    They're not exactly the same.

Soul Tentacles completely lacks any kind of -tohit debuff.

    How do you get 41%?

Defender Thermal shields should be 20% base right? (Controller/Corruptor/MM shields are 15%.) Enhanced that's only ~31%.
  3. Downside of a toggle of course being that if any non-phased mob gets even the tiniest mez on you, suddenly you've got a lot more very pissed off NPCs breathing down your neck.

Unless they flagged it not to suppress when mezzed, which would make it the only offensive toggle not to follow the standard.

That's not really a secondary effect though, and it sure as hell isn't a debuff.

If added accuracy is fine for a defender blast set, why wouldn't added damage be ok?
  5. If they do Dark (which I sure as hell hope they do), I'll make a Dark/Psi, and maybe a Mind/ or Fire/ with /Dark, depending on what that set entails.
  6. It really does change what the power does. The fact that you can walk through the mobs is largely irrelevant, it's the Only Affecting Self/Unaffected aspects that are the core of the power.

Applying the above modification to it and it in effect it just becomes a Fear.

Still the best change to Dimension Shift/Black Hole I've seen suggested is changing them to patches (like earthquake/quicksand/rain powers) and have the phase (but NOT the immobilize) also apply to players that enter the patch.

Apply the PvP "Phased can attack Phased" rule to PvE and you create a zone where mobs inside it can't attack players outside of it and vice-versa.

Just stay out of the patch and they can't hurt you, then when you're ready to clobber them just step inside.

This keeps the power doing exactly the same thing it does now, but allows a way around one of the biggest annoyance of phases, that you have to wait for it to expire before you can do anything with those mobs.

Regardless, this news has made i21 the best issue ever for me. Even if they removed everything else, I'd be ecstatic.
They could include Petrifying Gaze from Dark Miasma. There's no issue of overpoweredness there cause multiple Manipulation sets already include holds to stack with any in the primary.

Defender secondaries all have one thing in common: They have a secondary effect to apply aside from the damage it deals. Defender secondaries cover pretty much every secondary effect there is, so a -dam effect would round it out (since they don't have a set that does that yet) I suspect that, in a way, that's why they hesitated on giving Fire Blast to defenders for so long.

It would pair well with Thermal as well. Thermal buffs allies resistance, while the Fire debuffs enemies' damage.

I doubt it will happen, but I can hope.
    Actually they don't.

    Archery has no secondary effect.

Arguably neither does Assault Rifle (some powers in AR do (One defense debuff, 4 KB), but the set a a whole does not).

I don't expect to see a debuff added to fire just for defenders.

I'll go one further and just flat out say it, right here right now...

The Fury generation thing is flat out BUNK.

Brutes have had Dark armor this whole time, which has two toggles that COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN ATTACKS AGAINST YOU BY MOBS IN MELEE RANGE.

If there was no problem with giving Dark to Brutes, there's ZERO problem with Ice.

I actually think it will include TT.

For one thing, there was no mention of it being removed.
Second, Dark Blast is specifically mentioned as being "a fun control centric blast set for Blasters." and since we already know it's losing Dark Pit, if it ALSO loses TT then the -only- control it'd have is a single target hold and the Nightfall/Torrent mashup. Two powers does not a "control centric" set make.
Finally (and semi-non-seriously), screw Soul Tentacles and it's skinny-*** cone. (And while we're at it, screw Nightfall and it's even skinnier cone.)
  11. In hindsight they never should have grouped set proliferations into single releases together, because that leads to situations exactly like this where if/when one AT doesn't have a set proliferated people get bitchy.

They should have proliferated sets piecemeal (one or two set ported to ArchetypeA in one patch, then one set for ArchetypeB and a set for ArchetypeC next patch, etc. etc.). I suppose that would have been problematic to fit into their internal schedule though.

Considering Dark Armor was one of the sets specifically mentioned as being part of Dark manipulation, I'd say odds are surprisingly good.

I'm going to go out on a Limb and say that they're actually going to include Cloak of Fear (it's semi-analogous to World of Confusion).
  13. I would most likely do them all as Defenders, simply because I prefer them to Corruptors.

Well, except the Storm/Fire. Which I simply wouldn't do except as a Fire/Storm Controller, because IMO Storm is far better on controllers than any other support AT, just because many control sets can negate the knockback.

Fun fact: NONE of the powers in the game with the words Repel, Repulse or Repulsion in their names actually ARE repel. They're all knockback/down.

Repulse, Repulsion Field, Repulsion Bomb, Sonic Repulsion, Repulsing Torrent. All KB.

Oh, yeah, On Topic: I guess Now I'm going to have to redo my DM/EA's projected level 50 build. Should be fun though.

Have to agree about Fearsome Stare, I find Touch of Fear far more likely, if they get a fear power.

CoD could be changed to match Devices>Cloaking device with 1.75% defense suppressing.

Point of contention, "barely resisted" isn't exactly correct. It may or may not be uncommonly resisted, but when it is it is generally HEAVILY so.

Note that they still do not buff the caster.

I just want to be clear on one thing, and this isn't a reply directed necessarily at either of the quoted posters, but Blaster Soul master doesn't actually contain Tenebrous Tentacles. It contains Soul Tentacles. There is a distinction, and thus no direct conflict, even if they are essentially the same powers.

As to Oppressive Gloom, Dark Manipulation is already having Dark Pit moved into it, so there's no way they'd get another AoE disorient in the same set.

On the topic of Proliferation itself, it might be fun remaking my Dark/Psy CoT defender as a Dark/Mental Blaster instead.

To clarify, Synapse specified that there are NO changes to the actual Dominator archetype. New POWERSETS are what they have planned.

Also, if you didn't see your set proliferated it is likely because we plan on having another round (or rounds) of proliferation in future issues and we only had enough time to implement as many sets as we did.

I'm ok with waiting till post i21 to get the new Dom goodies. Just means I have more time to level the plethora of Doms I already have before making new ones.

Like Vanguard themed Rikti armor or something.
I'd have to say that compared with any of the 3 base rigs, even including every single piece built on the Rikti model there's a MASSIVE gap in potential.

    Utterly massive.

Also it would mean that from this point on they would have to build new pieces for 4 rigs instead of 3, because if anyone thinks players would be content with a REAT getting an orders of magnitude smaller tailoring pool and then NOT getting their own version of all new pieces added, they're very mistaken.
