  1. Eh. Why not.

Still, I wonder why I was able to view my monitor just fine yesterday, and 6 hours later it gets no signal from any of my video cards, sans the 7300?
  2. My monitor can support DVI. I don't have a DVI cord however, so I used VGA adapters.
  3. Okay. I have a new 500W PSU in now.......still getting no display from either card.

    I'm stumped.
  4. I thought as much........will try to convince wife to let me get a new PSU today.
  5. The monitor displays.....when I have the 7300GS installed. It gives no picture when I try the 8500 or 9600 however.

  6. Both the 9600 GT and 8500 are PCI-E
  7. Okay. Been up just about all night trying to figure this out myself, to no avail.

I was on the computer just fine, on my 9600GT. I log out and turn the computer off, just as I normally do.

The baby woke up hungry, and after I fed her and put her back to sleep, I decided to just stay up and play a bit. To my surprise, the monitor does not show an image, even though it was on. The computer started up just fine, as I heard the Windows Vista logo play from the speakers. I don't think too much about it at first, maybe the card came loose or something. Even after several adjustments, the card refuses to display an image.

Thinking the card may be dead (even though I know it isn't), I try to use an old 8500 instead. Same deal. I'm on a 7300 gs now; It's the only card that the PC would detect.

I have a less than ideal PSU that is needed to run the 9600 (I was unable to get a new one at the time, and still am unable) but I had no visible problems until early this morning, when neither card would display.

And that's what I don't understand. I was fine until I tried to turn on the PC this morning. I can understand if it is a PSU problem for the 9600, but that doesn't explain why I can't get anything from the 8500 as well.

(Posting CoH Helper info as well, if that helps any.)

  13. And you can understand why I'm confused as to why some CO guys want this game to choke and die, and completely ignore DCUO. DCUO could surprise them and blow them out of the water.

I want to try DCUO, being a lifelong DC fan myself. I wouldn't wish death upon the competition however, even if I did leave bitter. (Which some people that are going to CO are....they didn't get what they want here, so they feel the game doesn't deserve to compete with CO. A narrow view IMO, but some people cannot be reasoned with.) Heck, I'll play BOTH DCUO and CoX. It just causes me to wonder when CO fans feel that they are the only superhero MMO that deserves to be around.

We will lose some yes. But if we survived the WoW Juggernaut, we can survive anything. For those who left or are leaving bitter, good riddance.

    EDIT: Repeated a sentence.....
  14. Responding to the "too little too late" comment made earlier.......

It's just my opinion, but some people still would have gone to CO, even if we did have everything anyone ever wanted, just for the fact that CO is new.

And I'm not saying that it's how the poster is, but some people are quick to jump onto something new and wish death upon the place where they came from. (From what I see on the CO boards when I read them, they want this game to crash and burn, and see CO as the end all be all of future MMOs. I don't see them comment too much on DCUO.)

Here's the collection of 3.5 DnD manuals that I have (not counting the ones I have as PDF files). This picture came out a little dark for some reason.

I have a question. What is the point of having more than one monitor? Seems to be a common theme here. What do you use it for?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    EVERYTHING.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    That about sums it up!

Like Frost said, it may seem redundant but once it is available to you, you'll definitely find uses for it. I'd run Photoshop and CoX in separate screens simultaneously, or just about anything really. Had a second screen available for a short period that I ran movies in while I worked on other things; kept firefox open behind it while running CoX, etc.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It isn't in the pictures above, but I pulled out another screen to dual view with after seeing some of the sick setups on the internet. I'd use my LCD tv as the primary and my widescreen monitor as the secondary, but my wife got attached to the TV and would flip if I tried to move it into my throne room (What I call the PC room; the computer chair is my throne)

    Slightly Updated Setup

The red dragon "miniature" piece asked to make an appearance.....lol

EDIT: My thanks to perilX for the katana display info.
  22. Okay, fixed them......I feel better now......lol
