Since the patch, inspiration and buff icons under my health/endurance bar show dim lighted, like if they were right about to expire, at all times.
Anyone else running into the same issue? -
Farming strangers for free seems like doing the playerbase as a whole a disservice to me. You're potentially letting a new player skip through the game, and enough people doing free farms make it a standard, leading more players to forgo the normal game for farming as well as feeling entitled to other players providing them a service. It also leads to the question, why would you do any work yourself if you can just doorsit and get the same rewards as the guy who's doing it all?
It doesn't make sense either from the farmer point of view. Less inf/prestige, less tickets (in AE) or less drops (in normal farms). To those who would argue you can still cap tickets with multiple people, I would say yes of course, but it'll take more kills and be slower, and the whole point of farming is speed, otherwise you may as well play the game normally and enjoy more varied environments and foes.
Asking for inf puts a barrier on who gets in and who doesn't, gives added incentive for the farmer to PL other people, sets a price so that everyone knows what they're getting.
If you ask me, too many folks look at money as taboo / evil / dirty and have a kneejerk reaction to anything involving a currency, even in a virtual world where absolutely anyone can obtain that currency with some effort or time, and that currency doesn't have a shared use on important stuff like food, housing or health.
Paying for a farm by giving influence or by being chatty isn't much different at its core, in either case you're bringing some value to the farmer. The difference is that the second one is immaterial and can lead to resentment if one of the parties feel they didn't get what they deserved. -
Mecha, that's a nice list/walkthrough.
For me, it confirms my opinion that most level 50 tips are slow, as I can now see I actually did all of them. Obviously subjective and all. -

If you say it's dumb, you're doing it wrong. -
Your first and second point fit my experience.
So far, I have not had connection issues with my second account or using /maxinactivefps with a value lower than 4 (1). Whether this is because it doesn't happen to me, or that it didn't happen *yet*, I don't know. -
I use "/maxinactivefps 1" in both instances myself. I've had the "no response" issue on computers that struggled a bit to get the job done, performance wise. I would tend to think that this specific crash issue is different and related to something else (but I could be wrong, of course).

Personally, if I need the regen/recovery I'm going to be in melee range with an enemy at least once every two minutes (most likely, much more often than that) so that particular thing isn't a concern to me.

Something I used to like to do when I wanted to buy IOs and make a profit at the same time is to bid on stacks of 10 regardless of the actual number of this specific IO I needed. As a result I often got multiples and could craft and resell the extras for a profit.

Hey,
Started to play two accounts on the same computer again yesterday and I got crashes on the second account and only the second account. I didn't time it exactly but two hours seem close to the rate at which it was happening. I'm on WinXP, so I don't know if switching OSes would help you much. -

Quote:You make a good point, the first good point to defend Keyes' gameplay that I've seen. The verticality is much better used than in the rest of the game and that's definitely a significant step forward.
Positioning in this trial requires more awareness than most of the game, especially given the unique utilization of vertical space. It may be situational, but this trial is a situation in which that awareness is important. -
The only feedback I can give about Keyes is that I can't give feedback about Keyes - nobody runs it when I'm on.
I still think it's poorly designed and will feel that way until we get another trial where heals and regeneration are disabled and damage is autohit, and another trial where heals and regeneration are disabled and damage is unresistable... No, wait, that'd just make two more poorly designed trials.
It's just a way to indirectly nerf damage mitigation without having to deal with the outcry that would result. It evens the gap between Joe Casual and Jim Minmaxer. It's a consolified version of the gameplay, except it's still on PC, so we get to enjoy watered down complexity* while still retaining all the bugs and crashes that make computers such a fantastic platform to game on. Yay.
*not that this game is that deep to start with. Obligatory comment for the obligatory people who will disagree with my argument and choose to read every statement as an absolute rather than a relative like it is. -
If you like using different powers, skipping Hasten can make sense on a Claws/SR as your secondary gets close to no benefit from +recharge and Claws attacks on scrappers recharge quick to start with.

Hmm, weird. Maybe I just had some terrible luck and got all the worst tips then. I can't remember a single level 50 tip villain side where I just had to kill a boss or pick a glowie, and the only one I can think of hero side was rescuing Polar Shift in a cave with CoTs or Longbows.
What I do remember is having to wait for endless Miss Thytles "ambushing" me from the other side of the gigantic map (and of course each has unstoppable because S/L damage is for suckers, and of course the next ambushes only trigger once the body actually dissapears), some council cave map with glowies all over the place (and always in port oakes, bleh), chasing Maelstorm around in a council cave, having to kill Flambeaux, pick glowies, destroy crates and kill an ambush in a warehouse map, etc.. It could be that the slow ones leave a lasting impression while I forget the fast ones. -
... and I assume, so are the other +regen or +recovery procs.
Posting this mainly because I did a search on the forum and on Google on this very topic just a few hours ago before choosing if I was going to put the proc (and slots) in Fast Healing or Rise to the Challenge (I wanted the 6-slot set bonus) and couldn't find any answer, so went with RttC as I thought it'd have slightly higher heal % and better end reduction that way.
Against level 1 hellions, it makes for some ridiculous end recovery as you get almost as much from the proc alone as your base recovery. Against level 54 riktis, it gives less than half as it's supposed to. Seeing as a level 50 character is more likely to fight level 54 riktis than level 1 hellions, the right choice seems to not slot regen or recovery procs in RttC. -
Some good points from Exxar and Deacon. I guess you can always optimize something further.
I would think that even with the time spent gathering tips against relatively higher foes (on a lower level alt), it would be faster to level lock in the twenties and run tips that way provided the character you'd be using would have sufficient AoE power, as tips in the twenties just seem so much easier/faster, often with a single objective. I've never actually pursued tip farming so I may just be missing some knowledge, like what tips to drop and what tips to do, but I find level 50 tips often have tons of linked objectives that are annoying as hell to get done fast. -
Level 25 or 30 is a nice time to switch to common IOs. You can buy most of these for about 100k a piece if you're willing to wait for about a day, which is a reasonable price in my opinion as you'd spend more than that upgrading every five levels for SOs.
When I level a new character without powerleveling, I tend to hop by the market during the teens and drop bids on level 25 IOs so I know it'll all be ready and waiting for me when I hit level 22. -
I don't think you can build a character that can't sneak past -1/x1 foes.
Would second Silas' advice - play something you like. Super Speed and some kind of fast vertical movement is IMHO more helpful to the task than your actual archetype. -
Cute lego guy.
Can't help but feel anyone who spends time hunting for a serious business pic to post in an ironic manner is indeed taking matters too seriously himself though. -
Hell no to the whole thread. CP alone is better than PP and Superior Conditioning together.
Trading CP for Superior Conditioning would be like trading Dull Pain for Fast Healing on a regen. You might be willing to take a huge performance hit for the convenience of having something passive, but not everyone feels the same. NO to completely unwarranted nerfs! -
It'd probably be locked to US and Canada only and that'd piss me off.
-
I haven't said anything about "my knowledge", so the only reasonable assumption is that you think I'm refering to forum marketing advice in the quoted sentence, which would be quite stupid since I disagree with much of it, but I guess fitting from you.
No, no, when I say you're impervious to knowledge, I don't mean about the game specifically. I'm talking about life. Everything. -
I find it amazing to see eryq2 hasn't improved at all on any aspect in years. It's like he's impervious to knowledge.

I want Freedom to release before a certain other MMO involving laser swords and mind tricks, so my friends might get hooked again before it's too late.
