Thank you for the reply. I'll certainly replace the grave nights' def debuff- that seems like a sexy substitute. Will also check out the lich changes and stress test the recovery.
For the Soulbound proc, I'll just have to watch the combat log. Is there a tool to analyze the log?
Thanks again!
Quote:I can chuck out two or three things that might help you.
One: Invention defense debuff in grave knights. Replace it with a lady gray damage proc. Either you're hitting already, which means it's probably useless. Or you're missing which means it's not debuffing anything.
Two: Soulbound proc in Grave knights. Last I expirienced about a year, year and a half ago, it doesn't actually do anything unless the pet is level 50, or above. So... I'd experiment with that one.
Three: I would find that build anemic in recovery terms. But I like to overslot for that, so your mileage may vary.
Four: In my necro/dark, I chucked an endoplasm exposure onto the lich. His status effects are worth extending. Even for a little. His damage is actually ... a bit more then what you'd think it would be too, due to a large amount of it's AOE nature. -
Hiya Forumistas -
I recently resubscribed, in part due to the amount of fun I was missing playing my necro/dark (and because I received an e-mail from NCSoft offering a couple days of free game time but that's not important - I eventually resubscribed to feed my CoX addiction).
In looking over my beloved mm, I noticed some problems that I have tried to alleviate. Below is the build to which I am working, and I would appreciate some assistance in making sure I remain on the straight and narrow.
I use this toon to masochistically play incarnate content and while farming merits. It has T3 alpha musculature but no other slots as yet unlocked (I know the mids data lists something else - I can't seem to change it). I have most of the enhancements included below, or can afford a reasonable amount of improvement.
Key questions:
1) I know my resistance shield slotting stinks - is there a better recommendation?
2) I have focused primarily on recharge with the goal of overlapping howling twilight when soloing big game.
3) Is it worth shifting PPP and slots around to def cap a necro/dark (or within one inspiration) and play like a tankermind?
4) anything else ....
Thank you for any help you can offer.

Silas: Thank you for another wonderful guide. As always, it is a joy to read.
And, can I have some hot burning influence straight into my rectum now?. Please? -
I have read many fire/Rad build critiques that recommend the psi (mainly - big thanks to Local Man for his many useful posts on this topic ) or earth app. Understanding the need for mez protection, what experience do more seasoned fire/Rad controllers have with the various patron power pools. I confess to being attracted to the pbaoe's in soul.
Is the mez protection of psi simply too sweet to pass up? Are the patron power pools best left to secondary or concept builds? -
M.Z. - Thank you for linking that thread. I'm a little overwhelmed right now.
Wow! -
The core of the primaries has remained stable over many many issues. The stickied guides at the top cover everything but demon summoning.
The main change of recent vintage is a global adjustment to mastermind henchmen behavior: they now favor melee rather than range and will run into melee range even if they are primarily "ranged" pets.
In addition, I would highly recommend you check out Zaprobo's general guide to the modern mastermind. -
I've followed this thread from the beginning, but one of the assumptions passed around troubles me: do groups even ask for healers? I've never seen it happen, on any character, on any server, for any group type (whether a tf/sf or what have you) at any time since coming back with i19. I've seen lots of people looking for */kins but that's about the only specification I've come across (mainly on Freedom if it matters). Most times when I respond to a LFM broadcast, the team leader doesn't care or want to know at or primary/secondary selection.
After playing other games,it seems that one of the strengths of the CoX system is that you don't need any particular combination to succeed for most encounters (exceptions like the weakened hami portion of LGTF notwithstanding).
So, where does this idea come from that teams are looking for a healer? Is this a relic of earlier issues? -
Quote:You might simply not enjoy the class - controlling pets is part of the AT. Conceptually, giving a direction to a pet is like making an attack on another AT.You're right, I only got into one facet of it since my main dislike just goes with 'pet class' types altogether. I hate having to manage extra things like that, it drives me nuts eventually. ....Nonetheless, managing pets can get on my nerves more than stacking buffs.
Have you checked out the threads on pet controls?
As for the combo's in which you have an interest, the only one in which I have direct experience is a merc/pain. It's slow. Very slow. But teaming is simple - some people really like heals --- just check this thread: healsftw -
@OP Was your tip box full from villain-side before switching over to Independence Port? You can only have three in your queue at any one time.
-
Quote:I'll second this - especially for the Resist or Defense bonus aura for pets IO (active whenever Soul Extraction creature is summoned). I sacrifice a zombie just for this whenever the cool-down of Soul Extraction is up.Soul Extraction is good if just to have a place to slot the pet auras from the recharge intensive pet sets.
Edit: 1st post?!?!
