Poison/Anything
Poison seems to melt everything. -
I know this is mainly a bots thing, but my demons are super squishtastic, unless I debuff things with poison, I lose demons left right and center.
And now they are not doing what they are told, which just means more dead demons.
However they do seem to enjoy ranged attack for the most part, but they definately dont substitue a good meat shield. -
Ok. I was horribly wrong!!!! While I was not having the issues mentioned above save with the zombies, my demons are now doing exactly what you are describing, even by placing them passive and then makeing them defensive and commanding them a lot.
It seems their just doing much of their own thing now. -
Im not having any issues with my Demons/Poison
I have my keyboard hotkeyed like crazy though, so Im constantly switching their actions. So far they do what I tell them without ever doing anything else, unless I purposefully let them go on a rampage.
Poison is great for allowing them to go ape wild, because it melts things down easy peasy.
I did however have this issue with my zombies. -
Yup. I do not have Syphon Speed yet. I think that is the definate issue right now.
Do you use Chemical rounds or Chryo? They sort of seem underwhelming. I use Chryo ammo only for suppressive fire. -
Ok. Thats kind of what I was thinking, and I have not really missed having it. My other illusion was trick arrow, and benifitted from it. But, my defense seems solid without it.
Group invis it is!
Thanks -
I just wanted to share with you all how much fun my Ill/FF.
I didn't like her at first. As a new player this was really a slow builder. Then I took flurry...and I didn not know that the Controllers double damage thing applied to these. Then I started going a little nuts. I took fighting pool, jumpkick, and flurry.
The result is great. I use illusion for some control, but then beat everything up, with the Tank/Brute, Stalker and Scrapper.
My main thing is that I have not taken Invis, but I have Weave and forcefields for defense.
Would you take invis just for sneaking, or would you slot it for defense and End Redux? I dont want to run to many toggles, but Weave has been working quite fine for me along with times use of Personal forcefield.
I also use superspeed which has stealth.
So thats the question. Would you take it? Or would you leave it? Or would you take it just for stealth stuff? -
Ok.
I have had some altitis, and I have 4 toons on the go.
I have
Ice/Thorns Dom (Really good damage and control=Solo's excellently)
Illusion/FF Controller (With the fighting pool, jump kick, and Flurry she is a brutal beast and solo's amazing)
Demon/Poison MM (This toon melts the faces off of purple meanies)
And finally my Corr. Dual/Kin'
This is a dissapointment. Maybe Im not swapping ammo right, but Fire and normal bullets seem ok. Bullets seem lower damage but the knockback is usefull.
Id post my build. but really all it is more of the pistol stuff, with Siphon Power, The Heal, and Density. But...Meh...Finding it really hard to play. Although Kin is amazing. But Im not dealing enough damage to kill someone like James Noble at one level lower than myself. If it regens, I can't kill it.
Any advice? -
Ok. So looking at the trees, for my Dual/Kin, Spiritual looks good.
-
Wierd.
I have played a ton of games and MMO's, and PVP is always broken. Or at least that is what everyone in every game has ever said since the beginning of PVP.
I think Chess is the only game where PVP is ok. Maybe Checkers. But other than that, PVP is broken in every game.
I wanna take my illusion/FF Troller into PVP eventually though. Mainly because she is so rediculously built that losing will be easy, but when I win....man that person will feel pretty crappy. I wont even need to trash talk...the build does it for me.

Quote:Oooooooohhhhh.....Weeeeee!There's also nothing more fun than hitting a Giant Monster with Tentacles and see even bigger Giant Tentacles come up to surround it.
Now thats what Im waiting for! That sounds awesome. I think the only reason I have super recharges on it, is because it's my favorite thing I have. -
Wow...Ok. I made some changes and I see your points. The only one I kept the -acc was in dark blast. Mainly because it's quick and I can proc it lots. It does seem to help my teammates though which is good for me.
Funny though, originally I was going to go sonic. I went dark because well...Sonics sound effects melt my already fragile mind....the meds help, but not enough.
Plus...Tentacles! I dont even know if Tentacles is a super awesome power, but it looks awesome so it's good enough for me.
Ill slot more for damage, because that seems to be where I am lacking.
Dark Pit is something I just picked up. It's slotted right now for one recharge rate, one accuracy and one disorient durration.
Thanks again for all the help.
I am having fun, so I guess thats what matters. -
So, I love Corrupters, Doms, and Controllers. Then I got the idea to play a defender, a AT I have always never enjoyed playing.
Well, the funny thing is that my Force Fields, Dark Blast has now become my most favorite character I have ever made in my entire time playing this game.
I had altitis and well now I just cant stop playing this defender.
My question is, that I been amping up my accuracy debuffs on Gloom, and Dark Blast, and the Tentacles (Which I love love love)
Now if Force Fields work to deflect damage outright and not resist it, it would seem that Dark and Forcefields would be the best combo ever, because Im messing with their accuray, which lowers it, but by increasing mine and others defense means more deflections.
Is that an accurate statement? Or have I completely missunderstood this synergy...or lack there of. -
I know I should not be posting here with my Dom's oppinion of the power, but I will anyways
I like it tons. I am Elec/thorns and I find it invaluable to me because I can aid tanks and brutes. Also because Im melee based it really does keep enemies off balance.
As a Troller though I could see it being even better because it's soft control mitigation and if you are working with storm which has a ton of knockbacks then a knockdown is pretty appreciated by melee types like myself.
Overall, I have to say that it's a solid power, and more usefull in teams because of tank/brute aggro grouping enemies together.
Plus it looks good and is funny to watch the chaining. Bouncy bouncy bouncy -
Quote:Wow. Thanks MentalMaden, thats really appreciatated. It's funny how we both have similar concepts. That's funny, my Ill/Therm is a showgirl/stage magician- Flashpowder Jane.
Planning is always good, I just wanted to know the level so I have an idea what to tell you. I'm about to leave work, but I'll give you a little write up on what to expect and some ideas for future power choices.
Thanks a ton. -
The fun part about certain corrupters is the secondary aspects of their powers. For instance my rad/Dark uses most of her abilities to proc debuffs. Sonic blast is great for that as well because it increases your damage each time you use it, especially if you outfit it.
Fire/Dark is brutal, but I have never been a huge fan of fire, but it's great damage. Overall, I love Dark Miasma, because it gives survivability and more control than some of the other sets. But again thats just me. -
Quote:Thanks. Actually your guide helped me out muchlyTake a look at my Illusion/Radiation guide, linked in my sig. It has a full discussion about Flash and why people are critical of the power. (I recommend taking it, but later.) Although the guide is aimed towards Ill/Rad, there is a lot of info in there that can help you.
Take Spectral Wounds along with your Blind and Deceive. In low levels, you should be acting mostly as a single target controller/blaster. You don't really get good team-oriented powers from Illusion until level 18 with Phantom Army.
I know that Mental Maden's first Illusion controller was an Ill/Therm, so she may have some sage advice for you. Therm is kind of a combo of Rad and Emp with a touch of Sonic's Resistance shields thrown in. If I didn't already have too many alts, I'd consider rolling one up. -
Im a planner so I was looking ahead. She is 15. She will hit 16 any moment really. Ill have new options, but I think Ill go with Imp invis.
I dont find her to hard to solo at the moment as I have specced Decieve to be quick recharging.
Im thinking, that Ill focus on Flash very much later. It might be a good Oh (Stinky stuff) Button at later levels.
Plus, I find the graphics for Thermal to be very flashy and pretty, and it fits with Show-Girls Glitz and glamour. -
Nah...it's just happening all the time. I am wondering if I should give up. Im not angry about it, just find it frustrating.
-
My Radiation Blast/Dark Miasma solos like a fiend and is awesome in groups. I have fun with her, but she is a little to easy to play. My heal out ranks, many of the other healer sets. Although I really did spec Twilights Grasp for healing, and accuracy debuff.
Rad just makes it like pie. It's not as damaging but I use it specced for damage, recharge and defense debuffs.
It's like...insanity what she can do solo, and what she can do in groups. Shes fracking nutso! -
Ok. So originally Show Girl was Illusion/Sonic, but sonic bored me so much I thought I was gonna passout.
Im wondering if anyone has played Illusion/Thermal. So far it's usefull, but I find myself not really controlling anything but more as the team healer and shielder. I dont get many kills.
Flash seems like a good idea however, but many guides say it's slow and not the best for taking. Im also not sure how it would mesh with Thermal, considdering I find thermal to be very endurance costly. Especially on teams with insane scrappers!!!
It just feels that right now, for the time being illusion is the weakest link, and my thermal seems to be more usefull, so I seem to be ignoring my primary and slotting the secondary stuff first.
For slotting of Warmth, or Cauterize, using the basics, should It be 4 slots each with 3 heals and a recharge?
Now for the control issue. I have decieve and Blind. Thats it. Blind is great, Decieve is great...but Im not really controlling anything. I like it, and feel usefull, but it all comes down to Flash!
Flash seems like it would be the thing I need to fit the bill as a controller for lockdowns to help a team. Would you advise on taking flash, or should I skip it, focus on superior invis and be the teams hidden healer/Reser? -
I have my Grav/Storm just starting. I have noticed that Grav is solid (Not so much for doms though it seems) but storm sometimes ticks off the melee bunch, even when Im using something like the hated gale to get enemies off of our blaster or glass cannons.
However Soloing is wonderfull. Although it looks more chaotic than illusion storm it's definately not. with the amount of propel you will use it looks like a junk yard after you are done.
Key thing I find is hover. Hover Hover Hover. You can then gale things or knock things down and hopefully line it up right so it's more of a knock down than a knock back.
But still, I have seen our knockbacks really change the face of the game. -
Ill be honest. For a thematic toon I have called Show-Girl, I used it...then I remade her. I found sonic to be effective, but extremely boring.
I now have her as Illusion/Thermal...It's prettier, the sound effects are better and it's not so darn boring. Oh, and not as slow. I find Sonic res to be very slow in the animation dept. -
Well. I have isolated the issue to a pattern. It's the underground tunnels that give me the issue. The rest of everything is fine. The router seems good and I have been trying to note things.
It just seems it's the tunnels, especially escort missions -
Quote:I read this section and noted that you later indicated that it has been happening in all missions. The fact that it keeps happening "near the end" of this particular mission suggests to me that it might be happening at a REGULAR INTERVAL. Time it. Seriously. See if the time between mapserves is the same each time. If it is, that tells us that some hardware or software is doing something on a fixed schedule that interferes with the game.
Oh, and is your router wired or wireless? If wireless, can you connect with a cable for testing purposes?
Im connected directly to the router. I have completed the same mission I was having issues with. By using my invisibility power to bypass some of the ghouls in the tunnels.
Then I was stable for like hours. So Im not sure if it's a time thing.
Im going to try a different server to test this out, but from what I am hearing on global chat this has been happening to others as well.
Oh I also "Just in case" updated the drivers for the router, rebooted it, and also updated the firmware (I dont know what that is, but I was told I should)
Hopefully I can figure something else out. Ill check back with my ISP tommorow
