Quote:Well, most mutants could have vaporized anti-mutant mobs if they really wanted to.......XDWas kinda the social metaphorical point they were trying to make...so yeah.
And with Civil War and all, anyone who had powers or worse a costume got to at last feel what the mutants had been feeling all of those years.
"Magneto Was Right!" -
Mutants wouldn't be hated.
They aren't for the most part (metahumans) in DC, but man......Marvel was very nasty to them. -

Why do I stay?
Because there isn't anything else out there that appeals to me when it comes to MMOs. -
Been waiting for the longest time to tell this one.
I picked up some food from a resturant one afternoon. I decided to eat near my daughter, who hadn't started walking yet. After taking a few bites, I decided to grab a soda from the kitchen. I wasn't gone for very long, but when I returned.......
.....the baby had dumped all of my food onto the floor. She had the now empty plate in her hand, and was waving it in the air while making a grunting sound. My wife never saw her do this, since she was looking at the TV.
How could anyone get mad at that though? It was too funny, and she was having so much fun with the plate. I ate the food after putting it in the microwave.
Another recent instance: When I arrive home one day, I see one of my Batman comics in the middle of the living room floor. Ms. Maam (one of my nicknames for my daughter) had gone into the back room, pulled out that particular comic and bought it into the living room and began "reading" it. I'm still laughing about it even though it happened a few days ago.
Oh, and this last one can't be explained, only seen:

I held off a bit on installing the drivers myself. Finally installed them last night....and wow. I am pleased.
(Well, there was the tiny fact that my aspect ratio was changed, and NVIDIA's control panel keeps telling me that my native resolution is 1920x1080, which causes it to get into an argument with my monitor, who says the native resolution is 1680x1050.....but other than that, no problems at all) -
Meh. I don't see it holding a candle to Blackest Night.

Quote:Trust me, there were a few exceptions, but you didn't miss much.Well this confirms everything I've ever suspected about JRPGs. Good thing I never played them.
My version of explaining JRPGs: The main character has a sword, Sleep spells never work, the lead female is always a healer with a staff, and 16 year old kids are better at combat than even the most battle hardened space-marine.
The End. -
Quote:Well, most characters are the same age in RPGs and do the exact same thing.Dora the Explorer's parents.
"You're what, maybe 12 years old? Going out into the deepest, darkest jungle alone? Sure! Go right ahead. Just take a backpack full of junk and a talking monkey. You'll be fine."
Kids are for some reason far superior when it comes to this. The only adults that can match them are in first person shooters.
I forget where I saw this quote, but it said something like "If there aren't a team of kids around to save the world, call up a space marine". -

Quote:A combination of both.VIDEO GAME-SALES
NPD: September video game sales drop 8 percent
NEW YORK (AP) -- In grim news for video game companies, market researcher NPD Group says U.S. retail sales of game hardware, software and accessories fell 8 percent in September to $1.2 billion.
The NPD Group said Thursday game hardware sales tumbled 19 percent to $383 million, as fewer people bought Wii and PlayStation 3 consoles.
Software sales were also down, even though Microsoft Corp.'s blockbuster "Halo: Reach" sold 3.3 million units.
Game accessories, meanwhile, saw an uptick, boosted by Sony Corp.'s new Move motion controller. -
Oddly enough, it's usually the threads about i19 and i20 news. This problem first reared it's ugly head when the PAX update thread was created. It would not load at all on either Chrome or Firefox. I had to resort to Internet Explorer....ugh.
Rude Tells will not load on Chrome or Firefox either, but IE brings it up just fine. Other than that, most other threads load as normal.
What causes this? -

Quote:Another vote for Seventh Sanctum. I use it for D&D ideas as well at this game. Also try the "Seventh Sanctum" website to generate some cool names based on certain criteria like abilities , weapons used etc .
As for names, if I were to make a tanker, I'd go with Superion.
Too bad I just can't get into tankers. -
Quote:With the current generation of humans populating the planet, we would be doing more harm than good.Awesome news. So, when are we going there? The sooner we get a self sustainable colony of humans out of this solar system, the better. Who knows when we'll get hit by something nasty from space? Let's get humanity out where it belongs: Everywhere!
I guarantee there would be some politician or tycoon out there thinking how he can amass more power and become richer from this.
I really would not rather the rest of the universe get corrupted in the way our current society is. Then again, there may be a species out there that makes us look like saints. Who knows. -
I can see more money being thrown into this project once:
-The people handling the money figure out how to distribute some of it into their particular districts
-The people handling the money figure out how to slip the rest of it into their own pockets. -
Quote:My personal opinion: Drop Scout and replace it with Ranger. Rangers get Two-Weapon fighting fairly early.I call upon some collective wisdom from the boards. My wife and I just joined a new gaming group in our new hometown. The game is, in the words of the GM, "A mix of 3.0 and 3.5." (No, I don't have any more information about what that means. He's also said that we'll be starting with access only to the core books, but we'll be branching out beyond that relatively quickly.
So, I've got some questions. I am thinking I can talk him into slight expansion beyond the basic books in the early levels if absolutely necessary, but I'll try to stick to the main sources.
My concept is this: Zulu Elf. A barbarian wood elf who uses a shield and a one-handed spear as his primary mode of attack. I'm planning to multiclass into a barbarian/scout/wildrunner.
What I'm looking for is a little feat advice. I am hemming and hawing. Do I want to take Two-Weapon Fighting and Improved Shield Bash? Do I want to walk down the line towards Spring Attack, leveraging the monk-like speeds I will attain? Should I focus on Power Attack and some of its ilk? Or do I want to go somewhere else effective?
I'm looking for opinions. Don't worry about prerequisite stats; we haven't started the game and I can shift my numbers around still.
Also, if someone has a line on where I can find an official reference to a one handed spear (an assegai) that does 1d8 points of damage rather than the anemic 1d6 I'm stuck with, I'd appreciate it. -

Quote:Agreed. But I guess Square felt that people wanted graphics more than extra dungeons.Perhaps if they had focused more on gameplay than "oh pretty graphics" they'd have had enough room.
Another reason I hear that DLC dungeons got cut was due to "It would detract too much from the story"
And previous Final Fantasy games didn't have dungeons and content that had nothing to do with the story? -
Quote:Well what do you do when every single one of your wife's friends move away, because they got jobs elsewhere?Definitely my kids. The wife? I suppose but she'll be out with her friends so I would never have to choose.
Yes, really. Every single one of my wife's childhood friends left town due to finding jobs. And since I'm 1,500 miles away from my hometown, I can't introduce any of my childhood female friends. -
Whenever threads like this get posted, I am ashamed to admit that I usually only know about a small handful and their works.

I thought about it several times, but there just isn't anything else out there, current or upcoming, that appeals to me. So here I remain.
I stayed with the game after I got married, but found that I would not be able to stay online for ungodly hours anymore, especially after our daughter was born.
Other than that, the only thing that could permanently pull me away from this game would be a Dungeons and Dragons MMO that features every official campaign setting as an expansion. It is unlikely to ever happen, however. -
Last summer, I had the exact same symptoms happen to me, as well as others. For example, my motherboard stopped detecting anything inserted into my PCI-E slot.
So here's another vote for it being your motherboard. -
Well, I'd say it's because she probably didn't play games when she was younger. Back for us NES starters, two buttons were easy to learn.....and look at how steep the learning curve is for most games. Keyboards, controllers with 10+ buttons, and more.
My wife doesn't play any games, and it's due to her not having played them when she was younger, despite being born at the same time most NES gamers were.
