirmary Lobby
Infirmary Reception
Infirmary Exam Room
Medical Room, nothing fancy.
Workshop Worktables
Workshop Storage
It's not so easy to cram all that stuff in there.... I'll probably end up stacking the Enhancement Tables soon.
Control Room
Control Mainframe
***Monitoring the Situation
As you can see, I stacked the Databases, and a few LCD screens to leave plenty of floor space for whatever other random stuff I felt like adding in.
Power Station
Power Station 2
Nothin to see here, move along.
Atrium
Atrium Sky
Atrium Pond
Atrium Pond View
***Sitting on top of the World
And here's my single favorite room in the entire base. Redid those floating crystal balls 2 or 3 times before I was happy with them... I was hoping they'd resemble stars more from below... but I'm not disappointed.
***just added these images for a lil fun. -

Well.. yeah what else would I use? Sharpies? :P
[/ QUOTE ]
Hey now, don't knock the sharpies. I use them for all my figure drawing.
(I don't know why, really I don't.... but I tend to like my drawings better when done with a sharpie than when I do them with pencil.... even if it's full of mistakes I can't erase.)
