Howling Twilight is also an aoe disorient which can be stacked with dark pit, it's not just a rez
-
My fire/kin corruptor does OK in PvP even though he is not particularly specced for it. Like Sin, my favourite targets are /regen scrappers who have a problem doing much of anything with no endurance.
I'm looking forward to trying out my ice/dark corruptor in a few more levels. -
I have 3 level 50 defenders (kin/psi, dark/dark and rad/sonic) and all are more than capable of soloing on the hardest difficulty levels although I much prefer teaming with them. Just make sure to have a ready supply of break frees
IMO they become noticeably easier to solo in the 30s once you start getting all the extra slots and then again once you get the epic pools (power and psychic mastery in particular). -
Empowerment knockback protection is quite effective but only lasts an hour. There are a couple of invention sets that offer KB protection too but that option won't be available until i9.
For now I would go with either Acrobatics or Hover. -
It's quite good fun against embalmed vahzilok too
-
One other thing, as a defender you will probably find yourself being attacked first more often than not. It certainly keeps things interesting
-
But it will allow transference to be available more often.

But surely IR is an PBAoE Buff, not simply a Self Buff?
So doesn't that put it back into the rooting category?
[/ QUOTE ]PBAoE buff toggles (Dispersion field, shadow fall, tactics) are not supposed to root, so it would be logical for it to work same way for clickies.
[/ QUOTE ]
That was my take on it too but, as usual, we will have to wait until the changes hit test to see if that's right.
Back to the OP, apart from a brief flirtation with the leaping pool my kinetics defender managed just fine with Siphon Speed, Hover and IR all the way to 50. -

does on my kin def... which is odd, cause the patch notes implied that IR would be one of the powers which would no longer root you.
[/ QUOTE ]
It looks like click powers are still being worked on. -

i thought that rad's defence reduction would be great... but, lo and behold, i'll be damned if it's ever made a noticeable difference to any bad guys i've fought, in PvE or PvP.
[/ QUOTE ]
Which attacks did you choose? Irradiate does a whopping -37.5% Defense to Target for 10 seconds. Cosmic Burst does a similar debuff that lasts a little longer and also stuns but is single target. -
I've played both sets to 50 but not together so it's hard to judge how the powers will work together but is it wise to take both TK and Force Bubble? Don't they accomplish pretty much the same thing?
I also agree with _Echo_'s comments, my mind controller has Terrify slotted 2 Acc, 2 Rech, 2 Dmg currently. -
I will most likely use my new level 50, a mind/rad controller unless the PA drop team need more people.
-
The 20% per affected mob is an aoe around them while the 40% is pbaoe so for maximum buffage you want yourself and your whole team in melee range if possible.

I suppose 2 accuracy and my tactics running will max out my accuracy to pretty much anything? Just toying with 3 accuracy so I never miss (even against +4s which is what I think the reasonable maximum is for any toon). I have rad secondary for additional -def too.
[/ QUOTE ]
Assuming the mobs have no -tohit or +defense powers, 2 acc and tactics with 3 ToHit buffs should cap you out against +5s. Throw in Irradiate and you're laughing but keep in mind that you always have a 5% chance to miss.
Edit:
Used wrong name for irradiate -
I bugged it some months ago. As it's not and never has been on the known issues I can only assume it's WAI.
Personally I wpild take Superior Invis over Group invis evey time but if you want to stealth your team then you could try ditching Group Invis and take Grant Invis from the concealment pool. It works in a similar way but at least you can reapply it straight away after attacking/clicking a glowie. -

Why have hurdle over swift? If I already have SJ.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hurdle stacked with combat jumping makes for an excellent non-suppressible 'travel' power, especially when slotted. -
The one problem you may find with EM Pulse is that it stops your endurance recovery. I usually use Conserve Power to mitigate this but you won't have that as an option. Just something to bear in mind.

I would swap Maneuvers for Assault. For the majority of builds, it's not that great a power
I have a little constructive criticism of your slotting, purely from a PvE perspective.
Mesmerize: Base sleep duration is quite long so i'd swap the sleep enhancement for another damage.
Dominate: One of your staple powers. I slot it 2 acc, 3 Hold, 1 Recharge or 2 acc, 2 hold, 2 Recharge. Whichever works best for you.
Accelerate Metabolism: I would slot 3 Recharge, 3 EndMod. Run speed is not a major feature of this power, just a nice bonus.
Mass Hypnosis/Total Domination/Mass Confusion: 2 Acc, 2 Sleep/Hold/Confuse and 3 Recharge is generally considered the best slotting on these powers. Sleeps can be broken very easily but Hypnosis is a nice power when the team accidentally agros a second group.
Radiation Infection: I would slot with 3 ToHit Debuffs before anything else. It can reduce your teams incoming damage quite considerably. Top up with an EndRed, Range and/or DefDebuff as and when your playstyle demands it.
Enervating Field: Bit of an end hog. You might want to consider a second EndRed.
Lingering Radiation: Once you start fighting more AVs in the 40s, consider swapping the slows for recharges. Having the -regen component available more often becomes more useful than the slow.
Mutation: It really only needs a recharge in the base slot unless you have some slots to spare.
Indomitable Will: I would start with 3 Recharge and an EndRed. If you have spare slots add DefBuffs afterwards. -
Nope, the status effect can come from any source, even a confused NPC

The maximum you can get as a Controller is +47.21 S/L resistance in a epic shield (with +3 SOs in Temp Inv).
[/ QUOTE ]
I can confirm that. I just did a quick arena test and was taking 17.25 smashing damage with no TI, 12.07 with TI on my controller, giving it a base resist of 30%. Like Maelwys says, this takes you up to 47.21% with 3 +3 SOs. -
That didn't take long. Thanks all who joined.
I'll be keeping an eye on the DefiantBadgers channel tonight if anyone still wants to bash the WL as it may be the last chance you get for a while. Always happy to help if I'm free -
Also you get two ambushes at the end, both of which come in several waves. The first comes when you get near the vault door and the second when you grab the loot. I found it easier to clear the waves of the first ambush before clicking the loot.
When the hero comes, I tend to hide around a corner and attack whatever comes around first with my next biggest attack after AS so I'm getting a critical. After that, it's a matter of careful inspiration use. -
Which zone were you planning to do this in?

I still have an alt or two I wouldn't mind the badge on. Either day should be fine for me.
