Okay, maybe I'm a newb or something but can someone explain to me the "hate" thing and pecking order of damage, I read that patch note about it and just didnt get it.

You weren't the only one. Thanks, Nowaki.

I think we really need a redname to offer an explanation of that one. I've paid close attention to gaming mechanics, and this pecking order stuff is news to me.

Yep, there's a reason that was a winning story.

As a paying customer, I'd like the option to take over another paying customer's account, thereby silencing his voice and adding it to my own.

The idea is teh funnay though.
The most wanted guy in all of CoH. A poor lil' Infected. Running from entire legions of level 50 Heroes.

I guess the only speedup you can do is to be in a team of 8 when one of the team defeats him, so you all get credit.

I bet people there trying to actually do the battle might be miffed to be dismissed by people teaming up to hunt down that poor Contaminated Thug. I can totally see this happening.

11. You want me, come and get me.
One thing Players are especially bad at is searching the hollow spaces in walls, floors, and ceilings. If you hide there, its entirely possible they might never find you. And if you spot them first, just stick your gun out and start shooting: you'll be surprised at just how effective a defense one quarter inch of drywall can be.
[/ QUOTE ]
Caveat: Some players will play dirty and summon an entity called a "GM". Unfortunately, even the most well-hidden are no match for this GM. Hide well, and pray to whatever deity you hold dear that the players do not summon, or are to impatient to wait for, said GM.

NO, please don't. Send it to the COH Writer's Guild, as Ockham mentioned above.

I couldn't read that text. That crap was all gray to me.

I've given up trying to re-learn my characters. I haven't respecced since I4, unless it was for purely character-based reasons (after Fantastic Four came out, my force field defender just =had= to have Invisibility!).
I've learned it doesn't matter what we want, the game is going to change to discourage powerleveling. A fact I like to point out every time a PLer says, "PLing doesn't hurt anyone! Why can't I do it if I want?"
Remember kids, PLing hurts you. And your little dog too.

Miss Abyss, nice job! And thanks to Zloth for hogging most of the film. (Good thing I'm in his SG and got a couple of cameos.)

Ah, but there is an excuse - they don't get influence past 35. Big deal? Yes, it is a big deal to some. Specifically - it is a big deal to me.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wait wait wait, if you're in SG mode you don't earn xp after level 35? Are you kidding me? In addition to having to tweak the SG settings for each freakin' costume change, you don't earn xp? WHY IS THAT NOT IN THE PATCH NOTES?
Man I gotta start coming to the boards more often to find out how this game really works.
--NT
Edit: I said "xp" but I meant "influence". I was so freaked out I couldn't do it right.
-
Wow, does it only stealth your skirt? <ogle>
--NT -
Ok I can understand the frustration of high level players who have been saving lots of influence under the perception that they would pay for bases with it.
And I can understand people that rankle at having to wear the supergroup insignia just to earn "Prestige" points.
BUT...
It =IS= a supergroup base, is it not? How better to "pay" for it than by being in supergroup mode (even if you use your normal colors)? As one person above sarcastically said (without, ironically, realizing the truth of what he was saying), "Conform and benefit the team or go rogue and look cool." Yes, benefit the team, because it's a team base, not yours alone (unless you're a lone wolf SG).
And, this Prestige idea is more fair to low level players that don't have tens (or hundreds) of millions in influence. A group of level 15s that have been playing in SG mode is just as able to have a base as a group of 50s doing the same thing.
So, happy with the idea or not, I can see the reasoning behind it.
Besides, like Cantalus says, it's still a ways off. Don't pop a vein over a rumor.

Umm, you know, it's entirely possible that the two people having their "in-game wedding" are having an RL wedding as well. Spouses do play this game. Or am I missing something?
It's also possible that everyone involved are just big dorks, but come on...why just assume that out of hand?
Anyway, you're right, EQ players are damned creepy.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's possible. But I'm reminded of a close friend that played a lot of DAoC. He told me that a male and female character in his guild had an in-game wedding.
The creepy part is both characters were played by real-life males. I just don't get people sometimes.
