  1. I keep forgetting to try this out when I'm at home in the game. I checked them out when the patch was first released, but I haven't since then. But I remember thinking, "Oh cool, all the sit ones are listed, now I don't have to remember them any more!"

    Probably not, but...maybe.
You realize that a few just took that as a challenge, don't you?

So... Just because the novelty wears off they should be removed?

Frankly, I like the cutscenes. They add an element of storyline to the adventure we would otherwise have missed.

Just because they interfere with grinding out a Task Force or a mission doesn't mean they should be removed.
No, I'm not saying they should be removed. But for those of us that like to run TFs (merits, schmerits), they do get old. If there was a way to skip them, that'd be cool. But until then, all I ask is not to add them to the game willy-nilly.

This. Which is why when I see a team insisting on one of the trinity roles, I figure they've not played much CoH. Some of the most fun I've had in the game was playing on an all-<archetype> team.

To be honest, this is all hypothetical. Farmers and non-farmers are not to mutually exclusive opposing groups. There is a wide range of people with different beliefs between farming extremists and AE puritans.

On top of that, changes you experienced were not "because of farmers". When there is an unbalanced point in a system, farmers tend to gather around it and abuse it as much as they can. This enables the developers to actually see the flaw in their system and fix it.

The developers did not change the Shadowhunter because of farmers. They changed it because they realized it was unbalanced. So they balanced it.

In a way, you should thank farmers for hunting for maximum points in the Risk vs. Reward curve of this game. It helps smooth it out for all of us.
I've just deleted three separate attempts to reply to this post. Instead I'll just report a few more AE "challenges" in your honor.

Edit: You know, to help the devs balance the game.

  14. I play concept heroes as superheroes, so I don't have any fantasy characters.

Although, technically, wouldn't they ALL be fantasy heroes?

Okay. You want a change-free game?

    Here's your solution:

Set up a private server. Find a copy of any version of the CoH software that you are happy with. Set it up on that private server. Enjoy your game. And you don't have to worry about anyone fixing any exploits that would potentially change the way you play the game! It's the perfect plan!
No, you misunderstand. Farmers often say what they're doing isn't hurting me, why don't I leave them alone. Then I remind them of all the changes made to the game =because= of farmers. Changes to the game I had nothing to do with, and now have to live with and work around. Changes like the timed Shadowhunter mission.

Sometimes what you are doing does affect others, even when you think you're alone.

I love the rep comments. I have laughed so hard at the "negative" feedback I've gotten. And, for the record, it's my mom's house, but it's MY basement!

  18. Similar to Dark Respite's story, my friend and I were running around Perez Park, all beefy (so we thought) level 12s or so. I saw a weird creature I'd never seen before and went running up to check it out.

A level 40-something Rikti turned me into an instant grease spot.

Between fits of laughter, my friend managed to squeak out, "If you don't know what it is, maybe you shouldn't run RIGHT UP TO IT!"

About as deep as the layer of dust on my dresser.

I play concept characters. I don't use set IOs, just commons. And I just play to have fun, which is why my /regen scrapper has Stamina.

  20. To the people who say, Stop telling me how to play, I pay my 15 dollars a month; I respond, I'll stop when your tactics no longer force the devs to make changes to the game =I= play, and for which I pay my 15 dollars a month (actually much less, with the year renewal and free months, but you get the idea).

How? I am almost at a loss for words. About the only thing I can say here is to quote Yosemite Sam: "Rassinfrassin....." grumble grumble
It's the random number generator's attempt to keep partners interested in the game. As long as she keeps playing, it's doing its job.

You can still use the keyboard, it's just that many emotes have been moved and require a different keyboard combination to activate.
