What of this statement that has been confirmed by the devs do folks not get?

You'd be surprised what a sense of entitlement can help you ignore.

Double XP weekend is coming. I'm just sayin'. I mean, come on, it took you almost two years to get this far, what are two more weeks?

Yes... I just said it was hard to drag my eight year old away from outdoor activities and make her sit in front of a computer to play games.

She could be an example for us all. Except I don't want her to be. <grin>
Regarding Sibling Rivalry, I watched the other night as someone in a channel I'm in copied and pasted all the descriptions of the disco trolls. Awesome.

It still amuses me, in a really sad sort of way, that hitting the Spam button causes someone else to drop OFF my Ignore list. I just hit Delete now.

I figure it's a long-gone spammer account that's dropping off anyway, since I never ignore anyone, so I keep using the Spam button to add new spam accounts to that long-gone list.

I list everything for 5 influence. Sometimes a level 53 SO will sell for 500; sometimes a piece of rare salvage will fetch me 2 million. Whatever, I don't need it, or I wouldn't sell it.

Don't they read? Didn't they do the tutorial that explained how contacts work, how enhancements and combining enhancements work, and all that?
[/ QUOTE ]
Most likely, no. Unfortunately, many people today don't want to spend the time to learn, they want to jump into the fun. Not that I can particularly blame them for wanting to do that.
Yes, it'd be nice if, on a more complicated game like an MMO, they invested a bit of time to learn what's going on. But there's fun to be had, and, "Oh, I can learn the details later."
The "Enter tutorial zone?" was added for existing players who didn't need tutoring any more. Unfortunately, it provided an out for those who do.

Or a "Spam All" button. Since it's all spam, all the time, one click would make it even easier to ignore them.

I've always been fond of the abandoned "zoo" on Monkey Island in PI. Old timers who have farmed Rikti monkeys for the 10,000 badge know all about it.

Paragon City has an AE building in every zone . . . but only one university.
Disconcerting.

Perhaps if Paragon City focused more on education and less on entertainment, we'd know how to spell arctic, and we would truly be leet.

I don't even have a "main". I didn't understand what people meant when I first started playing and people would say "this is my main". With all the great choices for power combinations and costumes, I can't imagine sticking with just one, or even primarily one, character from 1-50. I'm all over the map. I have characters from level 5-50 and everywhere in between, so I've always got a character to suit whatever mood I'm in.
[/ QUOTE ]
Exactly the same here. And since I exemplar so much (last night: Positron TF), I build my characters to be exemplared. That way I can play the character/AT/power combo I want, and not worry about it.
And I just have to highlight the whole main thing again. The closest thing I even have to a main is my badger. I have... choices.

Yay for posts on what AE is really all about! The few times I've formed up teams and found suitable "real" arcs in our level range, I've had the kind of fun you've described.
It just goes to show you that if you don't let the dirty farmers and powerleveled noobs get in your way, you can still have lots of fun with AE arcs.

I have to admit, I'm a bit confused by his stance as well.
He claims he was just playing by the spirit of the zone and everything he did was allowed by the rules, and "supported" by the developers. Yet, those who chose to farm the zone using Heavies were also doing things allowed by the rules and "supported" by the developers, and also within the spirit of the zone (I'd probably put money down that farmers captured the zone pillboxes more then PvPers, in general), but he reviled them and called them names, trying to drive THEM from the zone using similar, if not identical tactics he complained people used against him.
Am I missing something in that?

Agreed. If you Google "CoH", you'll find as many (or more) websites for Company of Heroes.
Plus, regarding the topic in general, many of my gamer friends are console-only, and don't know that much about PC games. <shrug>

My only complaint about the ITF is merit farmers who rush through it. But that's a small price to pay.
The best part? Doing it with someone the first time, and after fighting up the Valley of Lag, you come through the small pass and their jaw just drops. "GIANT ROBOT? COUNCIL? WHAT THE BUDDHA?"

I didn't read the whole thread, but I agree that Stamina should be inherent in World Of Heroes (aka CoX2).
