I'm kinda thinking Bio Armor's appearance will use the tech from the Victorian aura (Though in a less transparent manner).
Then I'm still hoping they go back and create alternative gfx for Ice/Stone using said tech. Ice Cube Armor has got to go!*
*(but still be an option for that odd people who actually like it)
Quote:Absorb would have to be considered Bio's "gimmick" I guess, if it was considered to have one, though I don't really see it as such. When I say gimmick, I was going by a redname saying "new sets will have gimmicks" so I'm guessing Absorb is a gimmick.
Dual Blades
Kinetic Melee
Street Justice
Titan Weapons
Staff Fighting
Dual Pistols
Beam Rifle
Time Manipulation
Nature Affinity
Beast Mastery
All of their set gimmicks require some type interaction between the set's own powers in some way, Absorption doesn't. It's more of an effect type than a set mechanic. -
Many of the support set's resistance debuffs are toggles (Enervating Field in Rad and Disruption Field in Sonic) or placed pets(Tar Patch in Dark) which debuff for only a very short time and tick very frequently, this is why they're autohit, because if they weren't they wouldn't behave in a predictable manner. (Mobs could be debuffed for 2 seconds, then not debuffed for 2 seconds, then debuffed again for 8 seconds, etc etc.)**
The long duration debuffs all require accuracy checks (Melt Armor in Thermal, Heat Loss in Cold, Slowed Response in Time, Acid Arrow in TA).
**Notable exception to this is Sleet/Freezing Rain, which does require a hit check, but checks so frequently (0.2s) and lasts so long (30s) that there's no gaps in coverage even without being autohit. -
Quote:Honestly I think that simply doing it with an established character is what the fuss is about.Honeslty, so much fuss over nothing.
And why does it have to be a publicity stunt? It can't just be that they are making a character gay in the reboot? Who cares anyway?
As to who....is Azrael in the new continuity yet? I'm a bit behind atm. He could be a major enough character for this.
Introducing a new character who happens to be gay is old news these days and wouldn't have gotten a second look, but that's not what they're doing (despite having said that was what they were going to do instead).
They're messing with established characters, and we all know how us nerds get about companies changing stuff on us. -
I wouldn't play.
It's not even really about wanting rewards, it's about sense of advancement/improvement for the character.
That's part of the reason I've never played max level characters much in any game. Once you lose the sense of forward momentum the game just stagnates and becomes boring and monotonous for me. -
Quote:Where I "get" comics and even like the medium, I just find that their storylines tend to be ridiculously convoluted and overly complicated. They tend to become far too soap opera-y for me to care what's going on for very long. That is something my brother and I have talked about . He is gay and he does not get cpmics book - never has.He has said why all the gays in comic books when he knows no one that is gay that reads them now. Maybe when they were younger but not as adult men. He laughs at me and my obssesion about them.
CoH has a fairly healthy LGBT population (certainly the largest I've ever been a part of in an MMO). If that's anything to go on, then there's plenty of gays and lesbians interested in comics (even if some of use aren't). I can appreciate that other people like them, they've just never 'clicked' very well for me.
I'm more inclined to write things like that off as simply being written with a male recipient in mind (given that that majority of the story line in the game was written by men). -

Quote:None of the groups' wiki pages seem to have been updated with their Dark Astoria incarnate mobs yet.I thought it was the Talon of Vengence but I don't think so...It may of been the New Additions to the Banished Pantheon...Prohestus or something? I need to wander around DA and check it out.
EDIT: I don't think that they've added all the new Banished Pantheon to Paragon Wiki Yet! -
Quote:I for one (as a member of said community) totally recognize it as a publicity stunt... But then I'm not really a follower of comics either, so don't particularly care anyhow. The sad part is the gay community as a whole will see it as some big step and likely award him, instead of seeing it as the publicity stunt it is.
But yes, sadly it'll still likely* be hailed as some sort of big step blah blah blah equality, blah blah blah, because let's face it... you take what you can get.
*unless very poorly handled -
Quote:I'd never actually watched Roll a D6 before, but...Roll a D6 (Parody song music video of "Like a g6" by Far East Movement)
1) It's actually pretty funny
and
2) Connor (the Ranger with the glasses) is kinda hot and has quite a sexy voice. -
Quote:Lots of debuffs (And buffs) will do that.I spent most of last night on a random PuG that was running the Maria Jenkins missions. The team leader was a level 48 or 49 Staff Brute and we were fighting mobs that were +3 to that person. I spent the whole night fighting as a 48, myself.
Except that during one of the missions, we ran into a room of level 54s that included the AV version of Nightstar. During that specific mission, our team was weighted heavily for Control and support, with just a pair of Brutes doing their melee thing. There were a /Kin, a /Time and a /Cold at least, though I was a bit too busy to check who else was doing what (Maybe a /Rad and a /Dark?)
We had a near-wipe from the surprise of finding the AV in the pile of other stuff were were killing and the sudden jump in difficulty, but after we regrouped and gave Nightstar all our attention, we were never really in any serious danger again.
The fight took about 15 minutes and I'm sure we would not have been able to do it at all with many group compositions, but the fact is that we took down an AV that was beyond the purple patch. All of the modifiers should have been in the AV's favor. The team hadn't worked together before, but we didn't even try to plan. It bothers me that we were able to do that. It's not like we were operating as a superteam or some other purpose-built configuration for taking down +6 AVs.
I'm also a bit bothered by the fact that something spawned as a 54 in a sub-level 50 mission, but I've seen that happen before.
Is the game just too easy now? Were we just that awesome? Has this ever happened to anyone else?
Stacking support has always been extremely powerful within the game, and without drastic (and quite possibly catastrophic) changes to the current gameplay mechanics, always will be.
Looking at the support sets you mentioned having you had huge amounts of +Damage, +Defense, -Resist, -Regen, -ToHit and -Damage.
Basically everything you'd ever want in an AV fight.
So yes, even if purely by accident, you were just that awesome. -
Quote:Err... yeah.... woops.Origin doesn't matter much. Your level and Alignment are far more important.
If you're level 35+, there are vendors in Cimerora, The Rikti War Zone, and the Midnighter's Club that sell level 35-50 SOs of all origins and are accessible by all Alignments.
I just assumed Blueside... though Redside is much simpler, since all origins have a quartermaster in all zones once you get to a level where enhancements care what origin you are. -
Quote:Depends on level.Hiya folks, I was just wondering where I go to buy Single Origins? I'm Natural if it matters. Thanks!
For Natural Origin you can get level 25-30 in Talos Island, 35-40 in Founder's Falls, and 45-50 in Peregrine Island.
Note that the Founder's Falls and Peregrine Island SO merchants will make you complete a mission for them before they'll sell to you.
You can also get them from the Vanguard Quartermaster next to Lady Grey in the Rikti War Zone. This is the option most people chose I think, since there's no mission pre-req. -
Quote:I'm honestly not sure.... I vaguely think it's uploaded on Sunday (I think I recall watching one on a Sunday anyhow, it's definitely not up yet).As someone who gets their Korra fix online, does anyone know when they update their streaming episodes?
I also watch it online, but well... I'm impatient... and there are other, less official, places to watch the show before then.

I have the same problem with the Praetoria Underground maps. I have to mess with my gamma just to see anything in there, which just results in the rest of the game looking washed out.
-
Pretty much the only one of the DA arc NPCs who's been able to keep up with me reliably was Scirocco.
I don't even bother with trying to keep the other lollygagers with me anymore.
Scirocco's also by far the most useful of the bunch. -
Quote:I believe this is because your stealth suppresses at the start of Heart of Darkness' animation, giving the mobs ~2seconds to notice you and initiate an attack. Once an attack has been initiated, you can't prevent it. (With the exception of interruptable powers.)If I skip FS and stealth in, then fire off heart of darkness for some reason EVERY single mob in the group gets to alpha me before the stun takes place.
It sucks. I really don't like Heart of Darkness being a PBAoE, and I really, really dislike the Dev's fondness for putting PBAoEs and Cones in the same set. -
Quote:I shall be the first to complain about that idea (and I don't even play a plant control character) and would much rather simply have the standard reduced accuracy modifier*.In a pinch I would basically do this to Plant Control:
1) Reduce damage on Roots to correct values.
2) Seeds of Confusion keeps current values, but chance to Confuse drops from 100% to 95%.
Some people will probably scream about #2, but it is really no different from lowering the accuracy cap of 95% for this power. You already have a 5% chance to miss, this makes it 10% instead without punishing you until you IO with +Accuracy. (This is actually how I think every Control power should have worked instead of having base accuracy lowered).
It IS different in that you CAN make up the lower base accuracy with slotting/Tactics/etc.
There's absolutely nothing you can do to improve a %based Chance to proc.
There's nothing I would dislike more than using a power, having it HIT, and it not doing a damned thing anyhow.
*AoE controls don't have a lower hit cap. It's still 95%. The difference is that their base accuracy modifier is lower, in the case of typica every spawn controls it's 0.8, so when you multiple that by the base 75% chance to hit you get 75*0.8=60% base accuracy for the power. Slotting 2 even level SOs brings that to ~99.5% tohit, which is then capped to 95%. (Note that this is against even levels, higher levels of course require more accuracy, which is still doable.)
Giving the power a 95%chance to proc combined with the 95% hit cap means that at most your total chance to land your control is 90.25%. -
Legend of Korra: I'm noticing an interesting trend of people's family members being killed by firebenders. Mako and Bolin's parents, Amon's family (supposedly), Asami's mom/Hiroshi's Wife.
Wild speculation time.... it was all the same firebender. No I have no factual grounds for such a claim. -
Quote:Where as I know him mostly as Chief Pope on The Closer, and the guy from the Farmer's Insurance commercials.Another surprise voice, J Jonah Jameson of both the Spider-Man movie trilogy and the new Ultimate Spider-Man TV series (voice) is also the voice of Aang and Katara's grown up son in Legend of Korra.
While on the topic of Legend of Korra, Mako is voiced by Bud Bundy. -
Quote:Ivy was simply the first thing that popped into my mind when reading "Extending" and "Sword."If you're going to do that, I'd rather just request chain/whip melee instead of... uh... sword... blast?
My post wasn't indicative of either support for, or opposition to the OP.
Having read and considered the OP though, I think it sounds kind of far fetched. -
I was going to post a picture of Isabella Valentine here.... but, I'm not sure if I can find one that wouldn't get me banned from the forums.

Quote:I knew she was going to stun her dad the second he offered her the glove.Legend of Korra: I don't completely trust Rich Girl. The episode went out of its way to make us and Korra like and trust her. She never noticed her dad wasn't ever in his workshop? Hmmm. "There's no way my dad could have a hidden factory under my home without me knowing about it". I agree, that does seem like something hard to hide from a daughter who seems so close with her daddy. So it makes her perfectly timed denouncement of her father in front everyone a bit suspect. He was already sponsoring the Ferrets and putting them up in his house to keep an eye on them, so we know he's a schemer. Planting his daughter among them for Amon doesn't seem like a far fetched gambit after that.
Whether her actions represent a true repudiation of her father and his support of the Equalists, or whether it's a calculated move to further her own agenda still remains to be seen though.
I'm still wary of Tarrlok myself. It seems a bit too convenient that by the end of the events of this episode Lin gave him exactly what he wanted (control over the police) by resigning.
(Also, wow that's a lot of Platinum. Most. Expensive. Wall. Ever.) -
Quote:He's also the father in the Stuart Little movies. To add one to the list...
While I knew about it before I watched the first episode, the fact that Hugh Laurie, one of the funniest and silly-faced British comedians that I've loved watching for years on Fry and Laurie and Jeeves and Wooster and the many Blackadders...
(he's one of those rare few that can make me laugh hysterically just be pulling certain faces and/or the way he acts)
Became enormously popular in America as an extremely gruff, American doctor!!
Not surprised at all by his skills, but I just always find it hilarious and BWAH-worthy!!
Not being a fan of Westerns, I've never seen Silverado, so the only way I'd have know Linda Hunt was in it would have been by checking her wikipedia/IMDB pages. -
Quote:I disagree with that reasoning as well. The rest of the warmer colors, particularly red according to BaBs, were removed because they made the ice graphics look like gems, which the devs wanted to avoid.
I can color Fire with greens and browns and have Toxic or Pollen/Spore based armor.
I can color Dark Armor blue and have Water Armor, or tan and have Sand Armor.
Why does Ice Armor HAVE to be Ice? WHY SHOULDN'T I be able to color it bright red and have "Ruby" armor, when I can do the exact same thing with numerous other armor sets?
Obviously this is a rhetorical question, since you couldn't give me a definitive or official answer, but the point remains.
