  1. Look for smoking patches of ground in The Hollows and use a PBAoE attack

While I couldn't possibly be sure what the case was here, I'll just bring up the fact that health gained from +MaxHP buffs that is lost by taking damage does not count towards damage taken badges.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's correct. You are generally better off finding something that does higher damage attacks but with a longer recharge. If you can survive it, a Rikti Chief Soldier is a good way to go. The ones with the round shoulders only use their sword attack once every 9 seconds or so.
  3. Just logged in a dom and chugged a load of red insps. Damage bonus in the combat window showed as 300%
  4. The colour thing has never been fixed for me.
  5. I have Hasten + 55% recharge bonus on my ice tank which is more than enough to perma Hoarfrost and Rage. I can double stack rage for a good amount of time to avoid the -defense from the crash (wonder if they will ever fix that?).

Phobos is correct. When I used to run herostats by far the longest list of powers waiting to recharge was always on my TA. I got the list to stretch halfway down the screen once. After that I stopped using it cos it took up too much space! When I sometimes play my FF Defender on union I still use it, otherwise I'd forget to buff everyone!

    [/ QUOTE ]

You can set herostats to monitor or ignore whichever powers you want. It's under Hero Options -> Timers.

I seem to remember a similar error if the folder into which CoH has been installed has an incorrect date. I'll have a look and see if I can find the info.

    Edit:

    Found it:

There was an explanation on this one a while back from one of the US devs

    [ QUOTE ]
It looks like we've got this one narrowed down. As Houtex noted the issue is specific to the location that CoH/CoV has been installed to. In short, the folder has been given a vastly incorrect creation date (like the year 2101 or the like) that is causing the assert. Please note that this may not be the City of Heroes directory itself, but rather a parent folder. For instance, in one case the user's entire Program Files directory had an erroenous creation date which led to the assert.

While formatting and reinstalling will correct the issue (as the file creation dates will no longer be in gross error) you should be able to address the problem by using a third party utility to reset the date stamp on the affected folder(s). You may also be able to circumvent the issue by reinstalling CoH\CoV to a different location.

I'd also like to offer a big thank you to all those that were working with tech support to narrow down this issue. Without the error logs provided by you, it would have taken even longer to track down the problem.

Thank you all very much for your patience and understanding in this matter.

    [/ QUOTE ]

if that's the problem in your case, make sure your date and time are set correctly and then either reinstall CoH to a new directory or use this to modify the properties of the relevant folder. Just bear in mind that there's always a chance of messing up something on the PC when changing file/folder attributes - don't go messing around with the windows directory or anything like that.

    [/ QUOTE ]

As well as the above two options for fixing it you could:

(Assuming the game has been installed to a folder "City of Heroes" which has the incorrect date)

-make sure your system date is correct
-rename the "City of Heroes" folder to "City of Heroes_old" or similar
-create a new "City of Heroes" folder
-copy everything from "City of Heroes_old" to "City of Heroes"

Best of luck for the future, Rockjaw. And same to you Aero, and to anyone else who lost their jobs (Bridger? Wasn't he working on the unannounced MMO that got cancelled?).

    [/ QUOTE ]

The same goes from me and the rest of OV. Thanks for your efforts over the years.
  10. Try binding it to numpadenter
  11. I've soloed it on my kin/psi defender easily enough but I had to drop my rating to heroic for the last mission.

Re: the invite crash - that's a relatively new bug, as far as I'm aware, which the team are aware of and will fix as soon as they have a working fix.

[/ QUOTE ]It's at least over a year old, probably two, but I can't quite remember when I encountered it the first time.

The broken mission location in Mercy that was mentioned has also been there since CoV beta.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Prior to the last patch, if you got an invite when starting to zone you would get a message 'unknown command' something or other and the invite would need to be reset. Now the game client crashes instead.
  13. I usually take the first mission in that arc and then complete it when I am higher level (too many 'defeat all's for my tastes) and have always received them wedding band power. Of course it might have been changed since I last ran the arc a few months ago.
  14. Very much bugged. You can sort of get around it by arranging your characters as you want them then setting the slots file to be read only.
  15. The next one I could find is planned for next January.

    ED Reduction?

    Read this:

    http://cityofheroes.wikia.com/wiki/E...iversification

The short story is that it's generally not worth slotting more than 3 of the same type of SO/Common IO in a power. Set IOs complicate matters tho
  17. [ QUOTE ]
If you take short circuit ( which you should ) you are wasting it if you don't slot it with end-mod

    [/ QUOTE ]

I disagree. I have it primarily slotted for acc,dam and recharge. I find that the combo of Ball Lightning, Static Discharge and Short Circuit quite an effective AoE combo. When teaming I have found end drain to be mostly useless as everything is dead before it's drained. When soloing I find two holds more effective at taking care of troublesome enemies.
