    dm/sr build help

Some kind person posted this, not sure who. Think must have been a scrapper, cause they didn't have GLOOM.
I stole and modified it. (thanks whoever you are)

Notice the enhancement levels. You can malefactor down quite a bit and still have decent positional defense!
If that's not important to you, then I'd suggest 5x crushing impact for the ST attacks. to get more recharge. Numbers would work out if all enhancements at lvl 50.
Whatever you do, DO keep the damage procs (perfect zinger)! They go off a LOT.

I don't have ALL the Hami-O's or LotG 7.5% recharges yet, but all positions over are over 45% defense.
Even soloed a couple AV's with it, even though it's not optimal for that with the lower lvl enhancements.
If you don't want to ever malefactor down, or solo AV's, then you can save some inf with bit of frankenslotting and substitution here and there.

    dm/sr build help

You have Hurdle as your last power pick. You can't actually build the toon like that in the game. I'd plan it out again, but set it to Level-Up mode instead of Dynamic.
    (next to the Name box)

Do you really need swift AND hurdle from the fitness pool?

Gloom from Soul Mastery (Ghost Widow) is very good Ranged ST DoT.
It fits well with DMele (or any brute actually).
With some careful planning you can fit that in too.

    Just some ideas for you.

    -Morty
  4. I'm not so sure this idea will work oh Capraific One.
As soon as you deliver stacks of your 'free inf' guide to Atlas they will be carted away and sold to your target audience for 10M inf each.
(With a complimentary copy of 'Teenage Catgirls in Heat', they'll go like hotcakes.)

Seriously though, most fast & easy ideas are spread out in various guides,
so PLEASE assume your audience has A.D.D. and just chugged two liters of cola.
(oooh did he say PICTURES? everyone likes PICTURES! You just might pull it off.)
Looking forward to sending the link to my TL;DR friends.

    Morty's objective input:
(tl;dr version: Tie basic marketing principles to Instant Gratification)

Fast & easy RESULTS are what got me thinking for myself, moving on to higher price/risk items, with a Valuable Lesson. Get me?

That stack of ten inspirations? Worth more on the market, or selling to a vendor?
How HIGH can I sell? How LOW can I buy?
This was a REVELATION for me way back when.
There was no risk, but I came away with a first tier 'Market Awareness' inspiration.

That taste of Instant Gratification got me interested in reading this forum (and the guides) and LEARNING, instead of raging that I can't purple out my Warshade.

Just my 2 bales of hay.

This really belongs on the tech help thread, but I understand the pain of 'market lag'.
2gb RAM is a BIG help. (I started in EU beta with 256KB. Imagine that.)
Freeing up the available ram you DO have before you start the game is also a big help.
Rebooting your PC is an option, but there are faster ways.

Before booting up CoX, close all unnecessary background programs. (also those things in your task tray down to the right --> by the clock)
If you are VERY low on RAM, try turning off any unnecessary services.
http://www.blackviper.com is very helpful with killing bloat.

Next step is a little program to force as much to your swap file as possible, freeing up real RAM for the game.
    Here is a good example:
    http://analogx.com/contents/download...m/Freeware.htm

After a session of using umpteen different programs for this n that, I shut them all down and run MaxMEM 2 or 3 times.
With 2GB ram I wind up with 85% free (YMMV). The game loves all that free ram.
It is MUCH faster than rebooting your PC. Hope that helps

I've probably spent a year of accumulative game time setting up teams just because of this.

  8. The Luddites Against Anti Farmers wish to inform you that all agents have been assigned elsewhere.
Also, we are no longer handing out complimentary crop circles, nor helping with binary equations.

They will come to your assistance in Paragon, or the Isles.

Yes, my brothers and sisters, Positron has spoken!

  14. Serious players understand the devs clamping down
on unfair advantages that some players
    find playing
    this multiplayer game.

There is a greater problem at hand though.
    Some players are quoting this...

    There is now L.A.A.F. !

Yes, the Luddites Against Anti Farmers agents know where you are!
They will be contacting you shortly to punish you severely for the thought-crimes you have committed against your fellow gamers.

    Beware!
Serious gamers everywhere are sending LAAFs your way.

    -Morty
  15. They didn't mean for it to work that way, but it does.
Look at the problem they are having with pet recharge.

Choking Cloud does a hit check, so accuracy in a multiple element IO will work in it, even though accuracy can't be directly slotted.

This happens with a lot of powers.
  16. Hmm Defenders don't get defense based armor from Patron Pools.

Ok, I'm in the same boat as Donna up there^ I'm horribly stuck on the last 3 powers or so.

44.6% ranged defense.. sounds good enough.
    Solo against an AV though,
    I'm thinking major endurance problems.

This is what I've come up with so far...

    Anyone have a better idea?
Might have to start a new thread.. this is quickly turning into Teh Great Rad/Sonic derailment.

    -Morty
  17. Rad/Sonic build capped for Ranged Defense?
That sounds like illegal amounts of fun!

Thinking Hover, Maneuvers, and a defense-based PPool armor?

    Plus... OHH the IO goodness!
Can well imagine, with all the slotting options in that combo, you could neuter pretty much anything.

I'm looking at Mid's, but alternate ideas are always useful.
Does anyone have, or can link to, such a build?
I'll post one if I come up with anything interesting.

    -Morty
  18. Looks like a solid build.
Power Sink is a smart choice with all those toggles.

A note on Radiation Infection (RI):
Irradiate has a huge -Defense debuff.
    I'd slot 2xEndRedux 3xToHitDebuff in RI.
This is my opinion, depending on your playstyle you might want the -defense in RI

I'm surprised you didn't take Charged Armor.
It seems you'll be playing more from range?
    But then why Thunder Strike?

    -2 cents from Morty
  19. I can very much recommend this guide:
    http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showf...Number=8840181

Use and abuse. There are SO many ways to build rad/rad.
I used a build close to the above solo AND in teams.
Whatever is good for you is good for your teammates (IMHO).

    -Morty
  20. I can see Aid Self coming in very handy on a long fight like that.
On the other hand, tough & weave give you a lot of friendly IO bonuses to play with.
Even the (relatively) cheap stun sets.

Hard choice. With Super Reflexes or Shield I'd go for Aid Self in a flash.

Thanks for the build idea there ToyRobotTerror.
I'm interested why you chose Scorch over FireSword.
Can't imagine it's for endurance reasons.
With no Focused Acc, can't imagine Endo being much of a problem.

    -Morty
  21. Thanks Vernichterhelge, I DO see what you're doing there.
All that DAMAGE! But hmm, not much in way of survivability.

Mael, Really like where you're going with that one!
Think I could swap soome recharge for accuracy, unless slowed you don't need much recharge for:
    GFS - Incinerate - Cremate - FireSword - repeat
Especially with the beloved Hasten in there.
So, maybe swap the Crushing Impact triple for an Acc/Dam.
60%+ recharge is plenty, and green Acc numbers plus the IO bonus should be fine.

and yah, I like to have the acc numbers hovering in the orange (twitch twitch)

Between the 2 VERY nice builds here I have some new ideas.
Thanks guys! Anyone else wanna give it a shot?

  22. Oh great, NOW this thread is going strong, on Focused Accuracy. ha.

Oh well, Have the infamous NEKO here, so I'm happy

And yah, FA is 5%ToHit (about 8% 3-slotted)

    Leadership:Tactics is 7%ToHit (about 10% 3-slotted)
Tactics uses about half the endurance

Can't bear to give up my Hasten for Tactics though.
    Want that FireSwordCircle up asap!

  23. Here's the build I've been playing around with.
Not got anywhere NEAR the defense, was going for +HP & regen more.

He does good farming, but definitely not up to taking an AV solo

  24. Thanks for the build idea there Nightmarer!

wow, look at those defense numbers!
If I could keep a few minions around to feed RttC it just might work!
No hasten, ouch, but then again, activating it is one less attack and time for them to pull out their heavy hitters.

I believe with that slotting, could do:
    GFS - Incinerate - Cremate - FireSword - repeat
I'll run it through mids and see.
Suppose a purple or 2 would do the trick for really tough fights.

Several of the well-known AV hunters on the US scrapper board have said Fire/WP should be capable.
I'm surprised there's so little in way of builds, even if just ideas.

Thanks again for yours... off to Mids' I go.

  25. Well then, another 50.
Fire/Willpower Scrapper. He is tons of fun, but I still have no idea what to do with him.

I've seen several builds with one or the other, but nothing VERY good with both.

Has anyone done AV's solo with Fire/WP?
    Pylon times?
    RWZ challenge?

Would be very interested in build ideas.
ATM, have MakosBite/CrushingImpact x3 in mele for the +HP / Regen. Not much else really. Mostly frankenslotted.

Have been keeping my eye open here and on the US scrapper forum for ideas, but not seen anything REALLLY good yet from this combo.
