When people refer to time travel here, they usually only think about the past. It's nice to see someone talk about a possible future that wasn't destroyed due to a civil war within Arachnos or such.
Maybe 2050 has also:
-Dark Astoria reclaimed (I'd like to see how it is with sunlight and no fog)
-Boomtown rebuilt. (With all the super strength tankers and gravity controllers who could have done it in a day......)
-The Coming Storm came and was successfully driven away
-Nemesis is defeated forever. (None of that "it's one of his plots") -
For what it's worth, I'm on a SATA II 1TB HDD on Win7 and have had no problems.

To reneg on my earlier post:
I haven't canceled my account......I wanted to one day, when for some reason my payment did not go through automatically without me having to do it, which threw off my next veteran reward by a month.
Joking, but that really did happen.
That said: I did decide to go back and play some old console games that I hadn't finished or in some cases, opened. I thought about getting Final Fantasy 13 to help ease the wait for GR, but from what I hear about it.......nah. Star Ocean 2 and 3 should be more than enough to tide me by until GR releases.
Hell, I've been playing Star Ocean 3 since 2004 and only have half of the battle trophies in the game. -
JACK "STATESMAN" EMMERT TO RETURN TO CITY OF HEROES
*shudders at the thought of him having his way with Willpower* -
Quote:A double xp weekend would be a better idea IMO....And I honestly dunno if we'll be getting any info next week either. In addition to the two contests they've begun, the community team is apparently going to hit all the servers (EU included) with those special Rikti attacks. And it all smacks of them trying their best to keep us entertained and to keep our minds off the fact that there's a serious dearth of information, as well as a "dry spell" with regard to live client updates.
The first one in the year has usually been in January......I guess not anymore? -
-
I avoided playing with altitis.
If I start a new character, I work on only that character until he is 50. -
Quote:You know, I'm pretty much the same. I know the AE has a vast amount of content, so there isn't a lack of things to do, but I find myself playing consoles more and more.*I don't break from the forums*
But, I have already been taking a break from the actual game for months and months and months and months... I am tired of taking a break from the best MMO.
But - listen to her but - it's really hard to actually play.
Just wish they would stop disappointing me and actually let us have new news, for me to be excited about for a few weeks... by then the beta should be closer >.<
Hate you marketing *shakes fists*.
I was hoping to hear some news before Final Fantasy XIII releases in March. And that gap is getting smaller. -

If you want the game to be completely invulnerable, stop new games from coming out.
I feel that most gamers of today are fickle, jumping on every new MMO that comes out, and buying every new console game they see. But that is just my opinion.
But I'm here till they turn of the lights. -
And because we wasted our resources on the Rikti, the Coming Storm had little trouble laying waste to Earth.
I'm another who thinks that maybe the Rikti don't come with ill-intentions this time. Really, of all the planets in the universe, why would anyone want to rule this one? -
If you want a real headache in receiving achievements, you should try playing Star Ocean: Till The End Of Time.
Some of the requirements for Battle Trophies in the game are literally insane. I'll give a few examples.
Defeat the final boss of the main game at level 1.
Defeat the final boss of the main game at level 10 on Hard difficulty.
Defeat the final boss of the main game with your weakest weapon.
Defeat the final boss of the postgame on Very Hard who has 60,000,000 hit points in less than an hour. Other related trophies related to some of the superbosses include not getting hit, and defeating them alone.
There are 300 battle trophies in all. I've been playing the game since 2004 and only have 180 of them. Getting all 300 requires playing the game on Hard and Very Hard as well. (But if you've ever played an RPG and wished there was more content after the main game, the Star Ocean games do not disappoint.)
Needless to say, this game isn't for everyone. -
Did everyone in this thread receive an Orange Lantern ring for Christmas?
-
I would like more colors as well. Granted, the list we have is okay, and we can't possibly have a million additional colors.......but what about 100 more? 200?

Quote:How come I never came across this?

I realized that I never truly answered the question.
If PvP worked better, then yes, I would PvP (at least as much as I do in online console games)
I've never truly understood why some won't (in this game at least) until I went into a zone for the first time. I said it before earlier in this thread, and this pertains to ALL games, console or MMO, but from my experiences in a multitude of games, people who hate PvP:
-Are not good at going against other players
("But how will your skill improve if you never face anyone outside of the AI?" is a common argument against this)
-Do not care for the smacktalk
(At least you can ignore or mute morons that do this)
-Don't see any point to it
(Which is true for most games)
It's horribly imbalanced and usually favors a certain type of class. When everyone is that, PvP is boring
(Marvel vs Capcom 2 for example: there are 56 characters, and most advanced players will only pick Sentinel, Storm and Magneto)
And it could be a certain type of PvP. I myself HATE FPS and gun PvP in general. (I'm not good at avoiding headshots, but that isn't the only reason.) But a fighting game? Bring it.
There are people who hate fighting game PvP, but love FPS.
There are people who hate strategy PvP, but love sports games online.
There are people who hate boardgame PvP, but love debates.
And like I said, there are people who just hate PvP in any shape or form.....it does not matter what game, athletic sport, et al. (Usually it's for the above reasons I listed. Then again some people really hate to lose.)
I'm not saying people who don't like PvP are wrong at all. But for me personally? Facing only the computer does get boring after awhile.
EDIT: Some spelling. -
It's my Going Rogue info, and I need it NOW!
Well, that's how JG Wentworth commercials would do it. -
...where's the double xp announcement for this month?
Not that us as players would know, so I guess I'm speculating more than I am asking a question. They've usually been in January, and this'll be the only month where I can plan ahead to take a weekend off, as I'm gonna be completely swamped Feb-April.
Well, not really. But events in that timeframe will make it so that I won't be able to play as much as I want to.
Unless the extra 2xp weekend in October made it so that the first one this year will be later than we are used to? -

Oroborous seems to forget that time travel goes both ways.....how about a zone in a future where the world wasn't destroyed? (Say like the year 3153 or something.)
-
Quote:Well Final Fantasy XIII will be out then, and with me being the big FF nut that I am, if I could give away my beta spot, I would.Beta's supposed to be "early 2010," with expected release Q2 2010. My expectation is that loyalty people should be expecting to get into beta around March, with release around May. That's all estimation though.
That game will ease the wait for GR for me, at least. -
This right here. I had to go dig up some old unfinished console games to help, because the lack of information is driving me insane.
