I could, you see in AE you can make mobs a certain way that certain tankers won't be too hot on. Not all auras are autohit and attacks can miss, when they do hit they only have a certain area to catch enemies in and the duration only lasts so long.
A tanker, who is not too hot in a typical way would spend time concentrating on a single mob rather than select different targets around them. Also I have seen it myself, whereby they're so focused on one single target when other mobs go for someone else, they don't appear to be paying attention by quickly attacking that target (not being autohit a miss will do nothing) but anyway there are differences between good gauntleters and bad gauntleters and ever so not hard to imagine that three may get teamed together. -
I can understand people and teams not needing a Tanker let alone one with taunt who is making it so the team can shoot fish in a barrel.
I don't like things too tidy neither. Thats why I tank drunk but I don't like things done in a way that for certain people things become a waste of time. I also prefer sparing an extra 2 secs for nice consolidation than the alternative.
Taunt was never all about aggro control aka redirection of fire it was also there for damage mitigation purposes. You can dictate to AVs what attacks they are and are not allowed to use, make them your B, etc. Have AoEs land away from team (although in all likelhood you just prevent AoE), make AVs use attacks that your Tank can handle rather than all the ones your tank can't handle.
In a tanking competition the tauntless ones will end up dead. I be doing AVs with Scrappers anyway, so Brutes don't have to. -
I don't think many min/maxxers care to compete over a certain element.
-
Aggro Cap is 17 and its more easily maintained by those with taunt than those without. Your Aura hits 10 say, then maybe your AoE doesn't hit the same 10 and your ST attacks can each gauntlet one. There is no AoE gauntlet with Brutes. At times with tauntless Brutes they just won't maintain aggro cap for if they did the Domie or whoever wouldn't be able to pull despite their levels of damage.

I couldnt assume you did but I would really try and not lose so much to ED. It's alright if you don't run certain powers all the time or team with certain people but I'd prefer with my builds to do more to an endurance bar. Assault buffs the team and Melt Armour speeds things up a bit although I think its weak for the end cost. It's just an opinion, I am sure I've got builds you'd probably disagree on.

Quote:From this reply I don't think you have a clue about the type of scenarios I am on about. People within a vicinity of a AoE might altogether get taken out with the Brute and the Tanker as the only survivors. This could be a case of people supporting the Brute who decides to have the fight in a small room. Given the time it takes for a Tanker to stack aggro the AoE can happen whilst the Brute is scrapping away. So many of them get a thrill of being survivable which is most notice able as squishies are dying. A Tanker could force aggro quick and take the fight to somewhere more suitable or prevent the AoE from happening. There is no cascade BS involved in that scenario.I doubt one person dying is always going to lead to the cascade of failure you just described.

I don't care if you don't like it or to debate it.
Another wish of mine would be a choice of taunt sound effects. I have the sound down normally. -
I think you could lose weave, look at EA and perhaps think it's over kill for what you need and pull a slot from it to get that sword well slotted. Also not bother with recharge in Hibernate because you won't be able to phase again anyway due to the no phase period.

Reading your Empty Clips I read: Pre ED 148.40% Post ED 102.26%
Thats 46% of slotting for damage gone. I'd prefer to slot to do more dam per end by decreasing the end use by a large amount and only sacrificing a small amount of damage.
I see some PvP builds eeking out every bit of burst they can muster but that's normally with single target attacks as they have a single target only attack chain because versus single targets they're the most viable ones to use.
I can get the picture that you're favouring burst from Assault and Melt Armour. Raw, that's your blaster unbuffed, these powers trade long term DPS (damage done to the end bar) for burst DPS. Assaults alright for resistance to a couple of secondary effects and Melt Armour is also -def but Pistols strikes me as hardly a burst set to begin with and comparatively so with other blasters its potentially going to have a fight duration that's slightly longer especially the fewer targets there are. Therefore, these blasters can be taking slightly more damage till the end of the fight.
I am a bit of a believer in, that, if you're going to go for range def or anything then really go for it. I would trade any excess ED Loss for IOs that improve some select thing, hopefully perhaps, in your case Range Def and Dam Buffs.
Clearly you like RotP but given most of the build I probably would of chose Force Mastery.
Dual Wield is perhaps too frequently easy to use and so might be used as often to get the best out of the +rechg. I can't remember off the top of my head but with the suppression of chance it could do with being in a power with a rechg of something like 15s. Not something I keep a note off, I don't keep notes on anything really.
Thats my opinion anyway. -
I'd say that they can completely control some situations. I can't see a tauntless tanker ever beating the best tankers with taunt in a tanking competition. The tauntless ones would be dead.
-
It's upto you what flexibilities you want to trade for other flexibilities. You've lost some ability to exemp, keep your toggles on under end drain conditions and some regen. Most people invite a Tanker to team to be upstanding and redirecting effects away from the main damage dealers, not someone who gets sapped, slips out of granite mode with no endurance and is the first to fall down. Ideally a well played tank would be the first to fall down despite a great build but you can't always save people from AoEs at times. Despite redirecting effects one way they jump in behind you to share it.

Quote:The problem is, other people die and then that person dies. It's too late to care when other people are dead. I hate watching incompetence surrounded by incompetence but I think that to not be able to really push for an immediate change in dynamic at such times is sign of impotentence. You might like incompetence and being impotent but I don't fancy coming close to those situations. This feature already exists: just wait until that other person dies, and you can take over. I think this is an awful idea. My wish is that this wish would never come true.

When ya done that perhaps try the MoSTF. It's all possible.
-
When it comes to Assault Rifle I'd like to be able to move and fire the gun. Incredibly unrealistic so it is.
-
Is it plausible, that eventually, when one is really, really experienced that Corrupters and Dominators aren't needed due to taunt? What's it going to be a choice of needing one or the other? That's fine. People can choose for themselves.
-
A Force Aggro button. Sometimes you see a situation where things would be better resolved if you got aggro immediately. Clearly in most cases one can but in some cases vs Scrapper, Brute or another Tanker and proximity one can't and it's potentially painful in my eyes.
-
Extra KB can be necessary for things like PvP. Importing stuff in PvP mode, makes me question what to say and what not to say.

Quote:I use it to stack damage to the trip mine as in double toe bomb, the trip mine laid and then sets off just as time bomb does. I might double toe bomb, scoot back and get an Autofire in too as they kb. Thats a bit of open up damage on not so bad rechg more than quadrupling survivability. I think the trick is to know precisely the level of damage required so you don't go over board.Find us a reason to take Time Bomb that couldn't be done by Trip Mine.
/Devices can make things a game of prediction and with the ability to set mobs +2 and say that ones blasters worth 6 people etc it can mean a different soloing experience. -
Quote:Weapon mastery can make a duct tape trick archer out of a Scrapper in PVE. If I was on an all Scrapper Mo I'd prefer one in team.Weapon Mastery Epic Pool: This entire set is crap. Web Grenade does no damage, and offers immobilization, which is rarely needed on a scrapper who fights RIGHT NEXT TO enemies anyway. The ranged attacks deal lethal damage, meaning they'll often be resisted and thus you're far better off just taking any other epic power. Targeting Drone, for the scrapper, has all the same flaws as Focused Accuracy while simultaneously forcing you to pick some other crappy Weapon Mastery power. It's only good power is caltrops.
-
Count your bonuses, you shouldn't have more than 5 of any bonus and it looks to me that you've over clocked it on recharge. Energy Torrent just don't seem worth it with one slot in it and looking at your attack chain your taking energy mastery for the lack of rooted. Rooted was your def debuff resistance, end drain resistance and resistance to end recovery debuffs.
-
I'd question the need for rechg in Hibernate..
I also think that now that there is a decent damage component in Frozen Aura it's even less skippable now than it ever was.
I think your looking at rather an unnecessary expense with Kinetic Combats.
As I am at work, self-employed but that's besides the point, here is a quick fix that was all the time I had:

Whoever bought it for 450 mill must be gutted but if it were the other way around then they; like 99% of the ebil marketeers would probably be well happy with the steal.
If I could cap what people could offer I would. -
I have Black hole on my Dark Defender. I use the thing during normal missions. It helps to have some idea of the average fight duration that the team have per group, likely ambush points etc. I use the thing when needed to prevent overwhelming odds, and seen mobs unphased just when the team finished with another group. No ones ever been upset by my use of it but I dare say that now I've said that someone might soon.

A stalker without AS is heresy.
I think on average Stalkers are gimpier without it. -
I like swap Ammo. Particularly for Corrupters and Defenders.
