Quote:This happens to me when the mission door is a helicopter, like the ones in Faultline or RWZ (where you click the NPC standing by the chopper's loading ramp and they wave you on). It also happens on the Mercy Island Black Helicopter up by Ghost Widow's tower. This is an issue with your computer and/or connection. It never happens to me, and my computer sucks.
I've never had this happen on just a normal door (Except during some events where the lag is just ridiculous, like the Praetorian Surge on Freedom).
Quote:Quote:12. Remove collision detection with friendly MM mobs.
The only collision detection they recently removed, as far as I'm aware, was for Seeker Drones because Protector Bots had a ridiculous habit of summoning them and then getting stuck on their own drones.
I've only ever noticed this happening on the Boats in Cimerora, but good lord it's annoying. I'd definitely like to see this fixed. -
Quote:I'd like to see more Accolades (that grant bonuses) in general. Currently all the passive Accolades are either +Max HP or +Max End, there's so much room for expansion there.5. New accolade passive powers: I know that the Paragon Rewards is said to include exclusive powers but we haven't seen any info about what exactly those might be. Some things I'd like to see in this regard are passives much like the accolade passive we can earn in game. Like say one that gives 5% passive recharge, or one that gives 5% more damage. Things like that. These abilities could work as either purchasable things or through Paragon Rewards

I'm still in favor of making Sonic Siphon a true siphon and having it apply a +Resistance buff to the caster. (I think it being a team or aoe buff would be too strong.)

As far as I'm aware the only sets getting new powers added are the Travel pools. (Flight, Speed, Leaping and Teleport.)
I don't recall all the power's names, but the powers themselves are something like this:
Flight Pool
Afterburner -- +Max flyspeed, +defense, Only affecting self (Can't attack o ruse ally targeted powers, can still use self powers)
Speed Pool
Name ??? -- Immediately resets the recharge of all your powers on cooldown (making them all useable again). Has a 30minute timer.
Teleport Pool
Name ??? -- Zone Teleport (My best guess is that it works just like the market TP, you use the power then get a list of zones, you pick the one you want and end up there.)
Leaping Pool
Name??? -- an aoe "leap" attack
The only known changes to the other pools are what level the powers are available at/prerequisites. Such as; you'll be able to take Aid Self without any other prereqs, so no more "wasting" a power on Stimulant or Aid Other if you just want the self heal. -
Quote:I'd have to say that given the shear number of costume pieces available, and how many would need to be redone if they upgraded the models, that it's ALL "probably unrealistic" to ask for.People who are focusing on the fingers are kinda missing the point here.
The models as a whole are antiquated. They worked very well for their time but now with all the newer graphical updates the older player models are REALLY showing their age. They need to be updated. I don't mean whole new skeletons, with whole new animations, that would be nice but probably unrealistic. I'd be happy with higher poly count on our base models. The game has a built in LoD system that will already down grade the models for slower systems, I'm just asking to go in the other direction for people with higher end machines. I want to see less boxy appendages and more curvier features. Same with all the old costume textures, there should be a higher res option for all the old looks as well.
That is a great deal more feasible with the current system and a much needed upgrade to the game's graphics at this vital stage.
Only if we players of the male characters get equal dev time with the physics of the jigglyparts. -
Quote:Animation time, for the most part, isn't part of the formula for determining the damage of a power. (In fact it wasn't originally considered in power balance AT ALL, which has always been part of Gravity's problem.)But Levitate has a longer activation time than lift, right? So they aren't identical powers. Lift activates more quickly, making it do better DPA if they do the same damage. So I am not convinced by your argument.
Despite that this thread is in the Dominator forums, I'm not comparing Controller Lift to Dominator Lift. I specifically sited Mind Control's Levitate as it's a contemporary of Lift that even on Controllers deals the -proper- 1.32scale damage for it's 6second recharge. This is not a "Dom vs Controller" thing, it is simply an oddity within Gravity Control.
Quote:Lift in Controller should be matched to Dominator's version. I can't remember the exact number but does Lift cost as much endurance as Levitate? You can have one power having a bit more activation time but still does the same damage, have the same endurance cost and recharge. Somebody told me activation time in Levitate is actually shorter than the listed value?
They cost the same end, have the same recharge, the same range, and the same effects with the same magnitudes and durations.
Edit: If fact they even use the same animation, so why there's a difference in activation time at all is all the more puzzling. -
Quote:But this was specifically done just for doms to counteract the "gravity is better for controllers" argument. It is funny that people still make the argument though and seemingly have completely forgotten about the lift fix. "The grass is always greener on the other side," and human psychology is more at play than anything else here I think with all of the complaints.
I honestly think many people who complain about gravity just don't really play the set or want it to be another fire control or something. It really only needs very minor fixes to be absolutely competitive.
It's not even just about Doms vs Controllers though, Mind Control's Levitate is for all intents and purposes identical to Gravity's Lift, but even on Controllers deals 1.32scale damage.
Lift was changed for Dominators to deal the same damage as Levitate, there's no reason for it not to also deal the same damage as Levitate on Controllers. Lift got "fixed" for one AT, but left "broken" on another.
Gravity has a myriad of small problems as well as a few real big problems, that just add up to being a stinker of a set.
(please don't take this the wrong way, but)
I honestly think that the people who DON'T complain about Gravity are letting their personal feelings for a pet set get in the way of recognizing that it's poorly built and in desperate need of improvement.
I don't want Fire control 2.0. I also don't want to have to slog through 26 levels of absolute inferiority just to get a "main control" power almost every other set has by level 12 or 18, that's only even particularly useful 1/2 the time I need it and has the potential to be actively detrimental to my team if the stars aren't aligned just so. -
Quote:Or you'll get the same amount of ******** and moaning, from the exact same people who were doing it before.People already have to put up with b****ing and moaning about KB as it is. If you give people a way to cripple these power sets, it will become expected. And the b****ing and moaning simply increases for those who choose to learn to play with the tool instead of demonizing it.
These are the same people you didn't want to group with before, why would you magically want to group with them now? -
I'm leaning heavily towards Dark/Dark being the new shiny sets, and that Doms will never get Illusion (or get a highly modified version) because even the Devs can't agree on it.

Quote:The Leadership toggles aren't PBAoE buffs, they're Team Buffs. Dispersion Bubble and the like are PBAoEs.For a PBaoe toggle, I was looking for the dotted line symbol like they have in the leadership toggles, but you're right, they aren't entirely consistent with that.
Nope. Same single target widgets that are on the tier1 and 2 attacks. -
I shall of course reserve judgement until actual effects and numbers are know.
I STILL think it should have been Time CONTROL though. -
Quote:I find myself for the second time this week pointing out that this is not true.Psionic would probably be a bad idea, though, since it's extra-unresisted by almost everything.
Psionic is a HEAVILY resisted damage type, there may or may not be fewer mobs that specifically resist it, but when it is resisted it is done so by a HUGE amount.
I believe you'll find that on average Fire, Ice and possibly even Energy are all actually less resisted than Psi. -
Quote:While I agree to a degree with this, Gravity has been lacking for SO LONG that it's ABOUT DAMNED TIME some other set was at the bottom for a bit.First, see my above comment. Secondly, there will ALWAYS be a set that is the worst. That's just the nature of ranking things.
If Gravity is brought up above something else, then all of the dedicated players of that set will get all mad that now THEIR set is the worst, and that from that fact alone, it needs to be improved. I guess my point is that just because a set is the worst at something, doesn't automatically mean it needs to be improved... there will ALWAYS be a worst no matter what the Devs do unless they make all of them the same.
Yes, improving Gravity just means there'd be a new "worst" control set, but such is the nature of MMOs. "Someone's gotta be at the bottom" would be/is an exceedingly poor excuse for not improving an under-performer. -

Quote:There was a thermal present for all three scenarios, it was just a different thermal for the first one vs the latter two. By "caster" she means "whichever thermal was with us and providing buffs at the time."I'm not completely sure if I've understood your post correctly - because you first say "for the caster" then you say you swapped toons and the phenomenon still occurred.
But my 2nd fave char is an Earth/Thermal and I've never experienced this - either undue aggro on myself having cast shields, nor have I noticed (or ever had complaints) that those I shield get more aggro.
I'm not able to find the exact detail myself but I believe that MM's draw twice as much attention as all other ATs, so maybe that's a factor
As for the /Thermal Mastermind:
MMs were designed as the "Tank" archetype for Redside, so they may have a higher threat modifier/multiplier/doohickey, I just don't recall what it is atm.
Having a team of MM, Stalker and Blaster it seems a safe bet that the Mastermind has the highest threat mod of the group, which is why it seems to be pulling ago, though why this would seem to end if thermal buffs were allowed to wear off is beyond me, given that heals and buffs aren't coded to generate any agro at all.
In the other situations, that entire reasoning wouldn't apply though, since it was a Thermal Corruptor.
OP, if this is an occurrence you can reliably reproduce or occurs regularly (where it can't simply be an issue of perception), definitely /bug report it. If not, it could just be a collection of unfortunate incidents summed up as "well that sucks." -
Quote:I'd say all themes of Mastery sets could use a good bit of proliferation.Actually, it's time to finish proliferating Dark Mastery to all the ATs.
Where's Ice Mastery for Defenders? Stalkers could use one too once i21 hits.
Where's Electric Mastery for Controllers and Tankers and Brutes?
Where's my Earth Mastery for Doms?
And Psionic Mastery for Blasters and Masterminds?
People can't claim bias now about adding more APPs without adding more PPPs, so let's get to adding them. -
Quote:I'm pretty sure she's saying the exact opposite. That in her experiences, the agro is being drawn to the thermal character itself as long as another character is shielded. If I read the OP correctly, you are arguing that thermal shields draw aggro to the shielded character, not the Thermal.
One of her examples earlier she said that as a scrapper with thermal shields even after attacking the mobs they would still agro to the Thermal, but after her shields wore off she was finally able to hold agro off the other player.
As to the OP, No. I have never noticed this behavior on any Thermal character I've ever made. -
I am proud to say that despite spending large portions of my day (everyday) on the interwebs, I've STILL never seen her crappy video.

Quote:It was Dark Watcher who rezzed the Phalanx in the comics. In-game Lady Grey is a dark/dark defender so she could have a rez, but she's never to my knowledge had/used Howling Twilight in any media (which makes her a noob).Well the obvious choice for who to kill off first should be any sig character with an ally rez. Otherwise attempts to kill off anyone else will just result in them being resurrected by their comrades.
You know, like what Lady Grey did in the comics for most of the Freedom Phalanx? (or was it the Dark Watcher... I'm sure it's Lady Grey though since Manticore's said DW is actually a dark/regen scrapper)
Then of course the Phalanx has their own pocket heelzor in Numina. -
Quote:Well, Ice tankers already get 2 taunt auras (Icicles and Chilling Embrace) and IIRC Dark Tankers can actually have 3 (I could be wrong, but I believe both Oppressive Gloom and Cloak of Fear taunt.)Conceptual thoughts aside, I really don't see Tankers getting Spines any time soon because of the extra taunt/damage aura, Tanks who're capable of sustained AoE damage are utter beasts so I'd imagine Spines would need several tweaks/changes to address any balance issues which come up for it being in Tanker hands. I'd rather they work on making it work with Shields beforehand because I really really want that
Admittedly none of Ice or Dark's secondary taunt auras deal damage (except to you in the case of the latter). -
i actually think It'd be interesting for a Dom set to get a Nuke. Maybe not a full nuke, but a mini Nuke like RoA or the SoA's crashless nukes would definitely set it apart from the rest.
-
I don't necessarily think that DM can't work (with the current powers) for Controllers. Yes Fearsome Stare at the least will likely need to be toned down for the controller version (drop it to mag 2 for instance), but it's not like Controllers don't already get some Control Heavy support sets (Storm and TA immediately spring to mind, along with Rad to a lesser degree).
I guess I'll just keep sporting my rose-colored glasses and keeping hope alive. If they take out Fearsome Stare my longtime desire for my own personal version of That One Grav/Dark MAGI Chick will be completely and irreparably crushed.
Edit: Another reason I'm leaning towards FS staying in Dark Miasma is cause they're going to have to port DM to controllers to match DC eventually, so they're going to have to make a new power to fit either THAT slot, or the slot in Dark Control. So they may as well just make the new power, for the actual new set.
