Been Looking forward to it.
This trailer certainly displays the comedy of the movie a lot more than the older ones.
The first one for instance was very dramatic... well, except for the bird poop at the end. -
Quote:Yeah, AV resistance (Purple Triangles) makes it crazy hard to cap most debuffs on them.AVs don't have different caps. The -speed cap is 90%, -rch cap is 75%.
AVs do, of course, have resistances to these effects, details here: http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Arch-villain
I happen to have an ice/time, my most recent 50. You can have some noticable effect on an AV's recharge and speed, though you won't max out the debuffs against them. I didn't take Shiver but that would further the debuff(s) against AVs.
To hit the -75% recharge cap vs a level 50 AV's 85% resistance to -Recharge you'd need to layer on about 500% -recharge. Vs a level 54 AV you'd need 577%.
To hit the -90% movement cap against a lvl 50 AV you'd need 600% -speed. Against a level 54 AV that increases to just over 692% -speed. -
Dark Miasma
Dark Melee
Time Manipulation
Psychic Assault
Electric Control
On again off again with Dark Blast (Defender/Corruptor version).
Love/Hate Gravity. I want to love it on theme alone, but I absolutely hate it's poor performance. (No, the Beta changes don't really fix this.) -
Quote:Nonsense! You get a crystal that prevents headaches, an orb that predicts the weather and a ring that prevents sunburn. That does sound right. I recall the dialog casting you as annoyed that the Cabal witches didn't have any real reward for you for saving them.
Those are ah-mazing rewards! -
Quote:Think he was referring to the Shining Stars.Only cheap knockoff varities. Not all of the IDF pieces, for example, are available to players.
IDF mobs tend to have a lot of unique powers not available in the AE creator, where the Shining Stars are fairly generic in both Look and Abilities. -
I wont say that I'd never delete a level 50, but I haven't done so thus far. 32ish is the highest level character I can think of that I've gotten rid of (rerolled a Storm/Electric Defender as an Earth/Storm Controller, then finally again as a Fire/Storm Controller, which is now a level 50).
I've got several level 50s shelved on inactive servers, and will probably continue that practice with future 50s that I get bored with. -
Quote:They could replace Frag Grenade with an AoE heal to supplement his Single Target... <.< >.>6. Medic's problem is that he only has 70' range. All the rest are at least 80'. This is why Medic tends to get hit more than the other two soldiers because he walks forward a bit. They finally disable his Brawl but he should have at least 80' or even 90'. A Medic should not have less range than the rest of the cast. Another problem that contribute Medic taking aggro is his Frag Grenade. Frag has way larger radius than the other two soldier's cone attacks and the knock backs always draw more aggro. Medic shouldn't draw more aggro than the other two Soldiers.
-
It doesn't.
For the most part Hurricane only lingers the way that it does because the power actively pushes mobs out of it's own debuff radius. Time's Juncture doesn't do that, so there's no real need for a longer duration debuff on it. -
Quote:Where I feel somewhat the opposite way.I dunno. I'm thinking that this isn't the right way to do it. I'm thinking that instead of saying, "What space suit do you like? Helmet? Boots? Monkey?", they should have instead said, "What set do you think best represents the theme of Retro Sci-Fi?", and gave us three different sets, in full, to choose from.
Don't get me wrong. I think it's awesome that we get to vote on this. It just doesn't feel like the right way to vote.
In addition to the current categories of Helmet, Rocketpack, Gun and Rifle; I feel that the Space Suit vote should be split in two.
The "Suit" - Chest and Pants
and
The "Accessories" - Gloves and Boots
Parts that I absolutely love(The ringed boots/gloves from option C) are paired with parts that I really don't like. So my options are:
1) Vote for the pieces I love despite it being my least favorite overall look
or
2) Don't vote for my favorite pieces because I don't like the rest of the "suit" that they're paired with.
No matter which one wins, I still lose. -
Quote:This is the exact reason I didn't vote for C, despite it having my favorite pieces (Ringed Gloves/boots) in it.About Design C ...
When I look at Design C, I don't see a Sci-Fi "space suit" so much as I see a Space 1899 Knight In Plate Mail Armor. It looks like something more fit for robotics than humans, and makes for a much better ARMORED look than either A or B. I'd even go so far as to say that Design C would make a good start for a Medieval Costume Set (minus the Sci-Fi bits on the Gloves and Boots). I just look at Design C and think "metal plates" for some reason.
My favorite parts were tied to my least favorite parts. -
Quote:YAY!I have saved your image for later reference, it's not retro, but it is cool. You can console yourself by knowing it's in our thoughts.
Quote:I like it and I'm glad you're considering it, but that particular "jetpack" is much more than just a backpack-sized device. The pilot literally straps into it and flies it like a miniature helicopter. It's much larger than any of the other backpack-based temp flight powers you've done so far.
If you seriously managed to replicate the appearance of this device then any argument you might have against being able to give us other vehicles like motorcycles will make absolutely no sense.
Superheroes don't have to give a crap about physics though, so it'd work just as well scaled down to half (or less) of the actual size. -
Picked A. It's the one that seemed the most iconic and scifi to me.
-
Voted for A cause it kinda reminds me of the Martin Jetpack:
That's one sleek, sexy piece of hardware right there. -
I like B best, mostly for the tubing look around the base.
-
Quote:Oh without a doubt, and I thank you for allowing us this kind of ridiculous input directly into game content.I'm sure you realize that it's a logistical challenge to even allow voting at all.
But you know what they say; In for a penny, in for a pound.
Quote:Definitely better to vote broadly; it'll make it easier for us to offer this unprecedented level of choice again in the future.
The fact of the matter is that all three sets of Gloves/Boots (Note that I group Gloves/Boots together, since they share very specific looks) work about equally well with any of the "suits" so having them assigned to only one of the specific options is itself pretty limiting.
I voted B, because that's the set that I like the most pieces from, but honestly my favorite pieces are the Gloves and Boots from C, where I opted not to vote for C because I actually dislike the "Suit" portion.
EDIT: Again, I'm not trying to sound negative, I'll be perfectly happy with B. I'd just always be a bit sad about not getting my favorite parts. -
Quote:Honestly, the fact that these are presented wholesale, as a single choice for the entire set, as opposed to more of a piecemeal approach leaves too much room for exactly what's been happening in this thread -- "I like the boots from C and the Chest from A and the Pants from RXQYZ."So now you guys know how we feel.
The reality of game development is that it takes a LOT of time for a 3D artist to model all this stuff out, texture it, add all the modern bells-and-whistles that players expect, and finally, get everything into the system. So while it's easy for me to concept a billion ideas, it's never possible to make ALL of them in 3D.
Therefore, the trick is in picking the ONE set that best captures the chosen theme, and fortunately, you guys will be helping us do that on this one. We're putting the "wisdom of the crowd" to the test, and I'm really interested to see which options you all choose.
EDIT: I don't mean we should be voting on a piece by piece basis, that leaves too much room for it not to look like a cohesive set, but it'd be nice for the "Suit" (Chest layer and Pants) to be separate from the Gloves/Boots. -
The minimum clearance you need is 8 feet, I believe. If you don't mind low ceilings (may require you to alter your camera angle) you don't need to allow for more than that.
If you'd prefer a bit of headroom, I think 12 feet feels about right for the most part, and it's easy to build with. 12Feet=3Safes=4Desks -
-
I voted for B, but I'd like the boots and gloves from C for it instead of the boots and gloves that are part of the sketch.
Edit; I would also be happy with A... with the Boot sand Gloves from C instead. -
Quote:Frankly... I'd like to see more skin on some of the males for a change.Which is precisely why there are so many threads about Back Alley Brawler and his obscene costume.
Her costume is far more conservative than others and it's been labeled poorly simply because she's a woman.
Heck there are people opposed to what they're seeing simply because they don't want the young character from the stories they remember to grow up.
We've got more half naked women than you can shake a stick at*, but the most exposed the men get is bare arms?
(*Exaggeration, of course) -
I haven't rerolled my namesake, he's still a the same old FF/Psi he always was. He is however shelved, and on a server I don't play on anymore.
My main changes pretty regularly. Basically once my current main hits 50 an alt becomes my new main till it hits 50 or I get bored with it. Then it's time for another new one.
Incarnates changed that a bit, but I still only work on Incarnate progress with my current main. Partly because I really don't care that much for iTrials. I'll do one every now and then, but I don't really think they're fun. -
Quote:Well, part o it is just that we like to see familiar faces. Seeing the Faultline trio in RWZ was a nice little throwback to previous arcs, and helps with the feel of progression in the storyline. While I've never understood the forum passion for Flower Knight or for summoning copies of oneself as pets, these could both be used to make a fairly interesting character, at least powers-wise. Perhaps her time in Ouroboros has given her Time Manipulation powers, too. Her "strange signature move" could be "summon duplicates of herself from other points in time" or something along those lines. That would make her "different" from Manticore, aside from cosmetic details and theme.
My suggestion for Flower Knight was only half serious. Ninja MM just popped into my head as a way for her to keep her bow and arrows, but not just be another archer. That however got me wondering why it'd just be Flower Knight plus unknown ninja troupe. Why would she be the only one with a name/face when they're all working for/members of the Phalanx?
That's what lead me to the idea of it just being her, and either projections/illusions of her, or alternate versions of her.
Edit; I do like the idea of Ninja/Time, like you said, that would also play off her only other appearance in game, in Ouroboros. -
Honestly I agree with those who think it would have made more sense for the Romulus stuff to remain ITF exclusive (since that stuff IS directly tied to the ITF's story), while the normal swords were included in the pack.
-
Ya know, as nice as it would be to see Flower Knight anywhere outside of Ouroboros these days.... she's just an archer (that we know of, she literally only has 1 power) so she'd just come off as "Female Manticore" in a way.
Maybe if her other powers were distinct enough though, it would help set her apart.
Make her a Ninja MM lol
Oooo Oooo... and her minions could be copies of herself. -
What it is is this: The power summons a pet (the trap), that pet in turn will self destruct and summon a new pet (the gas cloud) when an enemy gets near. The target cap of 1 is for the secondary pet summon.
If the target cap for that part of the power were higher (say 10 targets), and the trap "sprung" with 10 mobs in range, it would summon 10 gas clouds. Obviously that would be ridiculous.
The summoned cloud has a target cap of 16, and that is the relevant one.
