Storm Crane Storm Crippling
+225% recharge in Storm Kick
(Storm Kick does much higher DPA) -
If your text is so badly written it requires effort to understand, you will get a lower rating from me, it's just not fun.
Regardless, a few grammatical mistakes might be the kind of thing that make me pick 4 stars instead of 5 if I can't choose between 4 or 5. It gives an unpolished feel to the arc. -
(QR)
So tanker attacks should cost less because they do less damage than scrappers.
Yet, nobody is arguing scrapper shields should cost less because they give less protection than tankers.
Tanker bias, anyone ? -
Mine is pretty much shelved indefinitely. I never got into the character, and there's so many interesting stuff to do since I14 it's unlikely I'll get back to him.
-
Heh, thanks.
To be fair, I think any scrapper combo could solo a GM with these temps and insps. It'd probably be easier to use shivans too, but I like going with nukes - having a pet doing more damage than me is rather humiliating ! -

I used temps (boo !) and insps (hiss !), more specifically two warburg nukes and a bunch of tier3 red inspirations. It was fun to do, but dull to watch - the bio nuke that I'm using for its +dam also comes with an hefty regen bonus.

At first, I thought he was just a palette swap of Crimson without Caltrops, but his Elude seems much stronger than the watered down version most AVs get. Despite being pure S/L without any debuffs, martial arts do enough damage to keep me on my toes.

Her broadsword seem to have an exotic component (looks like negative energy, but I didn't check), but doesn't debuff defense, making her rather easy. Web grenade slowed me down - and it took me a long time to realise I'd be better off adding a Power Slice after my usual chain, instead of waiting for SS to recharge.

As he is pure energy, I was able to turn off Tough and Temp invul to save end. I had some lucky streaks with procs and crits, but despite that his end drains forced me to retreat behind corners a couple of times.

I had to kite behind corners to toggle off her Snow Storm ; however, I had to be careful not to kite *too* much or she would regen and toggle frozen armor, and possibly deal much more damage without Invinc's +DEF. Tricky to balance, and a very fun fight. -

I made a post showing that only a small percentage, like about 9%, of the DCed arcs are by really well-known forumgoers, and that there were other big name people who didn't have DCed arcs.
[/ QUOTE ]
Seeing as the well known forumgoers represent much less than 9% of the playerbase, your own numbers indicate well known forumgoers have a higher proportion of DC arcs than the average user...
Of course, this is most likely because well known forumgoers are people who're socializing much more, are more passionate about their work and will promote it more often and in more places, and not because of any "conspiracy". Still, you'll want to be careful with quoting numbers working directly against your point. -
I wish that was true. Not so much with only 50% DDR.
-
If you ask me, both being IOed out, a DM/Shield is much better than a Claws/Invul in every possible way except AoE damage, aggro holding, extreme S/L dealing foes that don't debuff def, and coolness factor.

If large numbers of people deride an idea, maybe it's not a conspiracy on the part of large numbers of people. Maybe the idea is just stupid.
[/ QUOTE ]
Agreed.
However, my personal experience tend to show here it's not really a large number of people but a small number of the very same players posting a lot.
Random anecdotal evidence : I never look at post counts, but looking at it I've noticed all the folks on my ignore list have over one thousand posts, and most of them are well over that.
I've got about... 15-20 people on ignore, yet there's some threads where it's literally filled with ** you are ignoring this poster **.
(Cue in people who interpret this as me saying "people with many posts are all trolls!")
No, I didn't say that, you hypothetical idiot, nor did I claim my personal experience or random anecdotal evidence were facts. It could be just me. It's probably just me. I've noticed in any message board, the users who annoy me most always tend to be the ones with many posts - not because they have many posts, but because seeing someone being stupid in twenty threads daily is much more annoying than someone being stupid in one topic per week. -

I'd play that set, only with Dragon's Tail instead of Typhoon's Edge. -
I don't like that idea at all. It would be a nerf for many of my characters. I tend to play near the edge, and that involves in some situations being close to 0 end.
Endurance management has always seemed fine to me, so I don't even understand why would this be necessary. -
15:35 on my plant/rad.
She only has cheap sets right now and it shows. End usage was terrible while CP was down, LR was up ~75%, 80% of the time, and lacking good enough KB protection, anytime the pylon hit I was on my back. Plant being relatively low damage, the Apoc proc in Entangle should help a lot too. I also need to get these accolades.
I know it's old news to many, but it was interesting for me to see a rad with cheap sets (I estimate I didn't spend more than 40m for the whole build) could solo a pylon without insps, especially on a set like plant which is on the bottom when it comes to ST damage. Looking forward to see what it can do once IOed out. -

Inspirations aren't an unlimited resource. If someone has to eat two purples to take an alpha, they'll run out before the end of the mission when running as point.
If constant purple popping isn't a problem, then neither is doing the same with reds for a Tanker.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't know. By level 40+ you have 20 insps slots, inspirations drop often, you can combine everything into purples. I've been on missions where I was taking the alpha (on a scrapper) all the time and had to pop purples to survive, and I don't remember running out that often. It certainly wouldn't happen at all if I bothered to buy insps, something I hardly do.
In my opinion, 12.5% def is also a lot more than 25% dam. The latter, assuming 95% damage slotting in powers and no procs or other damage buffs for the sake of simplicity, will be a ~12.5% total damage boost. Best case scenario (no damage slotting in powers, no procs, no damage buffs), it's a 25% damage boost. On the other hand, a luck insp can multiply your mitigation by 250% if you're jumping from 32.5 to the softcap.
With insps, it seems much easier to increase defense than damage output, to me. -

I think you got your numbers wrong there, Nihili. The regen rate should be higher if you account for the fact that LR can miss. The regen rate should be:
Reduces regen rate by 127.8125-35.79=92.0225 95% of the time, meaning it reduces regen rate by 87.42 on average. That gives a regen rate of 127.8125-87.42=40.39. So the DPS is:
38343.75 / 335 + 40.39 = 154.85 DPS
I have no idea what resistance you're talking about.
[/ QUOTE ]
Pylons have a ~102hp base regen, the 127 in the formula is because it's multiplied by 1.25 in order to account for the 20% res pylons have.
I did something wrong, I should have divided the regen number, and I multiplied it. 35.79 / 0.95 = 37.67, and not 34.
(38343.75 / 335) + (37.67 * 1.25) = 161.55 DPS -
That would be with EF, yes.
You could switch to RoF - Char - RoF - MB, I'm almost sure it'd be better damage without looking in depth into it (RoF and Char have about the same DPA, MB is much lower, so using RoF more should increase DPS).
I'm guessing you've got thunderstrike in RoF for ranged defense, but it's worth nothing adding an Apoc proc in RoF would improve DPS a lot. -
Getting an approximate DPS value without Lingering Radiation shouldn't be too hard, if you have it perma.
LR lowers the pylon regen rate to 35.79hp/s (just checked it in game).
The maximum tohitchance being 95%, it'll regen on average 34.0005hp/s.
Using the above formula, multiplying by 1.25 for resistances, that would give you :
(38343.75 / 335) + (34.0005 * 1.25) = 156.96 DPS -
I like the set, it's the graphics I don't like.
I could skip CoD and use the suppresscloseFX command, but the minmaxer in me wouldn't feel right doing this. -
I'm all for a No Rewards mode... if it lets us do fun stuff we can't currently, like spawn placement, unlimited ambushes, and so on.
As it is, between doing the exact same thing with or without rewards... I'll pick with rewards, thanks. -
My personal opinion now is you're out of touch with the game, and you seem so proud of having been playing the game in I1 you won't listen to any experience that is different to your own. So I won't try to tell you anything.
I'll suggest, however, that if you want to participate in serious discussions about performance, you should play the game more often and take a look at real numbers, using the ingame attribute monitor, paragonwiki or coh.redtomax - for example, you might see that these "huge" recovery bonuses from purple sets are about 4%, or that Shield and Willpower have no power benefiting from recharge bonuses. -
Kruunch, did you just call BS on people doing something and in the same breath said there's no player skill in this game ?
... Anyway. To post something constructive, purples haven't much to do with survivability. Most of the bonuses are damage, recharge and accuracy, with some HP in a ranged set, some fire/cold res (useless against Rommie), some toxic/psi res in the 6th slot (useless against Rommie and I hardly see anyone 6 slotting a purple set). -
Nihilii likes talking in third person. Not that it is of much importance; according to some antifarmers, Nihilii could be a blind rikti monkey. Please carry on !

But it doesn't "allow for quick leveling." Quick leveling is getting to 50 in 250 hours.
[/ QUOTE ]
I have a hard time believing people take 250 hours to get to 50 (I've certainly never heard of it except on forums). Saying 250 hours is quick leveling...?! Now that is just insane.
What do you do, chat under Atlas' statue, fight on heroic and die three times a mission, farm TFs / PVP at low level ? I'm sorry, but I just can't believe it.
[ QUOTE ]
A level 50 Controller is a lot better (and rarer) than a level 50 Scrapper.
Why do you think that is?
[/ QUOTE ]
There's a lot more level 50 controllers than any other AT on Freedom, Infinity and Triumph everytime I do a search for these ATs at level 50... -
Persuade the devs to increase the description limit and I'd do that.
As it is, seeing as so many people dislike so many different things, warnings for everyone would take all 300 (is it 300?) available characters. -
That's a good point. I didn't see many people complain about lowbies running sewers 1-10, then newspaper and TFs for the rest of their carrier ; yet this is farming, just less efficient farming. Fight freakshow in sewers or council in an office ? Wow, the diversity !
