Quote:There's also the Clockwork King.Quote:Is that actually a stated fact anywhere in CoH lore?
Note: That's a serious question. Aurora Borealis, Vanessa DeVore, Sister Psyche, Penny Yin, Katie Douglas, Fortunatas and Seers greatly outnumber... Malaise, Psimon Omega and a handful of the Awakened (Is that it? I can't think of any other male psi-users). But is that just a writer tendency, or is Psychic ability somehow tied to gender?
Ultimately I think it's just a tendency of people to think of Psi based powers as being feminine. Psi Blast's base color is even bright pink, a "feminine color." -

Two girls out to prove that those "ridiculous poses" aren't that ridiculous after all.
My favorite is the one where she's showing off her new shoes.
Oh yeah. Now that's some "boobs and butts" I can get behind! -
Indeed!
We were promised Quarrelsome Employees! I demand a refund! This is a slap in the face!

Quote:Not the case. Cat allergies are generally caused by a specific protein, not the fur itself. Said protein is present in the cat's saliva and the sebaceous glands (which is how it ends up on the fur).I've heard stories that apparently hairless cats don't cause severe allergic reactions like others do.
But before you consider adopting I'd get a more professional second opinion.
I do love my kitties though.
Sphynxes can actually be worse than other cats for people with allergies... since without fur of their own, Sphynxes like to cuddle up to you for warmth, increasing your exposure to the allergen. -
Here's mine:
I track different stats depending on character, but always track my End Recovery, End Consumption and Last Hit Chance.
Tray 1 is for my most used powers (Heals/Blasts/Primary Controls/etc), Tray 2 is for long recharge powers that I don't need to use immediately off of cooldown. Tray 3 is for toggles and buffs (Ally buffs are generally bound to the numpad, but I keep them on my bars in case I need to buff a non-teammate.
Tray 4 is used for long recharge clicks. I keep them right around my normal attacks so that I'll notice when they're recharged, otherwise I'll forget them (particularly bad for a Time Manipulator).
Trays 5 and 6 I use for Nova/Dwarf forms on kheldians, using keybinds to switch them into the primary tray.
Tray 7 and 8 are for Vet/Temp powers.
Tray 9 is mostly just for Costume Change Emotes.
Team/League windows are still docked to the chat window, exactly where they've always been.
Any other windows (such as the map) I only open when I needed. -

Quote:Given the rumors of them editing out Super's bulge in the last film, that probably IS them having "done something with that area."If it weren't for the "S" I wouldn't have anything to distract from the crotch bulge. I get that the suit is supposed to be skin tight, but couldn't they have done something with that area? That bulge is going to be like three feet big in the theater.
You can't have a skin tight suit without a bulge unless there's simply nothing there.
Edit: Also, no offense, Suck it up. We've had decades of blatantly exaggerated female anatomy, a few hours worth of moderately accurate male anatomy isn't going to kill you. -
Quote:I've long suggested that Kheldians to get APPs along the same grounds. The Kheldian ATs are great for people who are primarily Kheldians and develop as kheldians.
That's not necessarily the case for all people who join with a Kheldian.
If someone was a hero before joining with a Kheldian, does that person forget how to use all of his/her existing powers?
My Peacebringer was supposed to be a later version of my FF/Psi defender (my first lvl 50) but it never made sense to me that he'd just flat out stop using all the powers he had before.
A Psi based APP would let me bridge his current and previous incarnations.
Likewise with anyone who had a kheldian character who was a metahuman in their own right before joining.
I do have a Dark/Shield scrapper who would like an Umbral power pool. He draws his power from his shield, which was carved from a damaged Shadow Crystal that contains an ailing nictus.
That said, Stygian Circle is a bit too much for any power pool, even if they doubled the recharge like they do with APPs. -

Quote:I'd like to see that, though I do recall one of the Devs once upon a time mentioning that Brawl actually has the most complex code of any single attack, specifically because it alternates the way that it does. This occurred to me when Brawling. Brawl alternates the right and left fist, and if you have a shield, sometimes a shield bash or kick. I'm not sure whether it's random or strictly alternating.
Anyway, it seems like this tech could be used for sets that have more than one animation (at this point I think it's a maximum of two animations, X or Y, but some day there may be more). I'd like to see an additional option for each power in the customization screen:
- Original Animation
- Alternate Animation
- Variable Animation
If you opt for that setting, sometimes your Super Strength character would Foot Stomp and sometimes he'd use the alternate Ground Punch animation.
I know the Standard Code rule applies, but this doesn't appear to be very different from the choices we have now.
This seems most workable with animations, because the range of choices is pretty limited. might work better than random colors. I leave it to the reader whether a variable color scheme for custom colored powers would be too resource intensive (I can imagine that reporting new colors each time to all players within view might strain the server). -
Meh. Let me know when they decide to build the Big-D.
(It would have been pretty cool, even though I never cared for the original series.) -

Quote:CURSE YOU! I've now spent like an hour on TVTropes.Accidentally ran across this on TVTropes...

...and it pleases me greatly.
Since not only are there more semi-out celebrity geeks than I'd ever dreamed of, the concept of having a D&D campaign DM'd by Dame Judi Dench is nothing short of mindblowing.
I found this amusing:

Odd that they're all PPM except the Kheldian, SoA and Stalker ones, which are %.

Quote:^These I agree with. Controllers and Dominators in particular I always associate with mental manipulation, either through direct influence (Mind) or via deception (Illusion).Blasters: Fire/Fire - (Note the devs actually used Johnny Storm as the template for things like the nukes)
Tankers: Superstrength/Invulnerability - It's a bird...
Controllers: Mind Control/Force Field
Brutes: Street Justice/Willpower
Dominators: Illusion/Psi (NOTE THE PRIMARY DEVS!!!!11!!)
Defenders: FF/Psi. FF because I see it as the quintessential comic/scifi method of protection. Psi because.... I dunno why, just because! (Biased, my first 50 was a FF/Psi.)
Scrappers: Street Justice/whatever - When I think "scrapping" I think of something like a throw down, no hold barred bar fight. StJ just fits that idea best.
Masterminds: Thugs/ or Mercenaries/
Corruptors: Dark/Dark - Basically just because of the connotation that "Dark = Evil" also because Dark sets are generally parasitic; leeching strength from their targets.
Stalkers are the tricky one, it seems the pretty common consensus is Stalker = Ninja, but I don't like ninja (They're as tired and played out as zombies, IMO), so I've never really viewed them that way. If anything Stalker = Assassin to me, but that conflicts with the actual design of the AT in that modern Assassins are generally ranged, not melee. -
Quote:It's a case of "out of sight out of mind" (out of earshot?).Bahhh, yeah, yeah you made a good recommendation lol. My favorite part about the combo is watching the the forcefeedback proc light up almost every mob. *grin*
Yeah, I'm sorry guys but you're blowing things way out of proportion. Yes the dog howls all the time, yes the dark barks all the time but at least he does his job and can survive a huge mob.
You guys are acting like he's the worse pet in the entire game YET! You think that Gremlins are fine! How lol. Do I or you live in an alternate dimension? That a pet that makes noise but actually does it's job is worse than Two pets who can't survive an alpha for longer than 3 seconds in?
Gremlins are basically mute, they don't draw attention to themselves, so most people won't ever notice how usefull/less they can be.
Umbra Beast however constantly draws attention to itself cause it's a yappy lil *******, which puts people into an unforgiving mood from the get go. -

Quote:You're welcome.I agree my stalker made most of my Doms take a back seat...except for my Elec/Earth Dom dear god is he amazing.
Yeah I agree. Half the time when I play my Elec/Rad controller I don't even summon them, cause they mess up my herding/placement and wake up mobs too much. -
Quote:Cause they weren't "added" to City of Villains, they launched with it, and they weren't really "added" to CoH... just kinda merged into it after having been around for quite some time. The idea of a Praetorian EAT is one that's been mentioned off an on for a while, and (as far as I know) never directly shot down by the devs. Assuming similar alignment/unlock requirements to HEATs and VEATs, PEATS might help make Praetoria less of a ghost town... make people play at least one Praetorian to 20 for access to the new AT, then make all PEATs start there just like VEATS have to start in the Rogue Isles now.
True, but one could easily argue that the niche filled by a new class in most games is filled in this one every time a new powerset is added. And we've seen dozens of those.
Also, why don't the villain ATs count?
I view Plant Control the same way. It didn't count as a new control set "added" to the game. It was *always* in CoV, which was in that weird place where it was as it's own game, in addition to an XPac.
My brain just works in odd ways like that. -
Here's my Warshade's looks:
I particularly like the sparkles aura for Warshades(and dark armor) because when I activate Shadow Cloak he looks like a lil starfield:
Here's my PB's current costumes too:

UGH WHY DID I LINK TO TVTROPES! Save me, I can't seem to get away! -
I think they intentionally kept her old outfit specifically so that her empowering by Mot had a clear visual indicator... some people may not see mission text due to not being the team leader, and a lot of people skim the text anyway.
If she had her new look already and just got bigger "whoopee" but by having a dramatic change of costume it has real visual weight.
(Could they have made her a new low-powered costume, plus a Super Mode costume? Sure. But unless it was just cobbled together from existing parts (which none of the other Praetor's costumes have been) then why bother wasting the time/resources if she's just going to change it 10 minutes later.)
