Merrily merrily merrily merrily
Life is but a dream -
Just saw this from the Batman facebook. Apologies if someone's posted it before.

I honestly can't say I have any feelings regarding his eventual passing. Partially cause this game is based on comics, so I don't expect him to stay dead. The other part is that I feel I would have more of a reaction had the devs not spoiled it. Instead of "OMG they killed Statesman! What now!?", I feel more like Eeyore: "oh look....Statesman's dead. Exactly like they told us before...."

Quote:Batman: I agree is awesome. Just wish the art was better. Lately it seems like you get good story but bad art, or bad story and good art.Batman (Snyder is awesome... pick this up)
Detective Comics (garbage gore and shock that doesn't work)
Nightwing (ignoring the past and retreading the same old ground)
Batwing (mash-up of Nightwing and Batman but african. Corporate crap Night Runner would have made a better solo series)
Justice League (Johns doesn't write Batman or Superman right so doesn't really count)
Justice League International (Batman plays straightman to the goofy people)
Batman, Inc. (Stephanie Brown's book I guess? I haven't read it)
Batwoman (Sexist disrespectful trash.)
Batman and Robin (Got the voice right, but everything else sucks)
Batman: The Dark Knight (Great first arc...2nd arc is meh and overshadowed by Batman)
I missed Batgirl in the original list... It's average at best. The biggest problem this title has is likely Gail Simone. She did such an excellent job creating what is the quintessential Babs Gordon that now that that was erased their not allowing her to be that developed character at all Simone is likely having an incredibly hard time writing well as where sh went originally was the best for the character and it's hard to come up with something equal or better.
Nightwing: I like it. Never really read the original run, though so not sure how "true" it is to his past.
Detective Comics: Agreed.
Justice League: Is decent. The artists have been rather inconsistent with Batman's new look, but this one is his best IMO.
Justice League Intl: Agreed. I don't see this one lasting much longer.
Batman Inc.: The sooner this ends, the better.
Batman and Robin: I'm hoping Damien either turns to the dark side or becomes the second Robin to die. Can't stand that little troll....
The Dark Knight: I agree, the first arc (pre-DCnU) was awesome, this last one.....not so much.
Batwoman: Read one comic of this and haven't picked up another.
Batgirl: Not reading.
Batwing: Not reading.
I'm also going to throw Teen Titans in there since Tim's back with that group, and I can't stand the writing in that series. Like I said before, I hope that DC gives us a dedicated Red Robin series back. Oh and give him his old costume back. -

And I got quoted by one that wasn't named "Mod##"!
Excuse me while I go squee into a pillow....
Side note, while I'm not a fan of the new DA, I will say that at first I thought I was looking at concept art or even screenshots from a completely different game. Graphically, the new DA looks awesome (judging by the screens, of course). -
"Several tomatoes have broken off from the main burger,..come with me!"

I can't stand what they just did to Dark Astoria. The Stalker improvements, and the 5th vs Council stuff is about all that has my interest at this point. Maybe some other things will come up that piques my interest (staff fighting excites me, but it wasn't mentioned), so for now: meh. -
Yep. Knight'Hawk was the very first character I created when I joined back in 07. He's gone through a couple name adjustments due to server switching and the current appearance is nothing like the original. It's been fun the last 4 1/2 years, but now that he's finally level 50, I've considered re-rolling him as a StJ/WP Scrapper as that would actually be more in line with his backstory.
I've never really been much of an altoholic cause while I do have a few extra characters, most aren't above level 15. Dark'Falcon is my gateway to villain content (started as a Praetorian Loyalist) and only recently have I started playing with an alternate hero; primarily to experience the new low-level stuff. I have one more in mind for Blueside (starting as a Praetorian) once staff fighting comes out, but that's probably about it.
Knight'Hawk however always will be my "main". I even have variations of him in the other hero games as I tend to play those periodically. As I've said before, that character is me. As long as there are hero games like this and the other two, I'm going to have a toon with that name in some form, and as some kind of melee class. -
I think I've only crashed once or twice since getting my new video card last year. DC'd a few times, mostly due to the fact that I am on wireless and occasionally my router needs to be power cycled (working on getting a new one; no, a hard line isn't possible atm). I never really have any network lag unless others in the house are doing things online that take up a lot of bandwidth (someone watching Netflix, someone else watching YouTube, someone else using XBL). The only real issue I have is right when I load up the game, I get some graphical lag for a few seconds, but then it goes away. I'd been on a break for a few months, and it never did that before, but when I came back a couple of months ago I noticed it. I've tried some suggestions in the Technical Issues forum, but it still does it so I figure it's just AMD and CoH aren't getting along right now.
Keep in mind though, I'm mostly a soloer, and I'm not an Incarnate, so I don't really know how things will hold up in iTrials and such. Based on past experience in TFs, I'd assume I wouldn't have any issues. -

I'm sure the reputation of the dev team behind that game didn't help matters. They get brought up in Game Development 101 as an example of what NOT to do.

No pics but I used to have a ton of Beast Wars and Star Wars stuff as a kid. More than a few Batman, Power Ranger, and Star Trek things as well. Sadly almost all of that has disappeared.....
About all I have left is a Batman, Spider-man or two, a couple Gundams, and the only "collection" that's still mostly intact is my DBZ figures. Ahhh....many hours of fun were had with those. -
Quote:Addressing the bolded sections, 1) I believe a year or so ago NCSoft/Paragon Studios trademarked the name City of Heroes 2 or something along those lines (EDIT: here it is), and 2) that's assuming CoH1 is left running. They may well shut the CoH1 servers down as they're bringing CoH2 online. I wouldn't be surprised at all if that happened, as I imagine it would cost quite a bit to keep both games running. Bigger studios might be able to pull it off, but I'm not sure NC/PS would be able to. I'm not sure what their situation is.But as the OP and myself have been wondering, how many more changes can we keep making to this before the engine can't take it anymore.
Admittedly, one of the problems of trying to make a City of sequel MMO many fold:
-As mentioned, City of Heroes is rooted in Cryptic's rights, so a sequel would likelt need an entirely new engine (not that it mighty exactly be a bad thing)
-This might also require them to get a new name too.
- MMO sequels have issues with development and success. See Guild Wars 2, Ragnarok Online 2, and Lineage 2. All of these seem to either have taken insane amounts of development time or simply had a lot of issues to my understanding.
-Sequels like this are likely to divide the playerbase.
and there are others, I believe.
I have no issues with a CoH2 as long as we don't lose all the "good" we have here in CoH1. However, I think there is still more to do here, even if we still have mitten-hands. -
Guess they had to get use out of that costume somehow.
Not that I'm complaining.... -
I tried the fauxhawk thing myself, and (so I was told) it didn't look bad on me. I never kept it though cause when I saw myself in the mirror it was like I was looking at an evil twin of myself (hence why if you ever see my Dark'Falcon character "out of costume" he has a fauxhawk
). I always do the "spiked bangs" style (kinda like "Princeton" in the game, just not that stupid looking
), though I kinda want to do something else. Just not sure what, or if my hair will cooperate.
....and now I'm going to go crush beer cans with my forehead or work on my truck to counter the effeminate-ness of all that ^ . -

Ok, here's some pics (pardon the size):
And then yesterday one of my friends got me these:

Ever since I put "No farms or PL teams" as my LFT comment, I haven't gotten any invites in a couple years.
Seriously, though, I'm just on /hide and have my flag set to "not looking". If I want to team, I'll seek one out. -

Quote:I go through the same thing. I'm almost 23 and everyone I meet tells me I look like I'm 15.No offense taken at all.
I get the whole '' you look young thing '' a lot basically cause I do, am relatively short, and slow aging genes don't help the situation.
Thanks for the compliments lol maybe I'll make a toon in game called Ski Bunny and attempt a re-make of my grandma's shirt. I wonder if it'd work. -
All I got was geeky stuff.
Enterprise Season 2 on DVD
3 Xbox games
An "Expressions of Vader" shirt and another one that has "The Top 10 Reasons Kirk is Better Than Picard"
A Galaxy Tab 10.1 (which is what I'm posting from now)
And of course bought myself the collector's edition of a recently released MMO.
Might get around to posting pics in a bit. -

George Lucas will finally put the OT on blu-ray in its original form. No new scenes, actors, lines, etc.
On a "serious" note, it's believed that the Mayans saw each "roll over" as the beginning of a new era of sorts and that it was a time of great change. We could all wake up to a world without crime, or war, or poverty. Or we could wake up to World War III.
Or, of course, nothing could happen....but that would be boring.
