    Awesomeness!!!

No more having to lug multiple books onto the airplane when I travel. Plus I have all of my work manuals on it.

    Twas a very happy day.

ohhh nice. I want one of those thingies. Just not sure if I should go with the one from Amazon, B&N, or the one Apple will be producing.

    Comic-Con 2010

Hero-Con - Yes. . .Got money put aside.

Comic-Con - nope As it is now with Tweets and live streams, you can find out info very very quickly.

Does anyone know of any must see movies that might be previewed?
  3. I think they title says it all.

    Star Trek Online

The game is fun. I enjoy the space battles. I went with an Escort ship (which is smaller and has more fire power) as it seemed the most blaster type of ship they have. There are also Cruisers which act more like tanks, where they can take more of a pounding. The third type is your Science, this ship's primary role is to buff and debuff enemies.

A basic mission might run something like this. You get a communication from a contact at Starfleet to go to planet X and report back. So off you head to the section of space that has your mission. As you near the X system you get a pop up that ask if you want to enter into the system (enter your mission instance). Then you are given a cut scene of your ship coming out of warp into the system. (Yes it is very very cool looking and hasn't gotten old for me yet.)

Then a communication comes up form one of your bridge officers about what why Starfleet has sent you here in the first place. Lets say that first you need to fight off 4 Klingon ships. So you fly around till you find your enemies and blast them. Now once you have done this, the mission might ask you to beam down to the planet and investigate why the Klingon's were here in the first place.

This puts you in your instanced away mission, which could be a small open map, cave map, or tech base map. There is another cut scene that shows you and your team beaming down into the instance. Your away team is made up of you and your bridge officers (a total of 4 NPCs) that have special skills and abilities that you can use. The mission goals could be to clear the map or click glowies and such. Once you are finished with the mission goals you communicate back to Starfleet and warp out and on to the next mission.
Now that is a very, very basic outline of how a rather simple mission is in the game.

I do enjoy playing the game. I haven't tried teaming yet. I am not a fan of the "open teaming" system that they have. From what I hear basicly anyone can join your team if they are in the same planet system with the same mission. I am also not a fan of this one server system.

Is the game perfect? No. Missions are buggy. Server stability is an issue at the moment. I would give the game an overall C+ grade (or a 3 star) rating. A Star Trek fan might give a higher score, as I am sure that I have missed out on some hidden nuggets or lore and Easter Eggs in the game.
It's not enough to pull me from CoX or Lord of the Rings Online.

    Star Trek Online

I picked up the game on Tuesday and played a bit Wednesday. Ensign Nylonus is now the Captain of the U.S.S. Freem.

And I've set my phasers to: FABALOUS! ! !

There is a City of chat channel. In the channel tab type COX as the fleet name to join. This seems a little more active than the PARAGON fleet channel.
  8. Also the Oroboros flashback arcs can be run task force style. Just need to get a group of players together who are willing to run through the whole arc story. We did this on Proctecor with the Freak-Olympics arc, we were all dressed as Saturday morning cartoon characters. The game is so much fun seeing Papa Smurf pound on a Freak Tank.
  9. I think Badge was just being a cheapskate and waiting till Chirstmas cards were maked down 75% off before buying them.

    Thanks Badge

Who do you think your kidding? Your just in it for the guys.
  12. But where the @#!&#* is the Jester's Court!?!?

    Star Trek Online

There is a thread about this in the Comic Book culture part of the boards, but I was just wondering if anyone here from Protector has tried or planning on trying Star Trek Online?

I think I will give it a try. I know that they have put in some changes that have upset the player base. (Hummm imagine Cryptic doing something like that?) But from the most part it looks like a fun game.

I doubt that I will get a subscription and most likely just pick up game cards to play the game when I want a change.
But I was just wondering if anyone else has tried or is going to try the game out.
  14. Great now I am going to put up my Winter-een-mass tree! !

Now I just need to convince HR that I need this week off as a religious holiday.
  15. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your girlfriend's family WRider.

  17. Happy Birthday GA!

I would ask how old you are, but we all know that math is not one of your strong skills.

And your birthday wish of Protector dying - NOT GONNA HAPPEN.
  18. Is today the show that you are reviewing the arc that you ran on Saturday?
  19. Hope you had a Happy Birthday.

    Best Teams Ever

Well maybe not the best teams ever. . .But a few that I might like to see. . .

An all Trick Arrow - Manticore run. . .Actually anything that does not feature Clockwork would be fine.

    3 Peacebrings + 4 Warshades + 1 RastafariMan = fun???

I do wish the Sushi club was still around. . . It would be fun to run on an all Kheldian team.
  21. I will join ya. Most likely I will do this with Philoktetes - Trick Arrow Defender.

By the way have you reviewd this arc for AT? Or is it set for next weeks show (1/21)?
  22. Of course as soon as you finished with the review of my Jason arc. . . The KJSR player on my work pc freezes up. Looks like I will have to download the show.
  23. I think that River has the right idea. . .Double rewards with diminishing returns.
