  1. Exemp is no problem, I'll be exemped anyway one way or another
  2. Totally agree with Jackal here, my Union DM/SR has all his defenses above 50% and can take ANY alpha, but I guess it's hard to accept in some cases.
Wouldn't say SR is beyond regen, but I'd classify now as second best close to regen (even better in some circumstances) and above DA, but hey, that's just my opinion. Inv still the weakest in my opinion although greatly improved now that most holes can be filled to a certain extent.
  3. Mmm, I have no toons in range for 2nd respec on Defiant, but if you need a toon to fill, send me a tell and i'll bring a 50 scrapper (if that doesn't mess up with the team lvl ofc).
  4. [ QUOTE ]
Yes, dark can take an alpha strike fairly good (except if its pure energy) and dark regen gets you back up and running in no-time. But regen lacks any Resistance or Defense at all. On my regen scrapper i almost never take the alpha, as he is likely to faceplant due to nature of an alpha strike: sheer burst damage, one of the few weak points in the /Regen set.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sorry to drift a bit off-topic, can't you take Alpha with Dull Pain and/or Instant Healing?

    2. What is a scrapper's general role in a team?

    [/ QUOTE ]

The Scrappers role in the team is to make the mob's bigger and more dangerous, whilst simultaneously under-performing compared to all other AT's (for team play); hence, the scrapper furfills a vital role of providing a bigger challenge and slowing down xp and inf gain for expereinced players.

Except Spines/Dark scrappers, of course. They are extremely bad at doing this fundamental scrapper task.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So you mean that an 8 ppl team on invincible rep without scrappers may have bosses on mobs while an 8 ppl team with one or two scrappers will have AV's in every single mob?

Ah I forgot your theory that scrappers are brainless.

Don't worry, one day you'll learn how to play one
  6. Nightmarer

    All Scrapper STF

Well, I didn't know you were planning to give it a go today, I was on this morning but working on my Union scrapper dunno whay all this PMing and stuff for then not telling about it.

@Cynic and @Nightmarer, ya both have nice utility tools that I can work with I dont know about Aeon.

    Aeon will bite the dust

    [ QUOTE ]
I can make myself available at any time this weekend. Itll be nice to know anyones available time slots. The sooner the better I think. I rather just do it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I am available any time except late night on Saturday and Sunday.
  8. Nightmarer

    All Scrapper STF

    Here is my build:

Dark Melee: Smite, Shadow Maul, Midnight Grasp, Dark Consumption, Siphon Life
    SR: All 9 powers
Pools: Air Superiority, flight, boxing, tough, weave, swift, health, stamina and focused accuracy

With current set bonuses equipped, defenses are 43% on melee, 48% on ranged and 46% AoE

    If you prefer my Katana/Inv:

Katana: All except Gambler's Cut and Calling the Wolf.
    Invulnerability: All 9 powers
Pools: combat jumping, super jump, boxing, tough, focused accuracy and of course swift, health and stamina.
  9. I am planning a techie style scrapper Broad Sword/Willpower with that tech blade but still undecided on the Dual Blades Secondary, although Inv is the most probable closely followed by DA. I'll definitely go for scimitars on Dual Blades.
  10. Nightmarer

    All Scrapper STF

Mmmm, somehow I feel a tank would probably be weird in an all scrapper STF

Anyway, I'm in any day any time except late night runs. Unfortunately non of my scrappers has any respec available until next freespec or next veteran respec which will be in about 6 months.
  11. If you are running SSTF1, please count me in (if room available, of course) with my DM/SR scrapper who should be in lvl range later today
  12. Nightmarer

    All Scrapper STF

Coolest, let us know when and who has to bring the cookies
  13. I had a TA/Arch defender that was real fun but because we had a SG only with TA/Arch defenders based on the "Men in tights movie", when the team died, I deleted him on the 20ish, then rolled a dark/dark defender (currently D3) and now, THAT is fun. I'd give preference to your D3 defender, Fearsome Stare will keep you giggling for hours
  14. This is the build I came with for my Kat/Inv scrapper. Without FA and all toggles running the end consumption is 0.85/sec, plus a 30% accuracy bonus plus the 6% from the Kismet IO and 31.9% psionic resistance which is the biggest Inv problem usually, downside on this build is that it lacks Hasten, I guess I could try this build as it is or with Hasten instead of Weave and see how it goes:

  15. Dunno about Focused Accuracy, with a full set in an attack, you get pretty good accuracy (much better than the old SO slotting: 1xrchg / 1xacc / 1xendrdx / 3xdmg) plus with the global bonuses (a 23% acc bonus is really good) plus the 5% acc inherent to swords, I'd probably try squeeze a Kismet 6% accuracy and drop Focused Accuracy unless you need the +perc for PvP.
If you are mainly PvE player, worth the try (maybe on test) without Focused Accuracy and get Weave instead or maybe one of the inv passives to put a psi dmg res IO on it, your end bar will surelly thank you for that.
In fact, dropping FA would probably make Conserve power also redundant, so you could go for a non epics build, get Resist Elements and resist Energies and allocat a psi dmg res IO on each, that would free you 6 slots to keep adding bonuses in Temp Inv and/or Tough.
  16. Mmmm, same thing was said when I9 because of the Oil Slick thingy on Hami Raids...

Anyway, I hope TA set gets fixed with the new sets
  17. Actually I was going to roll the sonic/sonic defender, but as I only have 1 villain, I decided to go for a sonic/sonic corruptor and then, as I already have a rad/sonic defender, looked for a change and ended up with a fire/sonic corruptor, not same dmgres base, but with Sonic Dispersion+Charged Armor+Tough I get a good 65% dmgres as per Hero Designer plus mez protection, which seems to be a toon with blaster damage, Inv scrapper resistance plus mez protection

Anyway, to OP, seems that sonic/sonic is a very good soloing toon as per Hero Designer figures.
  18. After reading Maelwys post, I checked Hero Designer and you can make quite a good sonic/sonic offender by not taking any of the ally shields, worth the try, I guess I am rolling up one as soon as servers are up again.

Sonic Dispersion + temp inv gives 70% lethal/smashing dmgres plus mez protection, interesting indeed.
  19. DM/DA no good for PvP? dammit!

Well, at least I also have a Claws/DA

    8 OFFENDERS TEAM

Sorry to stick my nose in this, maybe you could use the dark rez for Alpha? that would give you a few seconds while the mobs are disoriented to cast all your anchors.
Also as Spirit said, Fearsome Stare would do same effect if the dark rez is not ready.
  21. The fastest should be around 6 and a half to 7 hours if all goes well. Usually people consider 8 - 10 hrs split in 2 days for this TF, although usually the 2nd session gets quite shorter or if all goes well, they just decide to finish the TF on 1st session.
Of course there are exceptions of teams who took more than 12 hrs, but that's unusual.
  22. Well, this one was 4 hrs sharp and we didn't even rush, great TF and great team indeed.

Thx Tidgy for arranging this TF

I advise the team my set has 1 yes 1 targeted it could miss AoE heal

I know that feeling, I have two dark defenders.
  24. When a whole room is aggroed, the rest of the team is wipped and you still carry on, have the time to slip a wakie for the empath for him to rez the rest of the team while you keep the aggro and by the time the room is finished you hear the empath saying "he's lucky I kept him alive"
