  1. Positron has said they intend to have a "ask us anything" session next week. That's probably when they'll reveal everything.
  2. I'm pretty sure I've seen Rick Astley posting in here before. And supposedly he never gives up or let's you down....that could be good for us.
  3. I feel this is appropriate. Especially since it was done by one of our own:

  4. Ummm.... ....I had just got done checking out the new shiny stuff on CO, jumped on Facebook and saw the post.

    And I agree.
  6. You still got 3 months bud. It may not be long, but enjoying this game for 3 months is better that never enjoying it at all.

    That's Austin's area code....hmmm.....

But I was coming here to say basically what you said. If people wish to voice their displeasure, then go for it, but for the love of all that is superpowered BE RESPECTFUL! This community has always been one of, if not THE, better online communities I've been a part of. I'd hate to see that tarnished in our final days by some Neanderthals throwing a tantrum that would embarrass a 2 year old.

    -Edit-

I think this is the new link

I was wondering if they were still around. I'll probably hop over there too once these forums go.
  9. I don't have much to contribute in terms of money or skills, but whatever support I can give, you have all of it. Thanks, if for nothing else, for making an attempt.
  10. Take it to PM's boys. We don't need this right now.

    Whee.
When it was said that everyone was laid off immediately, that was my fear. If the severs coughed, there wouldn't be anyone to take care of the problem.
  12. I'm not well versed in business, so excuse the ignorance, but couldn't PWE/Cryptic buy back the IP? In that case, CoH wouldn't be in competition with CO as the money's all going to the same place, and PWE/Cryptic would have two SH games to SOE's one (and Marvel's rumored one).

I'm going to work. Still have some iTrials and Cole @$$ kicking to do.

Since Cryptic went to Atari and Atari went to Perfect World, they didn't want competition in the superhero genre and either refused to renew or made it too expensive on purpose.
    If this is true....

I need to punch an inanimate object, brb.

Thanks for that. I think we all needed it (and agree with it).

Yep. I'm still putting the mask on regardless of the supposedly unstoppable asteroid heading our way.

They're vastly overstating that, though it is nice for people like myself that swing from invisible-anchor-point-in-the-sky to invisible-anchor-point-in-the-sky to be able to zip to missions on the other side of the map.
  18. It would be nice if someone with the know-how could drum up a forum for us to migrate to. This is where I get all my nerd news and get to spew my distaste for the New 52, and it'd be nice if we could have a place to do that if/after we lose this place.

Yeah. So many posts on here that say "kthxbai", and I'll agree with the "kthx" but I'm not saying "bai" until the lights go out. Some say it's impossible, but NCSoft is a company. They like money. If another studio (or someone with some cash) says "here's money, give us PS/CoH", I'm sure they'd turn into Smeagol at the sight of the Ring.

That said, should this all continue the way it appears to, you'll probably find me in CO or DCUO at least until my main hits the level cap. Might also catch me on SWTOR, though things there aren't looking too hot (unfortunately; thanks EA). More than likely though, after DC I'll probably hang up the cape and my MMO gaming entirely. Nothing out there now has grabbed my love and attention the way CoH has, and nothing on the horizon appears to either.
  20. Jeez, even SWG players could see the writing on the wall when that shut down. Like I said on Facebook, I was considering getting GW2 even though I've never been a fan of fantasy games. NCSoft has now succeeded in making sure that doesn't happen.

My only hope is that another game studio buys CoH and saves it, much like NC did years ago. If only I were rich...
  21. Maybe I've missed it, but has anyone read the Wearing the Cape series? I think there's only two of them right now, but it looks interesting. Also, not sure if it's the same, but I've seen books in the Kindle store where they appear to have collected various stories of The Shadow. Not sure if y'all count him as a superhero though, just thought I'd mention it since he was one of the inspirations for Batman.

My dad has a phone from around the 30s or 40s in the office. It can take calls, but we can't call out with it.

I read the first few issues of some of the books... Action Comics was the clear stand-out for me, mostly because they went for a more hard-edged throwback Superman from the original run back in 1938. He's not all-powerful and busts chops like a dude with superpowers would if he were on a mission to kick some bad-guy *****. I kind of lost the thread of the book while I was in Africa and just didn't feel compelled to pick it back up. And that was a book that I *liked*.
I kind of felt the same way. The only book I liked at the start of the New 52 was Nightwing, but I ended up getting so busy with work I dropped everything I was reading, and when the itch came back I pretty much had to force myself to at least close up the story arcs I had been reading.

On another note, I started reading The Long Halloween earlier today, and couldn't put it down.
