    No. Just no.

Foot Stomp is the set's only AoE. There's no way they should ever see it as reasonable to repeat the mistake of Martial Arts by removing Any and All AoE capability.

This is just my current Defender's build swapping Combat Jumping for Provoke. He'd lose about 4% defense, but has enough spare that he'd still softcap.

Now I kinda want to mod his build to include it.... cause the idea amuses me....
  4. Honestly I don't see it as an issue. Char animates twice as fast as Fossilize, even faster compared to Tesla Cage. Stone Prison is very slow compared to most other single target immobilizes. Lift animates almost a full second faster than Levitate.

Animation time really isn't that much of a balance concern (for the Devs, players are less forgiving) unless the power has an extremely long one (3+ seconds), and when the game was first made it wasn't taken into consideration at all. (Just look at Gravity Control, almost all of it's powers had animations over 3seconds in length.)

I think I am going to drop Propel. Yes, it is amazing compared to what it was. But Lift is now amazing too (at least on paper, I haven't tested it yet) and actually has a higher DPA than Propel. I was never a fan of the clutter Propel caused, and now I have solid reason to take Lift over Propel. (Yeah. I think Lift did more DPA before too. But if I recall, not by much.)

Trading in Propel for Lift will also allow me to skip Crush. I rarely ever use it on my high end build, and when I do I feel like I could be doing something more useful. Not to mention if I really need to spam an immob on an AV I still have crushing field.

With a power selection freed up from dropping Crush I'll pick up Dimension Shift. However, since I am already specced into Phase Shift, I may drop Phase for a travel power. Sure, playing two phases off of each other might be fun, but I dropped the travel for performance, not preference. Still undecided on that, though.

But I'm not likely to respec right away. What are the other Grav players out there thinking?
One thing to keep in mind before respecing out of Propel is that the current Live version is not the final version.

Once it finally gets patched in Propel will "Splash" knockdown 3 additional targets around your primary target (The damage will not splash, just the Knockdown). This doesn't improve Propel vs Lift for damage, but it does add extra soft control that may make it worth keeping.
  6. I could see most of these selling well actually. I don't see why they were rejected.

The R2-D2 wet bar was awesome. The Flashlightsaber was cool. The Cloud city lamp was neat.

And I'm not even a Star Wars fan. If I were then I'd definitely be saying:

I don't think this is really accurate. Darkness Control has an AoE Hold and an AoE Disorient, that's the standard for hard control. Most sets have additional AoE controls (Earthquake, for example), but they're soft control which Darkness also has in Fearsome Stare (And Umbra Beast's cone).

Mind is actually the only one with three AoE hard controls (assuming you consider Confuse a hard control, which I do in that it prevents all attacks against you for the duration , and isn't broken by damage), Telekinesis, Total Domination and Mass Confusion.
  8. I think they could just modify Snipes in the same way that Assassin's Strikes were modified.

Now, there's no way to base the activation on "Hidden" status, like AS now does, but I think you could manage it using the same "combat" flag that causes Stealth Suppression.

Out of combat (pulling, etc) Snipers use the long interrupt period and deal Superior/Extreme damage.

IN combat they just use their non-interrupt activation time (Generally 1.3ish seconds) for a more moderate amount of damage.

The others see the "unkillable" Ghost Widow fall, and they run away. Mako, Black Scorpion, Silver Mantis, all of them. Wretch, however, goes berserk and charges in, his fury taking Wade by surprise for a moment.

This gives Recluse enough time to give up on yelling at his minions to get back in there and fight. He turns to see Wretch fall, and realizes that there's no way he alone can take down Wade. So, instead he sacrifices himself to weaken Wade, giving you the opening you need to beat him.
But... Ghost Widow's already dead... I mean, you can still "kill" her, but all that'll do is dissipate her for awhile until she can reform.

Also, GW is the best and I'd never want to see her get removed. Heck I'd like to see her take over after Recluse gets the axe.

If I recall correctly, the Magi vault was in Galaxy City, so Azuria wouldn't actually have been the one at fault for those things going missing. All these years she's just been the one taking the blame.

So much this. Also, I dislike Des more after taking over the Carnival of Light. SHE'S NOT EVEN A PRAETORIAN why on earth is she now leading the Praetorian Resistance? What reason would they have to trust her? It's not like she's played -any- significant role (or any role at all) in their fight for freedom up to that point.

I dunno, Reactive's debuff proc directly increases damage for you and the whole team. I find it incredibly unlikely that Precognitive's chance for confuse could even hold a candle to Reactive's damage contribution, particularly since a confuse is absolutely irrelevant (as a damage tool) against single targets, which is generally when interface procs make the most difference.

Precognitive and Degenerative's lower damage was specifically due to the potential of exploiting a "less resisted" damage type against specific mobs (Incarnate bosses and Archvillains). This ignores the fact that Psionic and Toxic resists are actually fairly common among NPCs. Psi in particular is HEAVILY resisted by mobs that have protections against it.

    This!

We need a few dudes as slutty as folks like Mother Mayhem to equal things out. Typically, I would not support such an idea... but since boob-toons like her aren't going away, the Devs might as well play fair. Also, I think we need at least one GLBT character in-game... I don't think the Lore makes anyone officially fall into that category.
Unfortunately that's how the cookie crumbles in comics, and even greater fantasy in general.

More emphasis is put into making female characters attractive, than is placed on making male characters attractive.

    There are of course exceptions.

(Edited this post quite a bit, because I didn't really like how it came across the first time.)
  13. Oathbound

    i22 on MARCH 6!

Interesting.... so Darkness Affinity and the Gravity Control updates are going live without their latest changes being tested at all? (Or without the latest changes for them even being in the initial live build?)

    That seems.... questionable.
  14. Honestly the masks should be available in both Detail 1 and Detail 2 categories.

That would allow players to chose if they wanted to use the masks with the upper head details -horns, headspikes, the carnie crown-ish details- or with lower head details -Jester ruffle, umm... the lace collar from the steampunk pack? (Not too familiar with detail 2 for women since I very rarely play them)- and open up a lot more customization options.

(Edit: Likewise I think all of the "Horn" details should be added to the Ears category (for everyone). Some of the ear details already connect in similar manners to the horns, and having the horns duplicated in a second category would allow people to pair eye details like Sunglasses with them.

We actually do,... well, at least we know how she looked back when she was an art student, before she got the mask:

(Image links to her titan wiki page.)

We don't know if Praetorian Vanessa DeVore looks the same as Primal VdV or not though.
  16. Well, of course I have to mention Ghost Widow. Then I'll agree with those who say Mirror Spirit as well. And finally I'll add Praetorian Vanessa DeVore... even though we don't actually know what she looks like.

Inwhich case, yup...going to have to go with Maelstrom. He just has the look!

If we base it on personality though, I think I'd go with Synapse! He seems setup to have a Flash style personality (it's how I seem him anyways), with the rugged five oclock shadow going on to give him the appearance of having an edge to him.

He obviously needs a new outfit though.
Hmmm.... I hadn't considered the official artwork... if we're including that then I think Serpent Drummer was pretty hot in the comics. I could be misremembering though.

That wins my vote, though I'm not sure how much a guy vote counts in terms of "attractive."
Half the votes in this thread are from guys, so why wouldn't another one count? (I doubt it's really half, but a sizable portion of them.)

Seriously though, I don't think one needs to find someone else personally (specifically sexually) appealing in order to appreciate their beauty. I'm not interested in women that way, but I can still recognize the features and characteristics that makes them attractive to many of those who may be interested.

  21. General forum consensus seems to think that it'll either go live on the 6th, or the 13th, since those are the two patch days left between now and 2XP weekend...

I'm inclined to think that if it goes live one of those days, it'll be the 13th. There are still many powerset changes that have happened internally that haven't made it to the beta build yet.

They cut it's animation from 3.5seconds down to 2.07seconds.

Ultimately it's still fairly low on DPA compared to most of your ranged attacks.

Here's how Propel stacks up compared to Assault set ranged attacks. I also included Lift, since you'd have access to it as well.

Sorted based on DPA, Lowest to Highest: (Edit* replaced Damage Scale with Raw damage, since that's easier for most people to use or comparison)

UGH that's a jumbled mess, but I dunno how to make it look more presentable. I tried adding spaces so the columns lined up and it removed them from the post.

Long story short, even with the lower cast time Propel's only really decent for Earth, Thorns and Psi; and makes a reasonable third blast for Electric.

Lift will always outperform it be quite a bit though (depending on how you feel about the 2second delay before the damage applies).

I agree, for the most part. The very low res kinda hurts it a bit though. It(he?) has very kind eyes, and the salt n pepper scruff on #1 doesn't hurt either!

Foreshadow is nice, but almost too pretty.

I've always had a soft spot for Jimmy Temblor, even though I don't really like his face. (I only really like 2 or 3 of the male faces in the entire costume creator... which is why I almost always use the same one.)
