Well the Ski Slopes are kind of outside of the D. Rularuu's much to tall to fit inside the actual building, unless he weer laying down anyhow.
(Also, was he real Rularuu, or the Aspect of Rularuu (which if memory serves is the same size as Ruladek/Lanaruu/Faathim)?) -
Quote:I agree that it's a vague and rather silly distinction to make.Shield is not an SG since most of the people in it are not supers.
There were 5 original X-Men, and 4 original Doom Patrol. MM's get 6 henchmen. What defines an SG?
In this game SG Leaders fight along side their SG, so I'm comfortable saying the definition of an SG doesn't matter anyway. This is just an illogical argument from people who don't want MMs as Heroes.
If I had to hazard a guess it's that a SG Leader guides his subordinates towards an action, but that subordinate is free to go off and do it his way, or not do it at all instead. That there may be repercussions for the subordinates actions is unimportant, it's only important that the subordinate has the ability to chose not to do what the SG leader says.
A MM tells their minions what to do, and the minions do it. Period. I don't agree with that though, a Comic Book Mastermind's minions are easily able to ignore the MM's orders and go about his own business as he sees fit. (With the exception of those that are directly mind controlled, which None of the in-game minions are stated to be. (Player Character concept is irrelevant in this regard as You* are the one making the distinction here, not the game.))
*Nebulous "you" not specific "You." -
Quote:Indeed the VFX are new, I was referring specifically to the Character animation in my post. Not sure about others.Pyronic actually DOES do something new. The VFX is textured so as to help it look more like real fire. I can't recall if the colorable versions are also textured (we were told this during the I20 pre-beta, so it's been a while), but I know for a fact the default version is.
Furthermore, ALL the Judgement powers use unique VFX. For a while in beta they were all using placeholder effects and the difference is night and day. -
Quote:Do you have Chain Fences (slotted for end mod)? I find that they really help with draining early on. They only deal 1 tick of damage so you don't really have to worry about them interfering with Static Field much.Heya Brev, long time no see!
That's a good idea. I've got an Elec/Psi Dom (mid twenties IIRC) I've been playing too, fun, but the -end has been less effective/fun than I'd hoped. I can certainly see some good synergy with /Kin though... And I've been kinda hankering to play a /Kin again anyway, esp with the new uber QOL improvements for buffing coming down the pike. -

Quote:You do, but once they get to that point (or anywhere near it for that matter) they stop being anything close to good looking. *cough*PaulyUnstoppable*cough*I wonder why you never see good looking people deforming their bodies like that Leopard boy and Tiger boy have!
There's a line at which it stops being interesting or sexy and just starts being gross. This comes from someone who loves tats and piercings and has, has had, and plans on getting several.
*Disclaimer, I'm not responsible for trauma suffered from googling Pauly. Likely NSFW. -

Quote:I've never seen this one before. I rather like it.steampunk computer, ftw!
I am sure that this was probably posted before....however steampunk computers are just full of win!
Prior to clicking the link I assumed it'd be yet another image of that one that looks like a pipe organ (which is horribly gaudy IMO). -
Quote:Be careful with that... I pointed that out a long time ago in another debate over a Hero MM archetype and got my head chewed off like what I said was down right treasonous and unAMERICAN.Isn't that how armed forces the world over function? Or law enforcement?
Heroic MM concept. Defense primary, Pet/melee secondary.
You're the tank.
Pets are your Support/Damage.
YOU take the heat and they help you. You don't send them in while you stay safe, YOU charge bravely into battle and they follow at a safe distance. "Unheroic" problem solved. -
It's been suggested before, and I'd like it, personally.
The only hits I can think there might be is that the +Res might have to be unenhanceable. I'm not sure, but I think I remember reading in one of the past suggestions that if a power did both + and - Res that allowing enhancement for the + would automatically enhance the - as well, which I believe gets into one of those sticky situations of -Res buffing itself, or some such (which would be why Resist debuffs are never enhanceable).
I could be misremembering though.
IF that's the case however, I'd say allow it to self stack, since it couldn't be enhanced. (Depending on value and such.) -
Quote:I'd have to agree.Ugh, I'm starting to hate that "psi damage is x's weakness", because it's practically everything's weakness. Especially armor sets.
- Regen (almost always attached to -rech, Regen's bane, and new-MoG still doesn't aid against Psi)
- Invuln
- Granite
- Ice
- Energy Aura
- SR (when it's non-positional)
- Shields (same as SR)
- Fiery Aura
Leaving Willpower, Elec Armor, Dark Armor, and non-Granite Stone as the only four armor sets that have protection against psi attacks.
Psi is far, far too common of a "this set's weakness" in this game.
For being the "rare" and "exotic" damage type it sure is common as hell.
If I had to guess I'd put it at the 4th most common damage type after Lethal, Smashing and Energy. -
This:
Quote:And this:Empathy isn't getting the same treatment as Force Field or Sonic because nothing in Empathy is comparable to the powers in Force Field or Sonic.
Quote:If you think Empathy or Pain need a buff in general, this isn't really the thread to address that.
(Just to note, I have an Emp/Eng Defender, an Earth/Emp Controller and a Rad/Pain Corruptor.) -
-
The reason Corruptors are unlikely to get Empathy now, even with Villain Defenders, is that -every- Corruptor support sets gets debuffs. It goes with the theme of the Archetype. Empathy doesn't have any so it doesn't exactly "fit." Same reason it doesn't get Forcefield. All buffs/Control/Soft Control. No Debuffs.
(I for one personally rallied for villain empathy way back when, debuffs or not. Likewise, as I've mentioned many times in proliferation threads before, Forcefield is offensive enough in nature that it would still work for them in my opinion.) -
Quote:Indeed. To expand on that, the situations where the bonus only lasts as long as the power are with Toggle buffs (because they constantly refresh and will overwrite the boosted buff with the normal buff when the boost effect has ended) and with Pets inheriting buffs from their owner.
Quote:Because the devs intend for antimez buffs to be reactively applied, not on-all-the-time. Things like forcefields and sonic shields and speed boost are meant to be on-all-the-time. It's a deliberate design decision, not an oversight. -
I think it's funny that Pyronic gets picked on for recycling animations when none of them actually have a new one.
Ionic is the beach ball of doom (Neutron Bomb, Bonfire, Repulsion Bomb), Void is the typical Nuke (Nova, Blackstar, Quasar etc) and Cryonic is just Fossilize/Strangler.
I suppose Pyronic is the only one that reuses a common animation from it's thematically matching sets though. (Void also does, but how often do you use Blackstar compared to Fireball/blaze?)
Ultimately I think they're fine, except Cryonic which seems to be universally viewed as Underwhelming. -
Quote:This on the other hand is going a bit too far. Dispersion Bubble gets nothing like this, and the justification is weak.
Arguably Dispersion Bubble does protect against these things simply by making them less likely to hit you. (Autohit powers excepted, though far less common anyhow.)
It would mechanically make sense for Sonic to protect you (at least partially) against nearly ALL debuffs, because in practice Forcefield does. -
We don't know that for sure.
There's been no information about it, so as of yet there's no reason to believe that they increased the recharge or removed the ability to stack. -
Quote:Nah. Energy Cloak would need replaced with a taunt aura for tankers no matter what.Yeah, although the more I think about it, maybe they are right and I should vote for broadsword for tanks instead.
Something akin to Invincibility or Brute Evasion would work. By that I mean a taunt aura that provides defense (to replace that lost by removing EC), not a copy/paste of that actual powers. -
Maybe he/she's hoping that they buff it when they give it to tankers, like they did Electric.
For my picks:
Dark Blast and Dark Manipulation for Blasters (there are enough dark powers to fill most of the set, and they could fill the gaps with new ones like they did for Mental)
Ice Melee and Ice Armor for Brutes (The fury thing is a non-issue really. Brutes have Dark Armor which has two auras that completely shut down incoming attacks, so pointing at Ice's -Recharge doesn't hold up.)
Traps and Dark Miasma for Controllers (Dark will probably need a look over beforehand, but Controllers already have control heavy secondaries (/TA, /Storm) so with a bit of balancing [drop Fearsome Stare to Mag2, increase recharge to 60-90sec] so, in the words of the fabulous Mr Gunn, Make it Work.)
Poison and Psychic Blast (defender version) for Corruptors (Change Noxious Gas to be Ally targeted instead of pet targeted. Across the board.)
Thermal Radiation and Fire Blast for Defenders. (Sure fire doesn't have a debuffing secondary effect, but neither does Archery or Assault Rifle(for the most part).)
Illusion and Dark Assault for Dominators (Dark Assault pieces together easy enough. Illusion...... hell I still don't think it'll be that good on a Dom, but have at it.)
Cold Domination and Sonic Resonance for Masterminds (They already have Thermal and Forcefield, buffs are good.)
Ice Melee and Ice Armor for Scrappers (May as well share the love.)
Ice Melee and Ice Armor for Stalkers (Running out of matched pairings, so w/e. Ice for all.)
Energy Aura and Martial Arts for Tankers (EA is about all that's left, and MA, well, just cause I like MA.) -
Quote:My main SG on Guardian is just me (admittedly I inherited it with about 3million prestige) but it's up to about 7million now. Those are both great examples of what can be done to make a spectacular room. But I also have to say that I look at both of these and cry. Why? Because I know that I'll never be able to build anything near that. Not because I'm not patient or creative enough. No, because I know I'll nver generate enough prestige in order to be able to purchase everything needed to build any of this - especially in a casual SG that effectively consists of my 12 alts, and not much else.
Most of the items I used in the room I did only cost 100prestige per item, that's not really all that much, even when purchased in large numbers.
How much prestige do you have? You could probably manage better than you think (depending on what functional items you have/want/need, that's where it really adds up). -
Quote:There are still plenty of choices to cobble Dark Assault out of. (Plus with the exception of Earth none of the assault sets get ranged AoEs (and fissure hardly counts as "ranged"), so Dark O wouldn't really fit anyhow.)Dark Control/Dark Assault Dominator
Only issue is 3 of the powers that would work really well with Dark Assault (Soul Drain, Dark Consumption and Dark Obliteration) are already in Soul Mastery.
I fully support Dark/Dark for all!
Really I just want them to finish across the board proliferation of all sets to all ATs. -
This is a room I built as a prize for a contest a friend of mine ran a good while back:
It's a Gallery and Conference Room -
Erm.......
*SPOILER*
*NO REALLY STOP READING IF YOU DON'T WANT A HUGE SPOILER*
If they were just going to port the entire freaking planet here then why did they need to "make room"?
