Nope. However, built decently, most tankers should be able to solo a few giant monsters with the right Lore pets.

    +4x8 question

Personally, when I say I'm soloing +4/x8 without any additional information, I imply:
    - bosses on, AVs off (I sometimes keep AVs on, but that's not necessarily always true)
    - any, every faction
    - insps allowed (stuff that drops)
    - incarnate powers allowed
    - defeats/slowness allowed, within acceptable limits. Death shouldn't happen outside of a few missions/enemies that play to my achilles' heel on that particular character, and when it does, no more than 2 or 3 times in a single mission. Likewise, if I consistently take about two minutes or even more to kill a single spawn, I'll lower the reputation.

Which is basically normal playing for me, hence the lack of qualifiers. I do understand, and share, your perplexity concerning this sort of statement though. Reading the boards you'd sometimes believe people are steamrolling, solo, +4/x8 PPD on characters with 45% S/L def, no DDR, no hard controls and no insps.
  3. I love the wolf pet and would have bought it even at 800 points but since TW still isn't in the store despite being ready since a good week or two now, I'm going to be petty and not buy the wolf.

    Suck it, marketing.

Could you elaborate on that? I seem to remember I always got a temp when picking up a crate.

    KB bug

Testing my PB was my first thought, unfortunately Solar Flare still KBs way too far for my liking, throwing stuff from melee range to out of bounds...

    Sig arc part #3

15 minutes, gotcha. Well, AFK it is then.

Truly amazing how many things they broke with that patch.

Edit: went afk for a hour and the arrow is still there, so it might be random.

from what ive gathered this bug is only affecting villain bases
AH! I just spent 30-40 minutes getting stuff into my hero base for nothing.

    Thanks for mentioning this.
  8. Pfft. I bought all the hype and went to try my Peacebringer. Solar Flare still knockbacks things a good 5-10 feet away. :|

Edit: and my base defense items won't attack me. Come ooooooon. Am I the only one who misses all the cool bugs?
  9. Don't attack Antimatter until the very end.

    Defeat some robots.

    Pick up temps.
Once you got temps, move up and defeat robots guarding computers.
    Use temps on computers.

Defeat war walkers to get temps.
Once you got temps, move up and defeat robots guarding computers.
Use temps on computers. If Antimatter is here already, he also needs to be near the computer to use temps.

Go in bunkers to grab temps.
Once you got temps, move up and defeat robots guarding computers.
Use temps on computers. If Antimatter is here already, he also needs to be near the computer to use temps.

    Attack Antimatter.
If he disintegrates you, heal up.
If there's a big flashing green sign on the ground, move out. Might be a good idea to stay zoomed out incase people fly.
When he stops time, follow him and destroy computers.
    Resume attacking until he dies.

    Pick uncommon.
    Exit.

It's how I understand it and I do fine, but really the ingame clues explain it better (which you can access by clicking the "?" during each phase).
  10. I always thought people who liked Water Spout on meleers as an extra source of ST DPS during AV fights (especially as you can also pick a regular pet in the same epic). Thought about it myself for that purpose, but ultimately never bothered to try it - can't live without CP!
  11. Less KB? BvP? I'm now more excited about the bugs than the actual game.
  12. Spring Attack does as much damage as Footstomp in the tiny radius right around the impact point. In the bigger radius (which isn't as big as Shield Charge ; I'd estimate it at 15 feet, but not sure), it does about the same damage as the weakest AoEs.

That is to say, not much of a mini-nuke. More like mini-AoE, considering the recharge.

Pleeeeease let it be better than Warhammer Online... pretty please
Fat chance. Everyone wants to be a space marine, but nobody wants to be a Space Marine... Somehow, most people don't like being in the shoes of a psycopathic, xenophobic, conditioned killing machine.

In the grim darkness of the current present, there is only franchises ; dumbed down in the name of mass consumption and the almighty dollar. Really, wh40k is a setting best left to strategy games (so you can ignore the massive dump they take on the lore and just play the game).
  14. I like to build the alpha T2 with threads (because you tend to have a lot of extra uncommons for trials, compared to a shard uncommon costing 12 shards) and rest with shards. I figure I get the shards eventually through normal playing, and as they don't have any real use beyond alpha, might as well wait rather than "waste" itrial components (speaking from the perspective of someone who's not big on farming trials).

    Convert a DFBer!

The one-eyed man might be king in the kingdom of the blind, but it's hard to have much respect for someone that stabs his own eye for that very purpose.
  16. Sarrate, I've got to say that's one of the best changes I've ever seen suggested. "Save from death" is such a fun mechanic and it'd fit Regen so well thematically.

... Also likely to be hit by the standard code rant, but damn. That would be great to have.
  17. I would have been happy with a straight port from defenders. Why they decided to butcher the set so badly when porting it to, arguably, one of the ATs that needs the most help is beyond me.
  18. In my opinion, unless you're just going to power through AVs with Lore pets, you're going to want either Cardiac or Ageless if you want your endurance to be sustainable, especially if you use Soul, which for AV soloing purposes I assume is either going to be for Gloom or DN, either of which are very endurance intensive.

I'm not so keen on musculature on a brute (especially a DM one, what with Soul Drain and all) as the damage boost is relatively small considering the high damage level at which you're operating, so I would suggest making the swap on alpha.
  19. I think you'd probably end up with better results in pure regen numbers by using Rebirth so its strongest part is during IH downtime ; but of course you wouldn't get the extra endurance and recharge from Ageless, which might matter to you.
  20. Quote:
Know what the first part of assume is?

Don't be one of those by doing that.
Well, if you steamroll +4/x8 regardless of team size, teammate skill and enemy faction (which we have to assume you just said, otherwise you're just a quotewarrior/troll butchering Celidya's point with semantics), I think you can consider you've beat the game and move on. Good job.

Seriously this set needs help still with either the return of toggle instant healing or something else more.
Still agree with this. Toggle IH would be a great boon to Regen and I can't see it as OP when the rest of secondary still lacks any form of defense or DDR, or meaningful resistance (new Resilience is nice especially when you stack it with Tough, but by itself it's not exactly going to soak much damage compared to your average resistance shield).

The following might enter conspiracy theory territory (but my street cred isn't afraid of anything once I've already agreed with EvilRyu, plus I like the crazy hat), but I'm wondering if regen might be hurt by the amount of PvPers playing this set, as with incarnates they're bound to spend some time in PvE. I mean, in a "datamining could be skewed" way. I think I see more Dark Armor characters than genuine PvE regens these days.
  22. Fire/Cold controller. At the time I underestimated how much survivability a fast recharging AoE immobilize is worth, and it came off a bit as a pleasant surprise to see how easily that alt could take on certain odds that trumped many of my other characters.

Time/Fire defender, although it's still low level and started a mere few days ago, mostly because I still haven't come to terms with how uber time is, also because [Fire Blast]'s animation has been fixed faster than I expected, and fire blast (the powerset this time) is just so fun even on defender damage.
  23. KM/Inv scrapper. I find it to be a medium-low performance character, but I don't care... Too much. Always have other alts to play when I want a powergaming fix, anyway.

In KM, I enjoy the fast, visceral, powerful looking animations. It doesn't hurt that the set is well balanced either, with powers that cover all the bases (ST damage, standard PBAoE, ranged attack, high damage-per-use T9) as well as great power progression - can keep a good attack chain exemplaring as low as level 1.

Invul I'm not so fond of mechanically. I would much rather be Shield, but can't live with the shield GFX and animation changes. However, invul still offers a good aggro aura, decent defense, resistance, tohit, HP, DDR and other misc resists to debuffs as well as minimal FX invasion, so it's a solid pick for me.
  24. ^ Actual bots would have no problem simulating keyboard input. I would guess the purpose was more to curb AFK farming.
  25. Two things make KM arguably better on scrappers than brutes.

    1) Brutes rely on Fury, and have lower base damage as a result. For any attack, a scrapper will do 1.5x as much base damage as a brute. That means brutes get a lower relative boost out of a similar damage buff than a scrapper.

    2) Brutes have lower damage mods. Scrappers will get 1.25x bigger damage buffs. That means each power siphon hit does +25% damage for a brute and +31.25% damage for a scrapper.

For those same reasons, you will also get a lot more out of AaO on a scrapper than a brute. KM/SD is one of these combos that, in my opinion, you really want to play on a scrapper, as all of the usual advantages of playing a brute over a scrapper are either there or nullified (aggro holding => AaO is a strong aura ; survivability => Shield is unlikely to go far beyond 75% S/L res or 2400 HP), and most of the advantages of playing a scrapper over a brute (better damage and damage buff mods) are amplified.
