    THOUGHTS?
I first read it quick and thought you were talking about giving 4 incarnate threads for a +4/x1 mission after 10 +0/x1 missions, and I was about to say that if you're giving me the option to get 4 threads by simply doing that, I'll never touch an Incarnate trial.

Now that I see what you're actually proposing... I doubt anyone would do an Incarnate trial past the novelty of the first two weeks.

I would like it, of course, in the same way that I enjoy playing horribly unbalanced characters. Let's be realistic though, I doubt the devs are willing to give better solo rewards for an easier task than the teaming equivalent after they dedicated a whole issue to group/raid content.

That's how I see it. And that's how it is, if people would take a second and actually play the content.
That's strange. Most if not all betatesters, including those who love the I20 trial seem to disagree with you, seeing as they report failing the trial. Doesn't seem so unstoppable to me.
  3. If you're going to drop a page-long post about your love for KM, the least you could do is read the two sentences post you're calling nonsense. What I said is there is no particular synergy between KM and SD.

Not even going to bother adressing the rest of your post, when people get emotional about a set facts don't matter.
  4. Kin def - tough to beat SB/FS.

NW - team buffs are good.
  5. Kin Melee relies heavily on Power Siphon to get an almost constant high damage buff, so gets a proportionally smaller damage buff from AAO than a primary like say, Fire, which only has BU. Having to build up to your optimal damage also means you can't just open with SC like many others would.

It's not so much drawbacks as it is lack of particular synergy. KM/SD would be great, because anything with SD is always great.
  6. Great to see they're really working hard to make that transition go as bad as possible.

Seems to me it would have made more sense to display it once, maybe right after the game is loaded, rather than at every login, but what do I know. I care about usability when interfaces are concerned, so I'm probably like a Praetorian version of the average NCSoft employee.
  7. In a game that is so alt friendly, it's very cumbersome ; not to mention laggy for me. Why was this change necessary?

Very disappointed with the QoL in CoH lately. First the terrible new team window on I20 sneak peek, then the news that the NCSoft Launcher will be mandatory, and now this. It all seems to be more about *decreasing* quality of life than improving it.
  8. I agree with the OP ; nothing else to add.
  9. @Diggis - the damage of the blue patch seems to go up and down as the fight progresses, at least in my experience. During the early part it only hits for about 100 (50+50 unresistable) per tick and many melee ATs can easily stand there and keep throwing punches. At some point it goes up to 400 damage per tick and it's much harder to stand still.
  10. I can't see skipping FE making sense, ever. More likely you'd end up doing more damage by dropping one of your attacks (unless you've got only 2-3 attacks, but I don't see much sense in that either since inherent fitness).

Well, DPS only matters in those lengthy fights anyway
Can't agree with that. I certainly notice when I kill a boss in 10 seconds rather than 15, and it's certainly a big speed boost overall considering everyone kills bazillions of bosses in their superpowered career.

Can't understand why would someone who believe DPS only matters in lengthy fights would ever build for it, considering the vast majority of the game is fast and quick fights, but hey, YMMV and all that.
  12. If it was indeed a 100% chance for a 5% damage buff, I'd agree ; but it's a 5% chance for a 100% damage buff. That means it goes off on average once every ~2 minutes of nonstop attacking, and for you to get the most out of it you have to keep attacking right after it goes off, and not have more than 100% additional damage buff (BF + Assault putting you at around ~300% already) on you.
  13. I don't care too much about the arc ID, but I'd be certainly interested in seeing your stats. Going to run my own tests anyway, because I prefer to see how stuff applies to me personally; still, it's always good to see how other people do.
  14. Gaussian proc isn't worth it, a normal damage proc will provide a bigger damage increase.

    Edit: Wernerblocked.
  15. I wasn't serious about asking for a video, but while we're on that topic, gave that other farm a second attempt.

Time from first hit to glowie click : 3:17
    Influence at start : 128,854k
    Influence at end : 138,513k
    => 2.941M influence per minute.

As for how to record a video, I use Fraps, encode with VirtualDub and upload to vimeo.com (just tried for the first time today, it seems to work fast and nice so far).

Back on topic, I assume you're talking about ~5000 tickets ultrawatt? Do you convert to level 30-34 bronze rolls, craft and sell? I guess I just never took a look at AE for making money, I always just trade the ~1600 tickets per mission for 3 piece of rare salvage, list these for 3m whenever I stop or my salvage tray is full and call it a day. That's obviously pretty low return compared to what you get (200m average for you, compared to ~8m from kills + ~9m from salvage on a ~5 minute mission including loading times, ending up being only ~50m in the same amount of time for me).
  16. I only care about first hit to glowie click, otherwise might as well include loading times and make this more about computers than builds. Number of enemies killed / left is completely irrelevant as long as you include the influence totals, which I did.

It's not a very good run, there are several mistakes, partly due to the low FPS while recording, partly due to not being familiar with the map, partly due to inattention / low player skill.
  17. Gave that farm a go while recording - SS/Fire/Mu, +4/x8, coming with a tray full of red insps, cheaper build than the one ultrawatt posted.

Time from first hit to glowie click was 3:33, influence at start 119,325k, at end 128,840k, giving me 2.68M inf per minute. Video link. Should be up in half a hour from the moment I posted this, according to that website.
  18. I put mine into Frostworks. Saves me a slot and forces me to remember to buff my teammates.
  19. Then there's builds who can't even reach the optimal recharge. On my DB/Inv, I'm getting on paper 214 pylon DPS with BF>AV Musculature and only 219 pylon DPS with BF>AS>SS>AS on a maximum recharge, no defense at all build.

That said, BF>AS>SS>AS is better than the numbers show compared to BF>AV in team gameplay as it benefits from external recharge buffs, doesn't require a combo to go off and outside of AVs, the gaps tend to be filled by the time taken to jump from mob to mob.

I farm about 15 minutes a day (full arc counting load times etc.) and within that amount of time i make can make up to 600-500mil on a good day (average is about 200).
Also, i for one am getting sick of this video or it didnt happen ********.
Average 200mill in 15 minutes? I find that impressive, more impressive than any amount of time spent clearing an ambush farm on whatever combo actually. It'd probably take me that long to just trade the tickets in, delete the crap recipes, buy salvage for the good ones and put them up on the market, let alone actually run an AE mission.

    Video or it didn't... Hmm.
  21. Even on Brutes, Claws is about middle of the pack for DPS before resistances are considered. SS, Stone, Fire, DM will all do better given similar effort.

The good thing about Claws is that it peaks early, you don't need much recharge to get going.

    Regen questions

I haven't looked at it but I'm going to put my money on you using Mids numbers for Fire Blast (incorrect, 200% of the real damage, as often on epic powers for some reason) as well.
  23. A fairly good list of what is different between CoH and other MMOs, but I wouldn't want to drop down all that at once on someone, especially all the specifics. Too much information can make the really important information harder to find, and on a more personal level making a huge list of pros can make it look like you're a fanboy to some (which would cast doubt on the value of your advice).

Personally I'd go with : you can fly or move really fast, your character will have unique looks, combat is fast and flashy, you can fight groups of enemies by yourself and come out on top, and while you can solo or team your way through the whole game just fine with any build, the game mechanics are relatively deep if that's your thing ; on the other hand, missions can get repetitive and PVP is pretty much a joke.

Edit: and I now realise that the actual topic is completely different from the topic title. Sneaky OP.
  24. I'm not really proud of anything I do or don't do in a video game.

Now Mr ?'s avatar - that is something to be proud of.

    Soloing Dr.Kahn

I saw him threw a rock when I did that on my plant controller, but maybe I wasn't far enough ; either way, all he did was throw that rock, and it wasn't very threatening. I could sit there for minutes, and that controller wasn't even softcapped (although close to it).

Doesn't Reichsman phase if you don't have the temp power from a MM or Blaster I think it is? I bet a MM would be able to take him down.
The Khan one never phases (and I think it's defenders who get the temp in Barracuda).
