Buck Salinger's arc is the one you need to do to get the introduction but it's never an actual introduction. You just need to complete his missions (including the humdinger that is his last one - get a good team of 5 is my recommendation).

When the ambushes start coming at the end of the last mission, I kill all but one who is kept alive but held/taunted and I go watch some TV for 15 minutes or so... -

It's been confirmed by Lighthouse that there's a bug with the spirit's spawn rate but no chance of a fix before the event ends. Perhaps it could be run again sometime soon?

Lets see, one time I wanted to see if TP foe worked on the bombs on the way to the reactor room in the TV respec....it does. I think I got 3 or 4 of my team with that
I've lost count of the number of times my little kinetics defender jumped into the middle of a group of Nemesis to Fulcrum Shift then nuke....only to be killed by all the exploding teapot thingies -

Glad you got it going, welcome to the game -
To the best of my knowledge, collaborative missions don't work if you have different contacts. If one of you took Burke and the other Kalinda then it won't work for capes or aura missions. I haven't tested that it works if you both have the same contact but, in theory, it should.
BTW, the same rule applies for mayhem missions. If you have the same broker you will be able to do them as collaborative missions, if not then you won't.
I'm sure someone will come along and tell me I am wrong shortly... -
I am not sure how to resolve your problem but would it not be better to just use the bind to fire the inspiration? For example, to fire any green insps you could use something like:
/bind f1 "inspexecname Resurgence$$inspexecname Dramatic Improvement$$inspexecname Respite" -
Just logged in to Union with no problems.

It should be noted that this is the first animation I produced using After Effects (rather than my preferred medium of Flash) and thus am not yet proficient. Also the first draft of this animation was used as a submission for a university module a few months ago, and I did rush it somewhat.

I've been playing CoX on Vista (64 Bit) for a while now and have had no issues except for the occasional crash that affects 8000 and 9000 series cards which is known about and a fix is in the pipeline according to Lightouse.
