I keep hearing about reward level X (insert number) and how it enables certain game features once freedom launches. Anyone have a chart of the reward levels and how much you have to spend for each one etc?
Are they permanent or does it go back down after a while or what?
Thanks for details. -
The latter of the two options is ideal, and using name appending (such as Fire Guy - Champion) should be relatively easy, since missions, trials, etc, are all done within instanced spaces rather than the roaming world part of the game.
The problem is, most of the servers never hit 2 dots, and even though a few servers will benefit from free to play, after it dies down at least half the servers will continue to be ghost towns. If you can provide an LFG interface for grouping across servers, with people still all meeting at the door and then joining together once inside, it would eliminate most of the negatives to this.
Further, you could have cross-realm pocket D's for low pop servers (while letting virtue, freedom, and other high pop servers keep their own Ds).
Heck, you could even have cross realm versions of atlas park and other zones that people could opt to travel to rather than their own server specific.
Free unlimited server transfers for all premium and VIPs (and not just one per month for VIPs) would be the least attractive option, but if you can't do the above or merge low pop servers, this should be done instead. I know you want $$$, but in the long run, if people can't group, feel alone in an mmo, and have no recourse, then you will lose more money in the long run than by implementing some sort of solution. -
This forum is practically dead, the union forums are practically dead, and I've never seen Union with 2 dots since I started up a week ago. It's depressing.
NCsoft, just merge some servers or something please... -
I only ever see a few people in my level range. Literally right now 2 others as I try to level here.
Is everyone 50, or is there a time of day when people actually play here? -
First time I've noticed this is in the mission map for Destroy the Clockwork in Going Rogue.
My framerate is generally solid, but for some reason fog drops it down to a crawl here, and I can't find any graphics options that change it.
If anyone knows what to adjust, let me know. I have a gtx 260 card. -
the 96th month one is going to be a golden gun that kills other players in one shot, even if not in a pvp zone.
Unfortunately it will only be available for one day, then the game closes down. -
If your logic is that an MM plays differently and so the radius should be smaller, then the same goes for Pain and Thermal. It was believed before CoV was released that the ability to heal pets in general was overpowering. No rad, no thermal, and small radius on TG.
But the times have changed, it's just inconsistent now. -
Running in scatters enemies, and they get pushed outside of the range of hurricane or something happens because they don't stay constantly debuffed. Hurricane sadly isn't some magic device for damage mitigation. It works well when you have ranged pets though, to draw enemies to the hurricane. Trying to chase them with it is stupid.
-
I would like to roll a demon/storm, but the thought of demons running into melee completely negates the benefit of hurricane generally, and to a lesser extent freezing rain. Keeping range is also a form of damage mitigation, and ... ugh.
I tried a zombie storm, and the stupid buggers would just run up to things and die before I could heal them, it was a disaster. -
my laptop cost 900 bucks over a year ago.
I don't need apps because it runs CoH on high settings lol. -
same talking points, meme-groupthink, and cliches that can be found here. I don't see the point, there are much better places to find boobs.

If you are /dark it's not your job to heal teammates. The radius on that thing is just too small. Unnerf it and then we'll talk.
For that reason alone I wouldn't touch dark for MMs with a ten foot pole. -
Why do the other sets keep the same radius as other ATs for their heals, but dark's changes?
It wasn't overpowered when non-MMs used it was it? If it is, then you better change those AT's TG radii as well.
There doesn't seem to be much of a tradeoff, just one straight up nerf. It's not as powerful as the other AT versions either, so that's not an excuse.
It's a good set yes, but it's a good set for a corruptor too despite what people may seem to think about it. It's not any more devastating in the hands of an MM (not any more than any other set is anyhow).
Keep in mind at one point there was no thermal nor pain for MMs and there is still no radiation. The reason is simple, the devs feared the ability to heal your pets. Well obviously that philosophy has changed, I'd like to see the radius unnerfed and even see rad brought to mm secondaries. -
lol I assume the april 31st thing was intentional.
If demon summoning is ready, they should push it out ahead of i17 if it's going to come in the second half of april, just my opinion. -
I wonder how much time and resources went into creating the MA. I imagine it was probably one of the biggest undertakings in the history of CoX.
Now it sits there, all but abandoned. Many servers are ghost towns, at least for characters trying to level via teaming.
When I last played, MA was used to powerlevel. The same way that regular missions have been used to powerlevel since the game's beta. But for some reason it's different when everyone can do it.
I could do without powerleveling, but one of this game's crucial features (for me) has always been team play. As I sit here on sunday evening, with lots of people sitting around the black market, unable to find a team to save my life, I wonder if wasting time and money on MA only to gut it and drive your subscribers away is really the best strategy. -
Quote:I discourage fleeing battle as a basis for getting a power. That behavior is pretty much why pvp got got mangled by the devs. If you can't beat someone, then just die. If you are on a team, then hibernate is as good really.IMHO focus on Recharge, try and get Heat Loss back as soon as possible.
Start a fight with Snow Storm, smack the target with Infrig + Benumb + Heat Loss, and run like hell so your teammates can finish them off before their teammates shred you. /cold's survivability is terrible, but the debuffs hit just about every debuff category and stack crazy amounts of -recharge and -speed.
I'd drop Leadership for Concealment to get Phase Shift. Hibernate's all well and good but it doesn't actually get you out of a bad situation - it locks you into a bad situation. Fine for dueling, but if it's 2v1 you want Phase Shift + Invis to get away, or you'll just get ganked when you come out of the ice block. -
In my experience, those that try to be good at healing and dps are good at neither.
Further, while it would be great if people could reliably play that way, it's actually quite a rarity to find a truly competent healer. That's because healing isn't as easy as things that aren't as NOTICEABLY critical. Sure it's critical that you output the most dps you can, but no one can judge you based on that. But if you have someone with heals present and people keep dying, guess who gets the blame.
It's a tough gig, with few willing to fill it, and even fewer able to do so well. Even at low levels, I am constantly INTENSE teams where we are seriously hanging on for dear life at every pull. I have been the healer on some of these teams. Had I even attempted to blast something in between the single target and ae heal, my heal/second would have been reduced, because due to lag, finding a target, moving, etc. Even if the activation time fits in between two heals, you just don't have the leeway you need.
Now if you are in a more relaxed group where people aren't constantly getting their heads 3/4 bit off by a giant cobra, it's a different story. But even then, not everyone is as 1337 as some of you think you are, and if they want to focus on healing because that's what they can handle, then let them.
From level 2 to 50 it's the same deal too. Villains can pretend they are able to get away from the holy trinity but they can't. You either have a gamebreaker team (team of VEATS , bubblers, etc), a team where several people have a decent aoe heal, or you have a decent healer, or you die. -
But how do you change your forum handle under this new board?
-
omg I don't have to? I thought I did. Thank you captain obvious.
This certainly does suck. The crab gets a few really cool powers you can't get with the bane, yet unlike the bane you can't avoid aesthetic annoyances in order to use them.
crab legs are stupid looking. -
Does that count secondaries or just powers from the primary?
-
uh, cause if you don't take any powers where you use the mace, you don't have to carry it around? It makes sense that if you don't take any powers that USE the crab pack, that it would not be necessary to wear it.
-
Is this even possible? I mostly like the spiderlings. Does the pack only appear when you take pack-required powers like channelgun or does choosing crab make it appear no matter what?
If the former, what powers from the crab line can be taken without the pack appearing? Powers I'm interested in are aim and omega maneuver, crab spider armor, and fortification.
Thanks. -
honestly FS is unbalanced already, just cause it requires a team is the only reason they haven't nerfed it. Is that a valid way to determine whether to nerf something? I'll leave that to others to decide I guess.
I'm personally tired of relying on other people. I'm going to need thugs/kin in order to solo 8 man missions in the future
