I try to do the same thing, but with far fewer posts.

Great writeup, Prof_Backfire. I think you nailed the hero levels.
And people that [censored] most about the lower levels are us jaded vets who are used to zipping around in "Awesome McGodpants" mode (nice one, Imp!). If you're new to the game, like we all were once, it's still pretty amazing to level up fairly often and get a bunch of new powers.

Every day I don't buy the Super Science Booster is another day I get like nine-millionths of a cent of interest on the money I've set aside for it. I'm slowly but surely getting richer as this booster pack is being tested!

My position is this: Farming unimpeded within RV is wrong. NOT simply because it is a carebear thing to do. but because of two things: 1) It is against the design and spirit of the game. 2) It is an activity that precludes other players from doing the same thing.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wait, so his griefing is allowed because it's within the rules of the game, but when people farm in RV because the game allows it, it's wrong?

Twixt was a hero (blueside) player. The fact that the Powers That Be did nothing proves they hate Villains.

Latest doom? AE and farming/PLing.
Well, maybe not the latest, but certainly the biggest ongoing doom at the moment.

I didn't read the whole thread, but I agree that Stamina should be inherent.

They moved it to Cimerora and it got trashed by a Macedonian hoplite army.

From the originally-linked article:

Myers was stunned by the reaction, since he obeyed the game's rules.

Maybe he also got banned for PLing in AE.

What's the point of the doors to the AE buildings?
[/ QUOTE ]
It's not "What's", as in "what is the point", but "What're", as in "what are the points" of the doors. Being rectangles, there are four points.
If the glass could break, there would be thousands of points. But that's beside the point.

I think the chat bug is taking so long to fix because the devs are trying to work in an auto-(( )) feature for Virtue.

Council Hoverbots do it too. But they both (drones, hoverbots) stop doing it after a short while.
Still, very fun.

The answer is to update all pieces to hi-res and give all pieces the same set of finishes.

I couldn't agree more. But I'll try.

but if the number crunchers say im wrong, then they are probably right because i have no idea what the actual numbers are lol.

Generally speaking, and there are exceptions to everything, running missions at difficulty level 4 (not 5) gives you larger spawns of easier-to-kill minions and lieutenants. Bosses give you more xp per critter, yes, but have more hitpoints and take longer to kill. Rolling through large minion/LT spawns gets you more xp/hour. Especially at double xp.
Use that same team of 8 that's in your MA boss mission and you'll see your xp bar fill up pretty fast.

I want to open the door to the mission and shoot the guys I see between the end and me. I don't do "tactics" or "strategy". The extent of my playskill is "close eyes" "throw fireball". I'm going to turn the difficulty to 5 and run at the bad guys. I do this for each and every Task Force and Strike force regardless of who's on my team and what the common perception of "this is how this TF is done" may be. Statesman and Recluse Task/Strike Forces included.

I think you should start your own global channel. I'd join it in a second.

So what's the fastest 1 to 50 time you have heard?

If I cared, I probably would have remembered what I heard.

I bet that doing MA boss farms at regular xp is probably better xp then double xp non-MA content.

You'd lose that bet. But people in the game have consistently proven their ability to ignore the crunched numbers and stick stubbornly to what they know.

Great stuff, MOO!
I led a PUG team on AE missions the other night. The only thing I'd add to your guide is, "Become familiar with the Search interface."
If you don't have favorite arcs yet, or just want to try something unknown for the hell of it, being able to quickly find a non-farm arc that covers your team's level range will keep everyone happy.
What worked for me: Search for 4-star arcs, start on page 4, then look at descriptions to find non-farm arcs. And my biggest surprise of all, no one complained that the difficulty was set to level 1. We just went through the missions and had fun.
