Merry Christmas heroes!!!
.......okay and villians too. -
Hahaha, sounds like me. 3 years (actually, I think I only have about 2 years of actual game time, just got my 24 month badge) and Knight'Hawk just hit level 43 a day or so ago.
I've never been a fast leveller. Took me about 3 1/2 years to hit the cap in SWG. It's taken 3 years (since account creation and character's birth) just to hit 43 here. Just hit 30 in WoW (that's cause I only play for about a month, every 6 months or so), something like level 22 or 23 in CO (again, only play for a month every few months).....
Basically, the only time I've reached the cap in any time shorter than a year was in STO. Took me two months there.
So when do I expect Knight'Hawk to reach 50? Probably around i21 at the latest (unless I take a massive break between now and then). Which is good cause by then the Incarnate system will be a little more fleshed out and I'll have more stuff to do with him. -
Didn't pick anything up, but it looks like Batman Inc. #2 for me. Also going to see if my store has ASM #649.

Dear Santa,
I...*sees Steelclaw's post*
Quote:Oh....that's a good one. Yeah, do that ^.Dear Santa,
Next year please have the dev team come out with a Holiday Booster Pack with Christmas/Winter themed costume items, emotes and perhaps powers. Have half the proceeds go to Toys for Tots or some other national charity that provides toys for underpriveleged children.
We here at City of Heroes have what I consider the best on line community of any MMORPG out there. Our players have more heart. Our development team listens and responds. The general public should know about this.
This is a game of Heroes. Maybe it's time WE emulate the characters we play on line.
Sincerely,
Steelclaw
I have some wishes of my own, but they're probably too big to fit in your toy bag.
Thanks,
Night-Hawk -
Quote:Yeah I noticed that later on. My game crashed twice, once before the final mission and once after, but when I relogged back in after the first crash and talked to Mr. Cooling, I got that intro dialogue. And then we continued with the Finale. You did, because you were on a flashback.
The two new contacts, as well as the clone arc contacts, have unique first-contact dialogue that's separate and different from the normal mission briefings and debriefings. Normally if you click on them you get that introduction dialogue, but a flashback skips right to the mission briefing so you don't get that introduction dialogue.
Luckily, though, that dialogue isn't completely lost on you. Any toon who's at least level 20 who's not currently on a flashback or TF will get his introduction dialogue when clicking on him, even if they're over level 30. -
Not sure if this is the same issue, but I just had two crashes within about an hour running the Roy Cooling arc through Ouroboros. The first was at the beginning of the final mission, then it just happened again after I talked to him to complete the mission.
Also, just thought of something. There seemed to be a lot of long load times and such while entering the different instances, or even different areas of that instance (such as, going up and down the stairs in the mission where the building is crashing and you have to rescue those Rouge PPD). -
ROFL
Though I am disappoint that they aren't "real" City of Heroes toys.... -
I'm playing through the arc right now. Only on the second mission, and I can't wait for a revamp of all the old missions (if they ever happen). Just the ability to say something other than "accept" is freaking cool. I know that's been around for a while, but still. I also liked how in the first mission (and I assume more throughout the arc) you could choose how to deal with Louie Dogger.
I just feel like I'm missing part of the story. The initial dialoge just starts off talking about some guy named Stanfeld like I should already know who he is, and about all this medi-port stuff like it's been going on for a while, and my toon just hasn't been watching the news lately.
Other than that, so far I'm enjoying it. Nice break from all the 13-15+ mission arcs in the 40-50 range.
EDIT: Gah, and I just failed on the mission where the building collapses. I'm pissed now, lol. Actually, that's probably a good thing because with all this side switching and Praetorian stuff, my toon was supposed to encounter a time where he walks on the very edge of "that line" (in my lore for him). This could very well be that event. -
Wait, you have a sarcasm detector on your computer? Where'd you get it? My so called "new, state-of-the-art" machine didn't come with one.
And in my defense, that actually sounds like something a company in 2010 would do. Sad, but true. -
The "Enter You" Metallica mash up is actually pretty good.
-
Wow...that's....wrong. You'd think a company would want their employees to have a good, close relationship with their customers. Then again, I guess as long as they continue to get their money they probably wouldn't care about such things. Just sheep to the slaughter.

Quote:Yeah. I've done some further research and a number of friends, friends-of-friends who all have iPads, and of course the guys at Best Buy, have all said that it's not that great in terms of being a smaller, lightweight laptop or netbook (basically, what most everyone's said here). As for the OP's question, although many students have adopted the iPad - Stanford Medical School has issued them to all incoming students this year, to name only one example - it is still regarded as a complement to a laptop or desktop computer, not a substitute.
As far as looking at Macs in general, I tried one once in a graphic design class....weirdest. thing. ever.Took me a good 10 minutes to figure out how to work the stupid mouse. Plus, as you can tell I'm a gamer, and there's still a lot of games (old and new) that are PC only.
And let's not forget the price tag. -
10-4, thanks everyone. Looks like to newegg.com for a laptop I go.
-
Well I picked up the 3rd issue of "Big Time", and went ahead and read through it. The writing seems better, but the art needs some work. It just looks kinda cartoon-y compared to some other comics. I'm hoping I can find the first two issues soon to get the whole story so far.
-
Gotcha. Thanks for the responses guys. I have a laptop already but it's old and falling apart, so I was looking for something easier to carry around, newer, and could just do the basics for school. I would assume the Galaxy Tab is kind of in the same boat?
-
Figured this was the best place to ask this. I'm looking at going back to school and getting an iPad, primarily as an eReader but also as a mini-computer. Obviously, Apple's word processor doesn't like Microsoft Word (which is what most everyone uses), but wasn't sure if there was an app or conversion tool I could use. Is there such a thing, or am I going to have to look more into a netbook?
-
I felt that "funny" warning would be needed to head-off any possible issues that might have arisen.

Quote:I mentioned something similar back about the time WoW announced Cata. Well, more like I asked if anyone thought CoH could use a similar "facelift", and/or if it would even happen. Could be an after effect of the "the Storm".Y'know off-topic and all, but I thought that would have been a good way to have a PSE (Paragon Shattering Event), a some sort of super deadly missile gets launched from Warburg. Statesman and friends go to stop it, they get vaporized along with most if not all of the city (citizens and the player's heros get lucky because they are forced to evacuate to the sewers with the heros defending the citizens from the dangers there in). Poof... advance the story a coupla years into the future and New Paragon City is here.
Oh and can New Paragon City not have war walls, plz? kthxbai -
Quote:Being an MA/SR Scrapper, I HATE Speed Boost.I don't like it - it makes me run into wall and overshoot targets
"Alright, just gonna run up here, Eagle Kick this first*SPEED BOOST*...WTF!?!?!"
*flies right past mob, and ping pongs off every wall and pipe in the map*
Yeah...f*** Speed Boost. -
Looks like Batman and Robin #18 and Batman #705 for me. Might also pick up Spidey #650 (and the issues just before to catch up on the current arc). Read OMIT a while back, and I can see why everyone hates Joephisto, but I still like Spidey (don't know if I should put a
or
).

Oh God, I about fell out of my chair, roflmao.
-
It's a faaaaaaake.
Since I haven't gotten to 50 yet, the ability to switch toons without logging out or...umm...quitting is so far the single greatest thing about i19 so far. -
It's not easy to find a decent arc, but the biggest thing for me is that I still have a ton of stuff in the regular game to do still. If for some reason I need an extra level or two, I'll either run a TF or run some AE arcs. Or on the rare occasion I'm just looking for a break from the regular stuff.

The Enterprise one. So far it's not bad, but I haven't gotten too far into it.
