I don't really play a lot of alts. I have several, but most are level 10 or lower. That said, most of the ones I do have are melee range characters (scrappers, stalkers, brutes, etc). The next character I have in mind will also be in that same vein; just waiting for staff fighting to come out. Dark'Falcon is the only departure from that that I actually play, but every day since his creation I've thought about re-rolling him as a stalker.
Seems to be a common theme across all MMOs I play that my characters are tanks/dps-tanks. -
Clones.... It always comes down to clones.
-
Guilty of that one too. And now there's even up to 3 (on Freedom)
. Also, I just remembered this one from just after GR came out.

The glowies aren't bad, at least you can hear the womwomwomwom from them. Defeat all =

You are most definitely spoiled then.
I can't think of an MMO that I've played that pumps out content that quick. None of the big ones, anyway.

Finally, after 4 and a half years, my main Knight'Hawk hit 50 tonight while running through Mender Silos's TF solo.

Keeping with the superhero theme:
The Phantasm is Andrea Beaumont, Bruce's ex-girlfriend.
Batwoman isn't one, but three different women.
Tim Drake is the Joker
The Red Hood is Jason Todd, the 2nd Robin. -
I'm a little
this whole deal was just spoiled like that, but seeing as all the little hints seemed to be pointing at Statesman, and the fact that Thomas and Martha Wayne are the only characters in comicdom that stay dead, I can't be
.

I know in the new Atlas I've heard sirens going off somewhere but no vehicles that I've seen. It would be cool, IMO, and add more life to the game if we were to see emergency vehicles driving around apparently responding to situations. Maybe even make them random events (ex: have a car chase through SC and you can take part in the chase and subsequent apprehension of the suspects, sort of like how you could in the Spider-man 2 game).

I tried your suggestions Mandu and a couple other things. They seemed to have helped a little, though the game still lags a bit when I first enter a zone. It seems like most of the games I play don't like ATI cards or drivers.
Appreciate the help though. -
Heh...my monitor is also my TV and that's as high as it goes.
But thanks for the suggestions, I'll try them when I get home. As far as performance, should I look into upping the speed on my card, let it handle AA and AF instead of the game and things of that nature, or just leave it at factory settings?

I agree with the OP, and also like a lot of what Captain-Electric had in his list. Two things I've always hoped to see and have mentioned in past costume/art threads were opaque eyes, and large, full-body capes/cloaks.
And to that comment about destructible environments and throwing cars and the like, this game's "younger siblings" are the reason I pray to the MMO gods we never get that here. You so much as sneeze in the other two and everything within a 100 yard radius disintegrates; even if your character isn't "superpowered". -
I've noticed a few graphics issues lately running CoH (in Ultra Mode using a Radeon 6870). Up until recently I'd been away for a few months, but when I came back I noticed the game seems to lag quite a bit; at least when I first enter, but occasionally it can go on throughout my time in-game. This is new as even back on my old laptop I don't think I've ever had any real issues with lag. Until a couple days ago, the drivers in my video card was from maybe around May-ish of this year. I since upgraded to the 11.10 drivers from AMD due to a map loading issue I encountered in the last SSA. That seemed to solve that issue, though I can't be 100% sure that really was the fix or if just restarting the game fixed it. Even after the driver update, I'm still getting that lag issue. It's especially noticeable in newer zones, or revamped zones (like Atlas).
Another problem I noticed was while running a mission in the sewers on a new character, the water in some areas was blue until I got closer to it. Not sure if that's a problem on my end, or a glitch with the game.
I guess what I'm trying to do here, is 1) see if I was the only one encountering these issues, and what others did to get around them, and 2) find out what I can do to get the most out of my video card (since I know I can adjust clock speed, let the card take care of AA instead of the game, etc) while still getting the most I can out of Ultra Mode.
If y'all need any more information let me know.

Quote:Ah. Well was going to suggest it for the OP if it fit his criteria. There was a made for TV Spider-man movie in the late 70's. It was basically a movie length pilot for the live action show.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ama...28TV_series%29
Also, a lot of the episodes where combined into 2-hour movies and released on VHS.
Although, I think this was a made-for-TV movie, and it's animated, you can't watch comic/superhero movies without watching probably the greatest superhero movie of all time: Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. Watched it the other night, and I still get chills when he puts the mask on the first time. -
That reminds me, wasn't there an older Spider-man movie before the Raimi films? I recall walking through Blockbuster when I was a kid and seeing what looked like a live-action Spidey movie from the 70's or 80's.

There's several reasons, but the biggest is that it lets me imagine what my life would be like if I were a superhero. I've said it before in similar threads, Knight'Hawk is me. I also love how there was always more than one way to 50. I've had very few encounters with the CoT, Banished Pantheon, Devouring Earth, and some others. Why? Because I wanted it that way. I instead opted to face more "natural" enemies: Arachnos, Council, Malta, etc. With the "younger siblings", you really don't get that option.
The story in a lot of areas is fantastic. I've gotten chills, I've gotten that "****'s going down" feeling, and I've gotten the "wow.....I just did that" feeling. For example, at the end of the Doppelganger story where your double is on the platform surrounded by the bodies of your evil doubles. Just after the cutscene, I jumped down to the platform....but never made it. The building blew up, got the loading screen, then was walking out the front door. However, as far as Knight'Hawk's backstory is concerned, it was the first time he got whacked in the face with the realization that you can't save everyone every time. It's also why he got a costume re-design.
A character I created just before joining CoH has grown leaps and bounds due to the experiences in this game. Something that might not have happened, or happened as good as it has if I hadn't started playing. I'm trying to decide if I want to go Incarnate when I get to 50. It'll allow me to experience the Praetorian story and allow further growth, however at the same time, Knight'Hawk isn't super-powered, and I'm not sure if the godliness of the Incarnate stuff would be "right" for the character.
Along the lines of the story, I like also how CoH has always been more about the journey to 50, rather than most other MMOs where "all the cool stuff" comes at the higher levels or even at the level cap. And, like others have said, I love how this game isn't all about the "perfect" gear and setup. I'm just slotted with the standard IOs, no purples or anything special, and still do my fair share of ***-kicking.
I may take breaks from time to time due to burnout, but I'm one of those that will be here until they shut the servers off. -
I have to admit I giggled at some parts, though I still wish The Stooges had been left alone by Hollywood's lack of imagination.

Quote:No, it's still expanding. Latest studies show that not only is it expanding, but the rate of expansion is actually accelerating. Some linguists have suggested a hypothetical force called 'Dark Etymology' to account for this phenomenon.
I am worried for the English language however; at least the spoken form, anyway. I (sadly) know people who will say out-loud "Ah I was just kidding, el-oh-el, jay-kay jay-kay." -
I'm sure there's a place for it, but I'm not particularly interested in it. Personally, I would just be worried about things getting as ridiculous as "the middle sibling" of the Hero MMOs. CoX has always been a more serious environment (that's not to say we don't have fun
), and even though there are some goofy things here or there, that's one thing I've always enjoyed. Feels like I'm actually living out the life and story of a superhero. The aforementioned sibling feels more like a bad parody, and I'd just hate to have the same feeling here.
Sorry for the comparison, but that's the only way I felt I could make my point (in which I'm probably alone in feeling the way I do). -
More funny than cool.
Doc, I think you're losing your patient.
I was only doing 5 over....jeez.
Apology accepted....
